Very friendly landlady, only too pleased to assist. Excellent breakfast. Will use again.
Location was excellent
Location. Breakfast. Clean room.
Lumpy bed, dangerous broken tiles on steps up to front entrance. No shampoo in shower
staff friendly breakfasts car parking
v small rooms also could hardly turn round in the toilet was so small
It is close to the town.
'Superior twin room' ha ha - very cramped, no dressing table. 'Tea/coffee making facilities' consisted of a kettle, duralex mugs, plastic beakers and one spoon placed on a tray on the window sill. Tea bags provided were undrinkable, sugar in the sachets had congealed into one lump. Room smelled very musty and damp. Decor horrendous - patterned wallpaper, bedding, carpet; unfortunately all different patterns and colours. Wallpaper peeling and mould around windows. 'Free toiletries' consisted of 3 tiny pieces of CHEAP soap (that really is taking the Mickey). Bedding was so cheap and old it was almost transparent; pillows were so thin that I slept with four! Bedding seemed clean but there were stains and my bottom sheet was 'bobbly' and rough. The thin curtains were not sufficient to block out the light from the streetlights. The shower had no pressure, the showerhead needs replacing as the water was leaking out of the side. The shower tray also leaked onto the bathroom floor. No shelves at all in the bathroom, so toiletries had to be placed on the floor. Breakfast served from 8.45 - 9.15!!!!! Cheap ingredients badly cooked. How can this boarding house be described as a 3 star hotel?
Excellent breakfast friendly staff rooms clean
Rooms were very cramped
outstanding host, others could learn from her.
Change of towels daily Pleasant staff well cooked breakfasts
Lot of stairs for guest with mobility problems
The staff were very pleasant and helpful and our stay was quiet and relaxed. For what we paid the stay was very fair.
The b&b was very dated and smelt musty, breakfast was served with a smile and the manager was lovely but the food was terrible. Would stay again but I would eat elsewhere.
Very helpful staff with suggestions for finding parking places as we rang for advice beforehand..Substantial breakfast. I think the hotel was exactly as it is described on the website,Having read some very negative comments/reviews I can only assume that those people either didn't read it properly or expected 5* facilities for their money. Myself, my daughter and granddaughter found it welcoming and very convenient for the Opera House where we were going to a show. .
Parking was a bit of a trial but it's Illuminations so only to be expected
Difficulty finding a parking space
friendly welcomeing good food and delt with childs food aligly very well
no lift to upper floors ,rooms tired
staff were very nice, breakfast was good, location was fairly good
the two things you assume to be good in a b&b are the bed and the breakfast. unfortunately the bed in room 6 is worse than useless, the room was cold so the 1.5 tog rated duvet wasn't enough the headboard squeaked and the mattresswould`nt support a 4year old
curtious service welcoming Good breakfast very good value for money. Will go back again.
The lady was nice
The hotel only has 3 spaces for parking, which it don't state when booking. The hotel it's self smells damp and is very very dated felt like we stayed In a young boys bedroom. Didn't ask us how we wanted anything cooked on the breakfast and I felt so unsafe I made my partner put the small draws Infront of the door which didn't fit in the hole.
To many stairs staff did not interact with the guest at all needs updating all mismatched with a unpleasant smell rooms small and states it is licensed and it isn't the stairs are very steep and narrow and very narrow and heavy doors won't be booking to stay here again
Too many stairs and smell of dampness
It has an awful smell of damp, room was just ok, think it very overpriced.
it was a fantastic welcome when we arrived breakfast was basic but lovely room a bit dated but very clean x
good location. Room good..bed comfortable .. Nice and quiet .. Breakfast lovely .. Coming to you for extra coffee tea and toast .would stay again ...
can't complain about anything
Breakfast was fine.
Rooms & bathroom very small. Decor required attention. Not really a hotel - more a guest house. Not 3 star.
friendly staff clean and close to town
ther to curtains are thin the street light is very bright i was able to read in bed with no lights on in room and the curtains were drawn
Owners Bridget and Graham made us very welcome. A lovely full English breakfast was included . Their hotel was close to everything. Parking space was right in front of the hotel but spaces are limited so reserve it when you book.
Convenient for Winter Gardens Waitress polite
No bar area despite Licensed description. Room 18 very dated - at top of 3 flights of stairs Mattress had springs coming through it Furnishings worn and cheap More like Student accommodation than hotel. Breakfast undercooked bacon , tea served by the cup - sausage and beans were budget quality as were sauces etc. Overpriced - would choose Premier Inn next time and pay for a taxi
