Clean & comfortable ,good location and easy to find. Staff very helpful , good breakfast.
I think there should be bottle water & biscuits in room ,extra chair in room. leaking sky light in bathroom. Very hot building. even with windows open.
Near location to County Cricket Ground. Helpful staff.
No atmosphere in Restaurant so had to look elsewhere for Evening Dinner (not easy in Chelmsford)
Breakfast was nice
Mix Match of old furniture. Hotel looks tired.
Accommodation clean comfortable and fair value for money.
The full English breakfast, presented as a buffet, was poor, expensive at £10.99 with undercooked fatty bacon. When we got there at 8am is was cold having been sitting out since 7am!!!!
seven out of ten, staff a bit difficult at times but helpful.Wifi very sketchy in the rooms but ok in the bar area.Nice english breakfast
Good central location, but street noise at night was a bit disconcerting. The rooms were clean & comfortable but would have benefitted from better sound proofing.
Breakfast was well presented, but the room where it was served was much too small & cold.! If every guest came down at the same time, at least half would have nowhere to sit.!
Décor old fashioned and could do with new curtains that fit the window
Nothing is bad. Everything is excellent in this hotel.
There were no good views to my room. But it is a minor thing since the other facilities were excellent.
mostly friendly staff They were flexible with the evening meal on the second night - wish I had asked on the first night - my mistake as it was really lovely
hot breakfast was cold, the menu in the room was not the menu in the resaurant trouble with the TV access and volume - so could not work it out on the first night and tt tired to ask
Breakfast was very good Room clean and tidy but Could do with some biscuits with tea making facilities
Having to carry my own heavy luggage up the stairs no one offered to carry for me as I am quite old and not so strong
Very good and helpful staff Restaurant and garden very nice
No lift Only bar menu available in evening when I was there
clean accomodation, helpful cheery staff, well cooked food
Think £85 is too high, (£55-65 would be fair) and restaurant prices are also very high, some rooms overlooked by bus stop so no privacy....
not too far from the town centre.
unbeknownst to me, my room was tucked away on the top floor, but the staff did not offer to help me with my luggage. There are only two plugs in the room, and one of those is for the telly, so if you want to charge your phone, laptop etc, you will be a bit inconvenienced (unless you carry around an extension like I do). My sat nav didn't take me to the hotel, so i had to go round the road a couple of times
Friendly staff and comfy rooms
A little out of town and not walkable to town. Taxi took a while to get to hotel which was upsetting. Breakfast stated vegetarian sausages and yet they had none. Eggs were not on buffet and came very slowly. Fried eggs could have been available and others to order. Hotel has no lift and some very difficult stairs to climb. A lot of a rabbit warren. Would stay again but would try and find something more modern and cheaper
WE got a room With a noisy fan in the bathroom. Impossible to sleep. They gave us a new room. Thank you.
The hotel was very clean. The staff were very helpful.
The English breakfast could have been slightly larger. One sausage was a bit measly
Staff were very good. Breakfast was excellent
On the whole good, but I was in room 29 and I received a mass of bed bites, the mattress had seen better days and needs changing. Some of the furniture was in need of changing due to wear. Booking in was fine but was not told when breakfast was, so I attempted to ring down to ask but there was no directive to assist you letting you know the number.
Availability of the menu!! Both myself and partner had to choose something else to eat from the menu as you didn't have it.
Location and Breakfast
Tried to book a table for six from Australia (where we live) but did not get a response despite reminder emails
The rooms were very comfortable, and clean.
There was no lift, and the cooked breakfast took a long time to make.
Large room, clean and comfy with friendly staff.
Window overlooked the delivery area so a bit loud first thing!
Staff were really friendly and helpful.
Our room seemed to be above a kitchen and we could hear doors slamming early morning whilst we were trying to sleep. Therefore not a great night's sleep had.
Had a good time. Room was very clean and the hotel General clean. Staff were prompt even attending to the door very late at night. All in all I'll recommend this hotel.
Breakfast was late. Every other thing was ok
The staff were exceptionally helpful. Pleasant good sized room, big bed, decent sized bathroom. Excellent full English breakfast.
No fresh fruit at breakfast.
reception staff white bedlinen location
broken tiles in bathroom shower door not adequate dirty marks on bedroom carpet very worn stair carpet no complimentary biscuits in room
