Just 10 minutes’ drive from York, this 300-year-old, restored farmhouse is set in the picturesque, rural village of Stockton on the Forest. It offers cosy fireplaces and individually decorated rooms.

A modern friendly hotel, located on the A63 Selby Bypass, only 3/4 of a mile from the town centre. Our hotel also has a bar and family restaurant with a children's play area.

Was only there one night but would have happily stayed all week. couldn't fault anything
Made to feel welcome even though o turned up a bit late. Excellent home cooked breakfast
At south newlands farm the owners could not do enough for us,they were so kind and friendly and made our stay memorable.Cannot rate newlands farm highly enough and will definitely be going back!
walked straight into the farm living area for a very warm inviting check in . kettle on straight away. nothing too much trouble . loads of advice and help. so home from home
a seperate shower or shower screen with shower head holder.
Very nice place to stay in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, great location to explore the area, wonderful hosts, would love to stay again.
Warm friendly welcome. Pot of tea and biscuits provided on arrival. Excellent breakfast. Would stay again.
How much it felt like home The excellent hosts And breakfast!
Nothing to not like
The location away from the main road The friendly welcome A lovely cooked english breakfast Spacious parking
I would prefer a shower instead of a bath Like the look of the bedcovers but would prefer just a fluffy duvet.
Friendly & very welcoming even though I arrived later than expected; was immediately offered a very welcome pot of tea ! Being forewarned of the difficulty my SatNav would have was very helpful. Very comfortable stay & will return. Thank you.
Very pleased that I was able to book & stay at South Newlands Farm - only thing I would mention is that a larger lit sign might help find the Farm a bit easier.
You just could not fault it, facilities, cleanliness, food was excellent I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone who wants to stay in this area of Yorkshire, beautiful peaceful surroundings and very helpful hosts
Paid very little and got what I consider to be very good value for money. Small single room was spotlessly clean and quiet, so slept well. Breakfast was very good, nice bit of bacon. If you want a large room and lots of facilities in it then this single room is not for you and you should not expect it to be for the mini price. If you are travelling alone and simply need a bed for the night and a nice breakfast and be on your way, and don't want to pay silly money, you should find this more than adequate. I have paid double and had much less in terms of value.
It's a bit of a way from the pub if you fancy a pint or three.
The owners were very kind trusting people.
On arrival we were offered tea and cake in the lovely sun-room. Later, the hostess drove us, in her own car, around the city of York. We were allowed to bring own food and use her kitchen table for dinner.
Location, quiet, staff and food
Despite my arriving late in the evening, Peggy was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and comfortable and the location peaceful, with plenty of room to park my car. Delicious breakfast!
The warm welcome and easy manner of Rod and Peggy. No airs and graces at all, just wonderful homely hospitality, a quiet, comfortable room, fabulous breakfast with local and homegrown produce, sun room, tv room, barbaque facilities on a wonderful patio. Dogs allowed on request, depending on room availability. I felt at home from the outset , was welcomed with a pot of tea and biscuits upon arrival (included in the charge!) so welcoming after a very long and hot drive.and was made to feel that nothing was too much trouble.Ample parking, 20mins drive to York centre, park and ride close by although I did not use this service. Will recommend and hope to stay again.
Friendly welcome and good breakfast.
The peace, noone bothering you...if you asked you got and the couple who ran the place were very hospitable.
Nothing it was just ideal for me
Everything- homely hospitality, quiet, comfortable room, sun lounge and TV lounge for guests, fabulous breakfast with local and homegrown produce.
Hospitable welcome. Cup of tea and cake in the conservatory. Nice breakfast - English plus fresh fruit salad.
No WiFi - although I was not expecting it.
