I was really disappointed by the room. Indeed I booked it because of the pictures I saw on booking.com. On the pictures the rooms looked very new, clean and design. But it wasn't the same one at all in the hotel! The room was small, old and not design at all! The pictures on your website don't correspond to this hotel at all!

Everything very good except very squeaky floorboards in bedrooms and hallways. I have complained to the Hotel Group as it was imposable for us and friends who also stayed to get a goodnights sleep due to the noise of the floorboards. We would not stay there again

Location The Hotel description-eg. Pictures on the web- is very misleading. Could not believe the poor state of the hotel when I first arrived. I struggled to get in with my small suitcase as the spinning doors were tiny, needed the help of another guest - a member of staff saw me and walked away. Elevator dirty and very very small. Corridors smell bad - especially at breakfast time. The floors and doors are very noisy, could hear every single move of other guest. I could hear the other guests using the toilet and and talking. There were loud noises @ 4am, could not sleep. Ceiling peeling off, toilet dirty, bath tub with pubic hair. Fire system outdated. Electric cables showing in the bathroom floor.

The WiFi charges are scandalous, in this day and age 90% of hotels give it free, I will never stay there again...

We have stayed for many years now and have always been comfortable and happy with the rooms staff and meals,The advantage of being close to the Mayflower Theatre as we try to go to a show when we cvome to Southampton also if there is a problem it is sorted as quickly as is possible.

It gave the impression of being a four star hotel, especially from the interior. It was only when I was leaving that I noticed that it was only three stars. Up until that point I thought that I was getting great value for money.

Location and the pool. Clean. Paying for parking and although the room was comfortable the duvets on twin beds were small and only fit for children. Think the reception staff could be more welcoming although they gave good information.

Location was great, Breakfast was plentiful and worthwhile and the staff were friendly, special mention to the Asian guy serving at Breakfast, always smiling! If the price is right this is a great place to stay in Soton! Bar Staff not very helpful, cheaper to go elsewhere with a smile!

Whilst we found the restaurant staff, friendly, helpful and accomodating we felt that the reception staff were not very welcoming with one older gentleman not even saying hello or giving any eye contact.

I have stayed at Southampton Park hotel for about 6 times. It fits me by location, as I have relations with Southampton Solent U-ty. Location is good, prices also not high, the staff is very pleasant. Some comfort might be improved, location of rooms is not convenient enough. The most I like is a location of the hotel. Also the staff is pleasant, breakfast is good.

The location was ideal in respect of the shopping centres and Theatre. The view from the window was straight at a wall and the floor boards creeked everytime someone went past the room.

Reception staff friendly and helpful breakfast was on the good side and was edible Overheard management staff describing 'problems' . I was trying not eaves drop. All sounded very negative. One of the management staff kicked my luggage in haste to deal with something else and accepted my ironic apology at face value. Perhaps management staff need to take a more relaxed approach to guests? All the other staff members I encountered were very helpful and the room was comfortable. Concentration on the people paying to stay should be a given in a hotel. Maybe though I have spent too much time in American hotels where service, politeness and overwhelming enthusiasm are the norm. I might be making and unreasonable comparison in my my own mind.

“My partner had stayed at the hotel last year and really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, especially Paul on the reception desk, the cleanliness and comfort of the room and the excellent breakfast and a very relaxed atmosphere. Close to all amenities and good restaurants for the evening. We were visiting family this year and will definitely be booking for next year probably March. Thank you for making our stay with you so memorable.” Linda, Mariou Crete |
