The Southbourne Villa  

Everything - it was great! David met us the moment we arrived, offered a much needed cup of tea and made us feel relaxed and "at home". This was so appreciated as we had just completed a 200 mile drive on the "opposite side" of the road. He then sat down and answered our questions and offered suggestions to guide our adventures for the next several days - all proved to be exactly what we wanted. The breakfast quality, quantity and selection was of excellent value. We have stayed in dozens of B & Bs/compact hotels in Europe, US and Canada and the service, cleanliness, breakfast combination provided here makes the Southbourne Villa the "best value for money" of anywhere, by far. I highly recommend it.

The owner was very hospitable and made us tea on our return to the hotel in the afternoons, we have never experienced that before and it was most welcome. Breakfast was excellent and rooms spacious and very comfortable. It is a bit of a walk to the town/seafront but we enjoy walking.

The Southbourne Villa is pleasant and the owners are charming hosts. From arrival to our departure nothing was to much trouble and their ability to give information on where the best places to eat was never a disappointment. A worthwhile place for the short break or a nice base for a family holiday. Been so impressed with the service received will be recommending to family and friends

The walk can be seen as a negative, but if you are aware that the pleasant surroundings are the benefits then the walk is a bonus.

This was our 2nd visit to Southbourne Villa, and my wife and I found it just as comfortable as our first stay. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anybody contemplating a visit to the Torbay area.

Directions supplied were excellent. David and Edna were very helpful and friendly for all our stay. They provided good information on days out and recommendations for eating out in Torquay and the surrounding area. Breakfast was of a high standard and served between 08:30 and 09:30 - although provided you were sat down by 09:30 then our hosts were more than happy to continuing serving until much later. We will be back!

The guest house is run by the owners who work very hard and made our stay with them most enjoyable.

The Owners were friendly, with excellent local knowledge and very helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable and the breakfast service was exemplary with good food.

The southbourne was a very clean , friendly and decorative residence. very good choice of breakfast, something for everyone. ample parking.friendly staff and comfortable beds. nice touch to have small fridges in rooms with a small jug of milk instead of the small plastic cartons. highly recommended.

Everything ,from the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home nothing was to much , the breakfast choice was first class , and my wife and my self had initially booked for two days but later we added two more days. The bottom line is we have stayed in hotels or B&B all over the uk ,but this hotelier and his lovely wife were so outstanding this will be the first review i have ever filled in , and i do so with relish .Top hotelier by a mile

Everything for us was perfect.

The room was very clean and tidy, located in a quiet area. Not too far from the seafront. The owner was very good had great knowledge of the local area places to eat and visit etc. Breakfast was very good, had a wide selection. Would recommend to anyone.
