The mantenance issues, while not a cause for complaint suggest that the management needs to pay closer attention to detail - even in a realtively innexpensive hotel.
This was my third stay in this hotel which is very conveniently located for Croydon South Rail station and the place where I do some training annually.
The good points - there is a kitchen for you to help yourself to breakfast, as long as you cook it yourself. There is a limited selection of cereals, 2 kinds of bread, butter, jams, eggs, bacon, sausage, ham & cheese for you to help yourself to (please wash up). The kitchen is open 24/7 so you are welcome to use it anytime, or indeed have breakfast anytime (and some people have more than one in a day but usually they don't). There are guest fridges for you to store your take away leftovers for the next day.
While there is a restaurant in the building, I've never used it as 10 minutes away is a street full of assorted eating places ranging from Dominoes (and their fleet of delivery mopeds) to some really rather nice restaurants.
On this occassion I was a little dissapointed in the size of my room - but as I was pretty much only sleeping there, it wasn't a problem. There were however a few maintenance issues that I left them a note about - wall lights not working, sink plug not preventing the sink emptying - but these are minor points which do not bother me much and didn't spoil my stay. In any case, I was barely awake in that room for long.
Would I stay there again? Most probably as it is very conveniently located for me and relatively cheap - especially if 2 of you are sharing a room.
