Helpful friendly staff. Easy checkin. Very convenient carparking on site. Great central location. Short walk into city but also not far from countryside.
Reception area very nice
Dining experience. Staff unattentive. Food under par
Location. Public areas very good and well decorated and presented. All the staff were excellent and very professional.
Breakfast on Sunday was hectic with not enough staff to cope so supplies were low and waiting meant food was cold.. Very well cooked though! Our bathroom smelled damp.. Oddly our disabled room (not requested but very thoughtful that staff allocated us this) only had a bath so I was unable to use it even though there were many grab rails - (I need a seat to be able to shower)
Location, excellent for the city Upgraded room, which was of the standard I expected originally. Facilities were good. Staff friendly and helpful.
They prepared my room for the next guests before I had checked out, and then I was unable to get back into the room without asking the maid, they did apologise and said that I could still use the room. Think it would be just as quick to check that I had gone, as it was to deactivate my key.
Good location Evening meal very good.
Bathroom very shabby and tired Desk/dressing table handle missing Receptionist said bathrooms were due for refurbishment, fine but think should be reflected in the price. Considered expensive for condition compared to other Mecure hotels stayed at which were cheaper.
location and parking
Size of bed. Attentiveness of staff. Location. Parking good.
The pool and spa facilities were very busy with children which I dont mind so much but it would have been better if there were times for adults only. Plus changing facilities at one point were very full and there werent any private changing rooms.
Let me down by not booking my taxi as they had promised. This resulted in my having to rush to get my train. Not good for an 80 year old with an invalid wife.
Great location, secure easy parking.
Overpriced. Standard of room bore no relation to image on website, could have been cleaner.
Gym Size of room Cleanliness
Bathroom old decor and floral Staff not over welcoming
great central location with easy access to the centre
we were on the third floor with the window open and there was a lot of noise from revellers at 3am which disturbed us
Being able to use the room until 12.00 noon on day of departure.
The condition of the bathroom.
Location - very near centre
First room we were given was gnd floor staring straight at car in car park 4ft from window. Room smelt musty too. Given 2nd floor room which was fine. Hotel is tired and seats/sofas worn, old tiles in bathroom, paint chipped for £170 is grossly overpriced
Very friendly and efficient welcome at front desk. Quiet room. Good breakfast. Good value dinner menu. Very close to centre of Exeter.
Setvice and food excellent
Rooms dated, not maintained as you would expect from mercure. Cracked floor tiles in bathroom, paint flaking off bathroom ceiling I to floor, stains on carpet, family room with only one bed. This is not 4 star quality, but it cost me 4 star money. Felt let down my mercure with this one
Very apologetic reception staff, complimentary drink for inconvenience, already booked a room in another hotel, taxi to/from the other hotel to avoid duplicate car park charges.
At arrival we were informed our room was not habitable due to the previous occupant having an "accident". Other hotel was more in city centre so had a terrible night with little sleep. Still awaiting phone call from sales manager at Mercure as we were promised on leaving.
Staff were brilliant.
friendliness and helpfulness of staff and general cleanliness throughout the hotel. Perfect position for walking to the city centre and adequate parking. Excellent breakfast.
Hard pillows. Shower made a loud noise when turning on and during taking a shower. Room 251. Cost of parking quite high.
Location and friendly atmosphere
Getting woken up at half 2 by a drunk person.
Bar and restaurant looked very nice.
I phoned in advance to see if we'd be able to check into the room an hour early and was told it wouldn't be a problem. Upon arrival we weren't able to check in. Room had someone else's hairs all over the bathroom where someone had shaved off a beard. We couldn't check in on arrival and due to plans didn't go into the room until 10:30pm so didn't want to change rooms at that time of night. Check in staff charged £30 to my card in case of wanting anything extra during the stay then lost our card details and couldn't refund it upon checkout.
Location for Exeter town excellent. Good gym facilities. Good breakfast.
Parking was a concern as the hotel was full and so restricted our use of the car to guarantee a place.
T.V didn't work. Showers a bit dodgy.
We had a couple of snags with the supplies in our room. The manageress handled it well and provided immediate supplies plus extras and an apology.
Check out service had much improved from last visit.
Restaurant is understaffed. The very good staff there are, are rushed off their feet and this is unfortunately reflected in the service you receive. They always manage to remain very pleasant and cheerful however
