The location The staff were fantastically welcoming and very friendly. The Parking The breakfast
The room was cramped, dated and depressing.. one too many chairs!
Attentive staff, goood traditional Italian food, ckean and effficient rooms. Difficult to find accommodation at this price in Cambridge.
Very comfortable room, nice building, excellent cook, good parking. Not central Cambridge, so quieter, but within easy reach of the historic centre.
Perfect location for the Cambridge Folk Festival. Nice breakfast. Good car park.
Tiny, stuffy room. Minuscule bathroom. Noise from pub next door at closing time.
Staff helpful, breakfast plentiful,, all round pleasant experience. Location was fine for us as we had a family event nearby
Nothing. Location is not central Cambridge so may not suit many travellers.
Comfy bed, good breakfast, own car park.
Old fashioned furniture and decor, small shower, drafty double glazing.
Nice hotel clean in public areas, staff very friendly, breakfast was good, but would have been better if was buffet style for english breakfast
Room we booked on line had table & chairs ours didnt, sauna never worked, dust on top of wood of four poster, room too small for the price we paid, not enough sugar, tea or milk, no biscuits.
The staff - friendly, helpful, efficient. The food - the evening meal was delicious and excellent value. The room - incredibly comfy bed. The bathroom - large and beautifully-fitted.
A little far from the centre - but I knew that when I booked.
The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to assist.
A bit of a squeeze to shower.
Been there several times, nice to be remembered. Staff helpful and pleasant .
Stairs could be a problem.
The staff were helpful and attentive. Great to have tea facilities, iron etc.
The room had much on offer but wasn't large enough to contain it all without feeling cluttered and dated. A four poster bed needs space around it, the table and chairs just got in the way while the bathroom was huge. A sauna was unnecessary but we thought we'd try it but gave up trying. Again too much going on. To feel relaxing.
The location, the room, the bathroom
Late night porter Changed our room with no fuss Helpful and friendly staff
Had a leak in the toilet Far from everything
The number 3 bus takes you to the centre of town.
The bar was rubbish, the dinner wine was very overpriced and we had to ask for a change of room as there was a window water leak in our first room. The family took over the lounge and had Italian Sky on all the time.
1. The room was
Breakfast very good
Thought the room was very dark and small, two chairs in the room which got in the way all the time.
Bed comfortable, bedding clean, room clean.
Main problem was it was a very warm evening and the room had no aircon so marked down for sleep quality. Most of the time in the UK this wouldn't be a problem. Bed comfortable, bedding clean.
Convenient for our needs but a long walk to the centre of town.
Our room overlooked an enclosed quad of rooms with the roof of the bar immediately below. Conversations were going on until the early hours from all the rooms and the bar - and we could hear every word as if they were in our room. One conversation indicated a domestic dispute! We closed the window on what were stiflingly hot nights but could still hear. The plumbing from other rooms sounded like a river running nearby particularly when someone had a shower at 2am! Creaking floorboards, stomping up and down stairs and doorbells ringing throughout the night meant very little sleep was had. Then to top it all we were complained at for entering the hotel through the wrong door. £125 for a night is vastly overpriced for the quality of the hotel.
The hotel is very clean and the staff are lovely. The hotel is only a 30 minute walk from Addenbrooks although there are closer ones.
I paid for a double delux room which turned out to be a real disappointment. The furniture was very tired and dated. In the brochure the four poster bed has lovely curtains around it but all I got was the bare bed! The bathroom had a huge spa bath but it did not work! The bathroom window was not frosted and the metal slatted blind was bent and broken so anyone could see in! The tiles were very dated. On the outside of my room was a huge balcony which stretched across all the rooms and stairs up to it were accessible to anyone. I did not feel safe sleeping with the window open even though the weather was extremely hot. I went to turn on the wall light and the shade fell off onto my foot! The room just needs a complete overhaul. The reception and bar are very deceiving as they are modern and bright but my room was awful. The breakfast was ok. I would not stay there again. 5* prices for 2* rooms!
Not the largest, and inadequate showers.
The Sorrento was cosy, but a bit dated. Friendly and very helpful staff.
Bit further walk into Cambridge town centre than we thought. Also we all thought it was overpriced for type of hotel
It was in a good location for bus into the city, they ran every 10 minutes. Also a ten minute walk to cinema, music venue The Junction and chain resteraunts. The hotel was very clean, my single room was well equipped.
As it was very hot when I visited and there was no air conditioning I had to have the windows open. The traffic outside was noisy and the pub right opposite was noisy. Didn't sleep very well due to this.
Close to somewhere I wanted to be. Also close to a pub selling nice food. Easy access and parking. Everyone very friendly.
Room just about fitted the bed with not much space left over. Could have done with a lift.
Not a good shower. The wall has a ledge that comes out over the shower space making it very cramped. Some cutlery and crockery that I went to use were both not clean.
I just needed a room for the night with breakfast, on a business trip. The Sorrento met my needs, good bedroom, usual accessories, and a quiet location. Breakfast I had continental, decent if not spectacular
Weak 'kept-hot' coffee and pedestrian croissants at breakfast. Like many other places!
