Unfortunately as soon as I arrived after a six hour drive, I stood in a Que for 10 mins waiting for my key , just as I was, two people awayfrom being served the fire alarm went off, all out everyone shouted, I stood outside with everyone else after 10 mins more in the freezing cold we were let back in, only to find I had lost my place with the 1 lady on the desk ! I was then given linen to put on myself? Anyway ok but having then seen the state of the duvet I didn't bother, when I got into the room, chalet it's was pitch black tried all the lights it didn't work, groped around in the dark until I found the electricity meter and inserted the card within my envelope nothing, all it said was card error, so I went back to reception stood in the Que same 1 lady finally got to see her Oh she said I'll send someone over, 20 minutes later still in the dark and cold nobody came. so I kept on trying the card, eventually after 10 mins it clicked on still nobody came? The heaters wernt good enough to heat the chalet, so any time spent in the chalet I had to wrap my coats around me. I could go on the sink in the bathroom was full of the last occupants hair these were also present on the bath and bathroom wall, the duvets were full of stains and the curtains were falling down, it was winter but the Windows were black with dirt and mud, I didn't sleep on the beds but used the futon in the living area , and covered myself with two of my coats, added to standing in line to pay for a breakfast that had a Que nearly out to the door ,in the smallest buffet section I have ever seen , it was 50 odd pounds for two nights so I guess you get what you pay for.
My compliants regarding blood on tiles in bathroom and very very poor quailty of quits and pillows; were resolved very quickly. It was ideal for us as we were visiting relatives and were asked to 'vet it' for other people.
Even though we were in a disabled chalet, the beds were very uncomfortable as you could feel and have the marks of the springs on your body. These need to be rectified quickly . The pool area was dirty espically around the paddling pool; the black edging needs removing as bits of it were getting into the pool and people with babies and toddlers would not like this substance to get swallowed. I would not recommend this particular Pontins to anyone.
Friendly an entertainment was good.. blue coats were great..x
No can opener an patio door wouldn't lock..sofa bed not very comfy..no heating in bathroom..only warm water for a shower..microwave had to do on the ironing board to be able to plug in as only 1 plug in kitchen
The beds uncomfotable
We were situated directly facing the mini golf so was close to all facilities. Beds and bedding looked new and room was warm.
Beds very uncomfortable and not enough crockery in kitchen, only 2 plates 3 cups no teaspoons etc.
The apartment was disgusting and dirty if we had not been so far away from home we would of gone home but we were 400 miles away. The place was filthy.
We needed somewhere to stay while visiting family and this was the cheapest in the area. The apt was basic but clean. It's certainly true you only get what you pay for! Once the hassles were sorted out it was OK. Would return again if necessary for the same low price (£29) but arrive earlier in time to sort out electric/sheets/towels.
Some hassle on arriving as the electric was not on in the apt and therefore no hot water and no heat, room was freezing. Also no sheets or towels in the room so we had to go and hunt for them. Usual noise from late night revellers you would expect staying at a holiday camp.
the room was disgusting and everything was dirty, the floor was very sticky, wont be coming here again.
No much except it is close to the beach
The Chalet was not very clean. First impressions - It had a sticky floor and old food splashed down the sides of the cooker and cabinets. I think there was filth around the bath panel from the last 1000 guests too. Attention to detail when cleaning was very poor.
The road out
The road in
We enjoy the entertainment and the swimming and parks
Well bathroom had mold everywere water leaking all over bathroom floor curtains half hanging off rail and all night all you could here was fighting and argument and no security around
Campsite and chalet was clean. Plenty for the kids to do. Good value.
Police outside the chalets at 3 o'clock in the morning, people fighting. Shower didn't work.
The price was good, I wasn't expecting anything more than I got.
The shower though requires a button to be pushed for the water. Not good at all, if fact very bad
Location was good. Enjoyed the pool, play areas and beach very closely
Had to clean the cutlery and crockery before use, found cigarette end when making the bed and in wardrobe, floor was sticky- cleanliness could have been better and more thorough.
Kids evening entertainment The live act Swimming pool Free breakfast The large play areas. The cleanliness of the rooms Free wine Free paper
The fact you had to make your beds up! The up keep of the buildings very poorly maintained ie drain pipes falling off ... & the paintwork needed some tender loving care!!
Apartment much better than we expected, great pool, shop and bar prices fair, friendly staff.
Looks very dated from the outside. Cleaning in show bar a bit poor. Very long queue at takeaway. (although staff were great despite being under manned)
very helpful reception staff on arrival upgraded our accommodation free of charge.
very limited places open to eat all new facilities were closed ate out all the time. there was a private event on so restricted to small entertainment venue and couldn't get seats.
Lots going on, swimming pool great bonus to stay
The chalet floor was so dirty looked like not been cleaned for ages.
We used it as a base for a visit to Liverpool. We only used it to sleep in and although the beds weren't particularly comfortable they did the job. It was cheap and clean. We didn't use the facilities but there was the usual mix of arcades, pubs and shops.
The place is 'rough and ready'. If you're looking for luxury this is definitely not the place for you. For £58 for 2 nights it would be churlish to complain. It had everything we needed.
Quick check in. Great location with lots to do for kids. Chalet was clean and spacious. Great value for money and would stay again
Good size chalet Plenty of things for children to do Security were very good
Electricity counter Beds were very uncomfortable Felt like we were staying on an army barracks
Kids play areas Didnt go to entertainment evenings or swimming etc so cant comment on these.
No Internet / Broadband / mobile access - need to get into 21st century. Not enough plugs in kitchen or bedrooms - can only use one item at a time. - Check-in process appauling! Chaotic, stressful, disorganised, frantic. Need more staff employed for peak periods. Butlins nothing like this. Stagger check-in. Need better eating out venues and food ie pizza hut etc. Need locks on doors high up so young children cant get out.
No bed linen provided and no warning that this is the case on booking, mattress and quilts were grubby. Booked two nights, went home after one night!
I did not like anything
I found the place uncomfortable when I made the booking I asked for a double bed and 2 singles all I got was 4 single. The place was not child friendly and entertainment was not included at all as promised for my kids there wasn't anywhere decent to eat as no one would take a card payment. I found the staff unhelpful as when I got there I was told my booking was cancelled but it wasn't as I paid in full 3/4 weeks before arriving. Couldn't make a hot for my kids or myself or partner as the kettle was a disgrace! Full of limescale. I found my whole stay at Pontins uncomfortable and unpleasant and I will not be rushing back.
