The staff were extremely kind and made us feel at home.
They knew that I had driven fae london and took me 16 hours and let us sleep longer the next day, very grateful
Ample parking. Friendly staff. Lovely decor.
Everything was great. No complaints.
After having visiting two "let's-see-if-we-can-find-something-better" B&B's in Elgin, we arrived at this lovely place. Leaves nothing to be desired. Clean, friendly staff, and very close to food/shops. Wouldn't hesitate to go again.
Nothing at all
Friendly service Clean and comfortable Excellent breakfast
Friendly and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble. Great breakfast. Room cleaned while we had breakfast what a lovely surprise. Loved the paintings on the wall painted by the owner.
Shower was gentle but perfectly acceptable.
When we walked into our room at Southbank we were shocked at how large it was! The beds were comfortable and it was a quick walk to some delicious restaurants and fun shopping downtown. We loved Southbank and Elgin. The breakfast was spectacular!
The wifi cuts in and out constantly and really was our only complaint.
The owners where very polite and friendly gave us great advise to enjoy tipical Scottish entertainment.
the decor lovely ,breakfast yum , the room so clean and bed so comfy ,
the black pudding was over cooked.
Staff very friendly. Perfectly situated in Elgin.
Good location, interesting little street. Clean, many electrical plugs in room. good breakfast. Papers at breakfast.
The Wifi failed in the evening. Not owner's fault.
I thought everything was excellent and I enjoyed my stay. I was playing golf locally so the location and services met my needs.
A more powerful shower would be great, but I'm just being ultra picky.
Staff Location Clean and friendly
reasonable price, good location; available for last-minute booking (I got the last room).

We never got a chance to find out whether we liked or disliked the Guesthouse.
We had a most unfortunate experience with the Southbank Guesthouse. Just 20 minutes from the Guesthouse, where we held a confirmed booking.com reservation made two days earlier, we were call by Isobel, who told us that she could not accommodate us for the night because the guests occupying the room assigned to us had “decided to stay an extra night” and had “taken off for a day of sight seeing without checking out of their room” which left her no choice but to decine to honor our reservation. When asked why she had not simply removed their things from the room – as hoteliers do under like circumstances – she said that if she had she done this when she realized her predicament, she would have had to clean the room herself : the maid had already left for the day. Instead, she said that she had found us a comparable place at the same price. This was not the case: Southbank is in the center of Elgin and the place where she sent us was outside of the center. She suggested that, since she had not taken our money, she had no real responsibility toward us. If the Southbank Guesthouse can do this to people holding a confirmed Booking.com reservation, how can anyone ever feel confident again that they will not be dumped in the same manner in the future?
Owners, staff, room, breakfast
My boyfriend and I were travelling Scotland for 7 days together with my parents and Im pretty sure we could all agree that this was the best and coziest place we stayed all week! We stayed in the rooms at the top floor and even if they were a bit smaller than the rest, they were perfect for us since we like it cozy. It was nice and clean and felt a bit like staying in someones guest room. The owners were lovely and the price also included a great homemade english breakfast :) I warmly recommend this place!
good location near city center, 10 mins walk to bus station, 5 mins to railway. Therefore very convenient to explore the Speyside Whiskey Distilleries around. Nice small town with a huge 24/7 supermarket just behind the railway station.
I liked the friendliness of the staff, I was made to feel very welcome and my room was very clean and comfortable with an excellent shower.
Nothing to dislike.
