This thriving retail industry is one factor contributing to the town being London’s 3rd most important business area, so naturally it has its fair share of skyscrapers. Also tall is the red-brick Croydon Clocktower, housing the town museum, and attached to the town hall overlooking Queen’s Gardens.
Opposite is Fairfield Halls, a large arts venue behind which run train lines connecting East Croydon Station to London Victoria in one direction, and Gatwick and Brighton in the other. Modern trams also link the town to other suburbs. Croydon used to have its own airport (once more important than Heathrow) and its former terminal is a museum open one Sunday a month.
The town minster houses tombs of some archbishops of Canterbury and their summer residence was Croydon Palace, now a school. Much more famous is the BRIT School which has nurtured musical artists including Adele, Jessie J and Katie Melua.
The Croydon accommodation on Booking.com includes 4-star hotels with pools, guest houses with parking and cheap apartments. In the Borough of Croydon are Addington, home of an opulent palace, and neighbouring Shirley with its Grade II-listed windmill.

I grew up near Croydon and it has changed a great deal, It has good transport and access to shops. It is fairly built up in some areas but has a good community spirit and some older buildings do remain.
Coulsdon is in a more leafy part of the borough and I enjoyed staying in the Coulsdon Manor Hotel.

Everything was amazing but only reason I would not give a 5 star is because the curtains were not black out as advised and their were street lights right opposite window which was super annoying inside door did not lock either so put a chair infront for peace of mind. Staff were attentive, happy, and smiling.

The only small problem I noticed was the taps on the sink.
The only small problem I noticed was the taps on the sink. They were not far enough forward in the bowl, so difficult to get your hands, toothbrush etc under. Also the water therefore run onto the surface instead into the bowl.

I only come here because I have relatives in the city otherwise I would not be seen dead here - mind you, with all the knife stabbings that go on in Croydon, that´s always a possibility. A two word description of Croydon would end in hole!
didn't stay for breakfast but the room was very clean and tidy i think personally this hotel is overpriced could have booked a premier inn room cheaper for the same room comforts only reason i booked this hotel it was closer to where i needed to be had an issue where they tried to take multiple payments for the room which caused the card company to have to ring me at 12.30 am to make sure the card was being used by myself
The hotel is not far from city center, transport very reliable.Staff very nice and professional. Always willing to help. From the reception desk, to restaurant, to cleaners,,, service is excellent.Alim was a an allrounder, helping with laggage, taking my pictures, serve at the restaurant. Trisha always smiling and willing to help, also taking my pics. All the staff at the restaurant serve with a smile.
The receptionist was very welcoming. I arrived late at night. 10 50pm.
Nice clean bathrooms and rooms. The shower was really clean with good hot water and towels where provided
The bed and pillow was very comfortable.
For the price you cant beat this hotel! The high street is close enough where you can find everything you need.
Will definitely return next time I'm in south London.
You get what you pay for. And this is a cheap hotel. Having said that, I understand the high rating it has. Communication was perfect, everything was super clean. There was coffee, water, cookies, etc
The bed was not too good, but that is only downside. I’d still happily go back
The location was excellent being located in a quiet residential street and only about 10-15 mins walk from East Croydon Station and the town centre. It was reasonably easy to find once you had initially found it. Tea and coffee, a tv and a table and chair were provided.
A beautiful property and the location is brilliant. Your proximity to Central London and Gatwick is on point. Additionally, you are a stone’s throw away from West Croydon Station and the Shopping Centre in East Croydon. A helpful and very responsive host.
Very nice hotel, lovely lady on reception in the morning, I think her name is Monika but not sure, hope she gets the recognition, asset to the hotel.
Breakfast absolutely fantastic.
Room beautiful.
Parking was free.
Definitely would go again.
Very cheap and well priced compared to other hotels. All other hotels nearby were a lot more expensive and want to exploit customers with the extortionate prices. Extremely thankful to this hotel for giving us a place to stay. One very happy customer!
A great quick fix if your flight is disrupted at Gatwick.
As only 15 min train up from Gatwick and a lot cheaper than the Hotels there.
This Easyhotel is 5 mins from East Croydon train station & beside a sainsburys.
perfect less hassle.
I have stayed here on many trips to London, even when it was still Jury’s Inn. Proximity to East Croydon station is one of the reasons I keep coming back.
Breakfast was good also.
I didn’t like anything. Room is different form what advertised on Booking. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone, please save your money and comfort and be away from this!
Great location for East Croydon station, town centre and London. The apartment is spacious, very clean and comfy. The hosts are very friendly and easy to contact.
