Room was beautiful very large bed
Towels should be replaced looking pass their best . Especially in these new rooms .
Friendly, helpful staff, good food and comfortable rooms. Easy to find and easy access to the motorway.
Warm welcome, nothing too much trouble. Super new room at the back of the Hotel. We were heading for the commonwealth games so needed an early start - they made breakfast available early!
Nothing at all
This was organised with the minimum of fuss for 20 people. Food was good, we ate in a private room. Altogether a good occasion enjoyed by all.
I liked everything about this place. The staff were so friendly and lovely. The room was beautiful and spacious, spotlessly clean. Very interesting history about the place designed by Alexander Greek Thompson, a beautiful building will be visiting again.
Very comfortable beds, lovely modern room and great value. Handy for the M74.
Good sized rooms.
WiFi reception not available in room.
The restaurant offers excellent food with a smile. Grilled salmon, venison, lamb sirloin steaks, fish and sticky toffee pudding are a must try!
-spacious room -room recently done up -big flat screen TV -great price
-Noise from kitchen's fridge outside could be heard in my room. Annoying. -WiFi not working in room although I understand will be fixed -Restaurant food average given the price
Pet friendly hotel. There was a lot of choice on the dining room menu and the food was very nice. Breakfast was good we think the hot food was cooked to order so it was fresh.
The room was quite small for 2 adults and 2 dogs.
Only stayed overnight as a stopover on the way North, but impossible to find fault: - + very warm welcome; + excellent room - spacious, four-poster bed and monster tv; + very good evening meal - with locally-sourced meat; + friendly bar, with fine selection of malts;
Nothing to dislike.
The relaxed efficient and friendly manner each person in this family hotel pulled together to make our stay a really pleasant one.
Tried to book for another week but no joy as hotel fully booked - no wonder considering service provided.
Very nice room and friendly staff the food is good but my partners main was not as described on the menu
Loved our stay at the hotel staff where wonderful and room was gorgeous will be staying more often for family events and will recommend to other people
Generally very impressed.
Decor, food, friendly efficient staff, comfortable beautiful newly furnished downstairs room. Liked the attention to detail.
Nothing we didn't like
Good rooms and friendly staff.
Some of the older parts need a bit of TLC.
My room was wonderful. Wood panelling of rare wood taken from a ship wreck many years ago. A four poster bed, a chaise longue, this was not what I expected at all. The bathroom was fine, the linen pristine, I slept like a log. The staff were lovely.
Dinner was not spectacular, but I did only order a chicken salad.
Personal service all staff were very attentive. I got up one hour early by mistake but they still made me breakfast early so I could get on my way
Friendliness of staff, cleanliness and comfort
Quality of food, both evening meal and breakfast.
Very friendly staff good food looked after very well
Staff and owner very friendly. Food excellent with a good variety of choice. Quiet location.
The price. The spa bath didnt work. Cobwebs and dust. No heating. Hot water tap dribbled. Plug socket did not work. For £90 expect more than a cheap tiny sachet of foam bath and shampoo. Weeds in gardens. Building site in garden. Dirty windows. Breakfast on a sunday only served till 9am. Being woken up at 6.30am on a sunday morning by the noisey heating system banging. Not much choice of cereal at breakfast, the only fruit on offer was peaches or grapefruit that was the only choice, no jam or marmalade. Teapot full of tea delivered to breakfast table but no teacups and after 10mins of waiting for a member of staff eventually asked for cups by this time tea was stewed and cold. £90 extortionate.
Staff were great. Food was great
Room was "tatty" and "dated"
hotel was welcoming, food at dinner and breakfast was good and plenty had room changed, bed was very comfy and room spacious and good view out
wi fi access poor upstairs, could get it in bar/lounge, but I don't normally use tablet/laptop in social areas, feel its antisocial
