Score from 17 reviews Fabulous
The place was clean, sheets clean, food excellent. Staff friendly. We will be back next year.
When shower upstairs was used water came through ceiling of our shower room.
friendly staff, clean, quiet
parking was a nightmare and had to leave car on front street.
only £30 per night. ok for people on a budget.
The property needs cleaning, The furniture is dated and in need of repair/modernising. My bed had a dip in the middle where the springs had broken. The wash basin for some strange reason was situated about five feet from the ground. Booked two nights but only stayed for one .

Uncomfortable matress Poor & cramped bathroom layout Greasy breakfast
It was nice and cheap - you can't often find a single room available for a reasonable price. Also it was quiet and the room was moderately comfortable with some character.
Some fittings and furnishings were a bit basic and old but fine for the price.
This B&b requires urgent inspection. It should not be allowed to continue as a b&b for health and safety and general hygiene. I could not use the washing facilities and the food was not kept properly. ? fire alarms working.
Room, bathroom very dirty Toilet smelt.didnot use shower too dirtyBeds not made Wallpaper pealing off Bathtowels mat not clean Kitchen filthy greasy, food not kept in proper condition stalefood Could not even consider a cooked breakfast.owners scruffy in their dress.Curtains not hanging securely and filthy. A very unpleasant stay in all ways Never again
Scruffy staff. Scruffy accommodation.poor decor.poor maintainance.unclean room.
The proprietor was very nice and very accommodating The beds were clean and tidy
Everything!!! The awful smell greeted us before the owner did. The whole place smelt terrible of years of grease and dirt and obviously hadn't seen a hoover since the mid 60's. There was an inch of dust on everything in the room. The decor is seriously in need of an overhaul. It whole place looked very dated and badly in need of repair. After checking in we were told that the guests before us had broken the bed and burnt the carpet with an iron (and broken the lock on the door). We were told that the bed had been repaired (a double quilt had been folded up and shoved in the hole under the mattress) At breakfast we had to ring a bell to get the chef to come out from behind a locked door to order a cooked breakfast, he noted our order with a nod and went back into the 'kitchen'. Wifi only worked in the breakfast room. We were told our room hadn't been cleaned when we returned on the second night due to the door lock having been broken and us having the only key. The sink was cracked, the toilet cistern was hanging off the wall and the carpets were so dirty we never took our shoes off.
Breakfast Not Too Bad!
Noisey Load Of Workmen Staying There.Talking In Back Yard Till Early Hours!
Breakfast is good.
The staff was talking and laughing till 2am and my room was noise-filled. I could not fall asleep!
value for money, and free parking.
Position of guest house was fairly central.
Room was not the one I booked and paid for. Lack of toilet paper. Chaos and noise in corridors at night. Very noise staff in the room under mine, kept me awake almost all night. Was threatened by member of staff. Am contacting trading standards, the police, a solicitor, and will take legal action if necessary. Disgraceful. Little more than a dosshouse.
I did like to find this hotel when everything else was booked.
cleanliness of the room and the staff comfort decoration
Chef a gentleman and very helpful
Pillows not good
Good value. Tasty traditonal breakfast.
Cheap stay with Breakfast
Room is very old fashioned and needs to be decorated
Very dated shabby de-core. Old fashioned in desperate need off a face lift. Facilities very old and basic. Room very small with damaged furniture.
Ceiling had fallen in, and had just been repaired, room was dirty, shower left much to be desired, and mattresses were extremely uncomfortable.
We had everything you need in a b+b large room, clean bed, clean bathroom and even a patio door for us to step right outside with the dog. Breakfast was what you'd expect for English breakfast, slightly greasy but that's how we like it:) could of been bigger but still didn't leave you hungry
Was not enough tables for breakfast so some people has to wait. Apart from that we have no complaints and would stay again for that price
Staff friendly and welcoming, good advice of where to eat. Good directions to car park.
The guesthouse is in need of refurbishment
Comfortable place to sleep, good breakfast, good value for money
Beds were on the small side, tiny tv, no heating during afternoon/evening
was dirty, light bulbs not working wallpaper hanging off the ceiling. showers very dirty, no heating rooms cold and damp.
It is convenient for town, I stayed there previously about 5 years ago and was ok then, has changed owners since. There was group of 3 staying on this occasion.
Very run down room, at breakfast was greeted by chef standing like a statue, only to find 3 tables that all had previous guests used dishes, he said "I didn't realise it was so busy" 5 minutes later one of the tables was cleared for us. My friend asked could he have mushrooms instead of tomatoes, the reply from 'chef' was "there's not much call for mushrooms, the tins don't keep" (a bizarre answer) I do believe it's possible to obtain fresh mushrooms, and tins will keep for years if not pierced. Chef come waiter appeared like he wanted to be somewhere else, like bed perhaps.
