The appartment was simply fantastic. Well-equipped, plenty of room and clean. Special mention to the staff and to Olga specifically, she was so helpful. We only had a problem. The wooden floor in the room just above us was creaking, and it was somehow rather annoying at night. A part from that, nothing, really.

Really convenient for our stay in Glasgow and great value! All the luxury of staying at a hotel but with the added bonus of our own kitchen and lounge faciliites. There were a number of us staying in the suites as part of a hen do and we couldn't have asked for a better location. I would highly recommend. One of our group staying is pregnant and so went to bed early - sshe said there was quite alot of noise at night but that wasn't a problem for those of use staying out later.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is ideal for anyone wanting to be in the middle of downtown Glasgow with many restaurants, pubs and shopping. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. This is a great option for anyone wanting a hotel with suites. Our first room was noisy due to the restaurants below. The staff moved us to another room for the second evening and it was much better. Both rooms were spacious and clean. However, the bathtub/showers in each room were dirty or needed repair.

Beautiful facade hides ugly hotel behind. The hotel is deceptive. Behind a fine old facade the building has been gutted. It must have been the cheapest refurb in Glasgow; paper thin walls, long, neon lit corridors, and draughty unrestored windows. And now it's all falling apart. The flimsy plastic bath was ringed with mould, the curtains were filthy, and one in our room was missing, there were unpleasant looking stains on the walls, and the staff told us that the carpets are now too soiled to clean. Apparently it's due a refit. But the run down state is not reflected in the price, nor do the web site pictures show the hotel as it now looks. It's a hostel pretending to be a hotel. We moved out and into the Malmaison which was lovely and the same price.

The location is fantastic and we were happy with the size of the apt. The night manager was rude, the mirror was too far away from the lights, socket. There is a night club under the apts which is not mentioned in the description. Kitchen could have been better equiped.

The location is very good if you wish to enjoy Glasgow's nightlife in the Candlerigg's / Merchant City area. Very disappointed in the accommodation provided at Fraser Suites. The first room we were shown was small and damp with an overpowering smell of curry from a nearby restaurant. This smell was evident in many parts of the hotel. The second room offered was a better size, but sadly very neglected. Ill fitting windows meant a cold wind blew through the room - not an ideal situation at the end of January. The bathroom had black mould around the bath, sticky dust on the skirting boards, with stained flaking paint hanging off the ceiling. Much of the furniture in the room had also seen better days - scuffed and worn with long cracks on the 'leather' sofa. The layout of the furniture was also poor, meaning that the tv was unable to be viewed from the bed. There was some outside noise on the Saturday night we stayed, but no more than you would expect for the location. Internal noise was the main problem. Very little soundproofing between rooms and the noise of the gym's treadmill could be heard from early morning. Staff were made aware of these problems but nothing done to correct them or make us feel valued customers. Told that a refurbishment was due. If this is the case then the price should reflect the current state of disrepair, or rooms not let out. Fraser Suites sells itself as luxury accommodation: it is not.

My husband and I stayed here for one night in a two bedroomed apartment along with our eldest son and his wife, we we were visiting our youngest son who lives in Glasgow. The price and location of the suites were very good. The apartment was spacious and fairly well equipped. Having stayed at the Fraser Suites before we were disappointed in the apartment on this occasion. Although the general cleanliness was fine the apartment definately needed a more thorough cleaning with dirt and dust along skirting boards and flooring. Apartment was tired with paintwork scuffed throughout and carpets grubby and stained. In the bathroom there was peeling paintwork on the ceiling, grout missing between tiles and nail varnish on toilet seat. There were also shelves missing from back of fridge door and our bed definately needed new mattresses. The small heater in the living room/kitchen was inadequate for the space making that room very cold to sit in. All in all, not the standard we were expecting.

“My husband and I stayed here for two nights, it was a surprise for his 40th birthday. And what a surprise it was, they had upgraded us to a 2 bed apartment on the top floor! The views were just amazing. Lovely spacious modern rooms, that are nicely decorated. The kitchen area had everything you needed to cook a meal, it had a huge fridge and even a dishwasher! It had 2 bathrooms, one with a jacuzzi bath. The staff were really helpful and friendly throughout our stay. We cannot fault our stay and would definitely stay here again the next time we go to Glasgow. I will be recommending this apartment to everyone!” Lisa, Coventry |
