Having stayed at the Somerville twice before I knew what to expect. I was not disappointed. The excellent location - overlooking St Aubins harbour with it's quaint fishing boats, cafes and shops helps make it a relaxing and pleasurable place to unwind. The very helpful staff plus excellent cuisine are a major plus. One can soon be on a lovely walk through cobbled streets and on to leafy lanes, but at the same time, the capital shopping centre is within easy reach by bus or car.

All we had hoped for. Excellent service and comfortable room; worth paying extra for sea view. V good cooked breakfast; freshly prepared and not a buffet. Superb poached eggs! Good location and much closer to restaurants than we thought; steep uphill return manageable and not as far as some reviews make out! Car is not essential. Would recommend this hotel.

The view from hotel restaurant/garden was stunning, the hotel staff friendly, polite and helpful. The gardens and pool immaculately kept. The breakfast was lovely. The view from my room was very poor - over-looking rooftops to a back wall.

The location was perfect. stunning views from restaurant. Food excellent. Staff both helpful and friendly without being overly familiar. Very relaxed vibe and facilities very well maintained and comfortable. My only slight gripe was that our room, although extremely comfortable and all the facilities very well maintained, was a tad small and felt a little claustrophobic due to small windows and no view. I don't think this was typical of the whole hotel and so next time I would be more selective about which room I booked.

Location and setting of the hotel. The hotel has beautiful gardens and good parking. Some of the beds are not up to standard. We sampled two rooms, in both the beds were sagging and uncomfortable. Decor in some areas needa attention.

Amazing views in a quiet location, but nice bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Nice choice of continental or english breakfast served in the main dining room looking over the bay - very spectacular on a sunny clear day. Would not go as far as to say it was excellent but it's clean, staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms seem a bit cramped and decour is dated, but for the price I think it is very reasonable. I will continue to use it as my regular business hotel when working in Jersey. 2nd time staying, room was bigger than the last time, but it sounded like I was right above the laundry room which seemed to operate well past 11pm. It wasn't particularly loud just annoying background noise

Friendly attentive staff nice location handy for restaurants Room size not the best for the cost men working with drills and loud cutters dust flying across the hotel garden not the best start to a relaxing romantic weekend ! should pre-warn guests of this and compensate in some foodie/drinks way to lessen the shock!! Workmen did stop at 5.30pm though!

Had a 1 night stay here on the 1st Feb. Staff were exceptional on check in, I had a taxi booked for me to evenign venue and return to airport within 2 minutes of checking in. Due to my early am departure they also organised breakfast to my room at no extra cost. I would definately stay here again for business, and with my family.

It was precisely what was ordered, and expected. All the staff were extremely helpful and attentive. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, and afternoon tea delightful. We did not dine at night, so cannot comment. We would definitely choose this hotel for a future visit to Jersey.

Just a relaxing break..Jersey was fine once you had been around the island would not go for a full week 4days/nights would be fine... as for the hotel the staff without exception were all very good nothing was left to chance meals/ drnks etc were all served very professionally indeed the whole set up was excellent..maybe a bit on the pricey side that and the smallish rooms were the only slight grumble The only small complaint was the size of the double rooms they were mall .. but as the hotel is 120 years old it's to be expected

The location was stunning. The views were over looking the harbour with little boats bobbing on the water. We had a seaview and it certainly was worth it. Sunrise was spectacular. The service was excellent the staff were attentive and friendly. Somerville has a very genteele atmosphere. Breakfast was really good with both hot and cold meal available and we chose both because it was there. Certainly got us off to a good start. We hired a car from the airport as we were told that the walk from the harbour to the hotel was impossible but we walked it a couple of times and it was fine. If you have knee problems then a car would be best. We walked to the next town, St Helliers; took about an hour and very pleasant along the waterfront. Bused it back as our friends had taken the car for the day. If we return to Jersey then we would certainly stay here again. Great place to relax and chill out..
