The location was great, staff were helpful and friendly. We were quite disappointed with the standard of the apartment considering the amount we paid for our stay. We had read plenty of positive reviews but when we arrived we couldn't understand what the fuss was about. We checked into our apartment to discover two single beds when we had booked a double, the lady on reception suggested we push the two beds together to make a double! I insisted that we should have the apartment swapped, she then swapped for a double. The apartment was small and looked dated, broken door handles and loose fittings just made the place look a little neglected. The bed was very uncomfortable with poor quality pillows. Don't get me wrong there wasn't a great deal wrong with the place, however for the price we paid we felt it was not up to the standard we had experienced on our previous visits to Manchester in cheaper accommodation. Be warned there are no well priced parking facilities nearby, there is an ncp at the back of the building but this is very expensive, you can obtain discount from the hotel reception but it is a very minimal discount.

Bedding nice and clean. Kitchen fully equiped. First impression poor. Laminate floor black scrap marks from entrance to sitting room. It is not a "aparthotel" No hotel Service at all, no towel change . One facecloth for 2 people. 1 Radiator not working first night. Burnt controls. Old technology tv'S. Although they have rooms facing canal which would have been be quiet. We were in the noisiest room on the corner of 2 main road in the centre of Manchester. Nightclubbers, police sirens, buses, etc. Basic lodging, not suitable to a romantic aniversary weekend and certainly doesnot warrant a 4 star rating. Very poor value for money, a family run bb would be preferable.

The staff are friendly and efficient we heard no noise at night despite being so close to the city centre the fact there are self catering means you can feel at home it is a five to ten minute walk to the heart of the city centre and also to the main train station. There is a dvd rental service in the hotel so you can have a nice quiet night in. It might be nice to have gym facilities.

Having not stayed in an apartment hotel before I wasn't sure what to expect but have say that it was an all round enjoyable experience. A great, central location and friendly helpful staff. I found the apartment to be very spacious and comfortable and the Atrium apartments is now first on my list of places to stay in Manchester and one that I will definatly be reccommending to others. While it wouldn't put me staying at the Atrium apartments again, there were a couple of things that I found annoying. These were - I found very problematic to get connected to the internet, which I finally managed to do 2 days into my stay. I had many phone calls with reception and the external internet company that you use but they offered very little in the way of helpful advice beyond trying to change the router and cables in the apartment. I eventually figured it out by myself but feel this could of been avoided by having more experienced skilled staff on the other end of the telephone helpline. I do think that offering wi-fi in the apartments would be benificial. One day during my stay, I had a maintenece engineer enter my apartment unannounced. I was still in bed and have got say that I was quite surprised by this. No matter where you stay, I don't think it's good practice to allow staff to enter rooms unanounced and although I didn't make a fuss, I wasn't very happy about this. The only other minor points were the lift was slow and the t.v and dvd player wasn't great. Like I said at the start, overall I really enjoyed my stay and will definatly stay there again but you asked me to list good and bad and I am only trying to be constuctive and offer you my honest opinions.

Central to the city - easy access to cultural ppaces of interest, shopping, hospitality and public transport (a) The terrible aroma emanatingf from the sewer beneath the lift that took us to our apartment - merely having anotice apologising for the inconvenience is not good enough - when will it be resolved and what steps are being taken to purify the air. (B) the aroma emanating from the Indian restuarant below the apartment - although we were four floors up we could smell asian cooking in the kitchenette/lounge area - didn't give you encouragement to hang- around and recline in the aprtment (c) the noise from the road below - people going from bar to bar, talking loudly, singing and making merry and the sound of traffic (all manner of) from the roads below - why is there no double/triple glazing? And (d) why were there only a single facecloth (there were two sets of towels) and such a small supply of soap products

It was very noisey. On ione side its next to a disco. We asked to be moved, which they kindly agreed to, but on the other side the industrial heating generator is on all day and is very noisy - to the extent you can not leave the window open and there is no air con.The funishings are adequate but tired.

Location and price were unbeatable. A very generously-sized 1-bedroom flat with a proper kitchen. We really enjoyed this place. Staff were gruff. The laundry facilities are absolute rubbish.

Amount of space within apartment. Very good amenities. Excellent location. Nice to be high up from street level. Nice relaxing living room too. Felt like home. Shame the tv is still an old 4:3 style set rather than widescreen. Odd selection of tv channels available. No sky sports news!

Location for canal street was fantastic, also the car park was just around the corner, so not far to walk with your luggage and reduced rates at reception. Our one bed apartment was so clean and very well equipt, really couldnt have asked for more. Will be staying here again, and would reccomend to anyone.

Atrium was close to the Palace Theatre which was the main purpose of our stay. Loved the fact that is was so well equipped. I would return if I was going to the theatre. You could even borrow a DVD for the night which was a lovely addition to the deal. Even though the apartment was spotlessly clean it was very tired in places. They now need to put in flat screen TVs, replace the bedroom carpet and the sofa in the lounge as all these had seen better days. It was very noisy too as close to a nightclub and an irish bar with late night party people. I would return if the place was modernised. On the website it said that there was reduced parking at the NCP on Whitworth Street well please don't bother if you see somewhere else cheaper as they only gave a £1 off the balance (24 hr stay=£15.30)

The location was amazing - about 5 to 10 minutes to shops / bars/ palace theatre. We asked to move rooms and when we spoke to the member of staff, he did everything he could to help us out. The room had everything you could possibly need and it was warm and comfortable. The first room we went to had a very strong curry smell. When we asked to move, he did his best but only had a studio room (we had booked a 1 bed apartment). However, it turned out to be an executive studio which was very big. We told them about a broken DVD player and we had to mention it twice before it was replaced.

It was more like a flat than a hotel room so there was a lot more space and you were not confined to one tiny room, The cooking facilities were also excellent for a hotel. The price was very reasonable,

Wow what a find!! Looking for a decent hotel for a weekend stay, I was very impressed when I fell upon this gem!! Studio apartments with everything you need for your stay, with hotels you need to go out to find food but with this there is no need to leave!! With sainsburys a short walk away- stock up on some essentials and bring a stack of DVDs and you can lock yourself away!! Kitchen had everything you need. Was very impressed with everything in our room. The only thing I would say is you expected such a modern apartment would have up to date tv's in the rooms- but both bedroom and living room tv's were the old Style quite small, if they upgraded to flat screen tv's it would finish of the rooms perfectly!! But apart from that, we were very happy with the service, we were left alone to get on with our weekend. The location is ideal too as everything is within walking distance! On a last note, the price was very reasonable!! I defintaly would stay here again. A*

“From the moment we stepped in to Roomzzz we just got this amazing cosyness feeling. The guy on reception was very friendly and had a very professional manner about him, staff from other hotels could learn a thing or two from him The room was stunning and the rain shower was heaven, it had everything we required and was in walking distance of everything we needed. Its a shame we couldn't stay longer, but I am making hints at my boyfriend for us to go again in the next few months just to relax and enjoy those comforts again :) The pastries at breakfast were also delicious.” Laura, Runcorn |
