This is the second time we have stayed and it has been brilliant both times. We will be staying again
The front of house staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. They were all young and we're doing a good job in difficult circumstances.
They needed better training and support. They were having to apologise for kitchen errors which they had no control over.
The hotel is well presented, the rooms are comfortable, the breakfast and the facilities are very good. The staff are friendly and efficient
We had to wait until 18.00 to move our luggage into one of the rooms after a late check out.
Pool and Sauna
Great value for money. Lovely room great location, fridge wifi, airconditioning everything working. Comfortable beds. It was the perfect hotel for our needs.
There could be more in the rooms, eg, kettle for tea or mini fridge.
Great stay at Mercure Exeter - great facilities and friendly helpful staff
A very long check in process and rooms that I had booked were released without checking with me if the person was coming
It was comfortable and quiet
Great breakfast choice. Efficiency of staff.
Dinner menu limited.
Excellent location close to the cathedral and shops. Comfortable room with a walk-in shower as requested. Staff are very helpful and made us feel special.
One excellent member of staff, Kelly.
The room and service were good
The leisure facilities need a real good look at.
Very close to the cathedral and city, but not noisy. Easy access. Room comfortable, nice en-suite, staff helpful. No hesitation about staying again
The curtain veil has holes. Need to replace it. The wardrobe door paint has come off, need touch up .
Location, staff and pool facility lovely
The dining area could do with an update
Massive beds Great staff
Everything as noted
Good location, clean and pleasant.
Lack of bottled water in the room. A four star hotel should at least have one small bottle of water by the bedside of each guest!! Shouldn't have to call room service for such a basic necessity of life.
The situation close to the city centre is excellent and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food and wine again are excellent but you need to take advantage of the offers to bring the cost to a reasonable level.
The cost of the wines is high - unless there is an offer available. The background music in the restaurant, although fairly quiet, is of a very poor choice.
Excellent reception staff - very efficient , helpful and however busy they were they never rushed dealing with your enquiries or the attention you needed. Also the dining room staff made you feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
That my stay went too quickly!
The staff, the breakfast, and the bathroom
The room was too warm and the duvet was too heavy
A friendly welcome. A helpful staff.A tasteful decoration. A cosy atmosphere. A quiet location. An up-to-the-mark breakfast buffet.
In the bathroom: No make-up mirror + You stand 70cm from the non-lit mirror when in front of the washing-basin!!No hairdryer (it'splugged in a drawer in the bedroom!). Practical details you shouldn't miss in a Priviledge Room!
great hotel, huge comfortable bed.lovely bathroom and good breakfast.
restaurant was very busy that was the reason i was given when i had to send my meal back to the kitchen which i have never done before in my life!
The car park the comfort of hotel
The grumpy, curt lady receptionist who checked me in - she certainly did not welcome me to the hotel; maybe she was having a bad day!
