Excellent Hotel, all staff were polite, friendly and always available when required. The room was of a high standard and very clean indeed. No complaints about the breakfast either, good choice and good quality!

We had a stressful journey having been involved in an accident after leaving the m6. However, we relaxed considerably on seeing our accommodation. It was immaculate. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had in a guest house/hotel. An early morning swim was ideal. Would book again in the future.

Extremely friendly and comfortable guest house. Nothing too much trouble for the host. Would have preferred to have towels changed every day and towels provided for the swimming pool.

We were made very welcome. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast good. Great value for money. Location really close to center. Just few minutes walk. No time for indoor pool this time, but great if you are there longer.

Hotel was a lovely hotel.very quiet had a good relaxing break would recommend hotel to anyone having a short break . Barry was very helpful and knowledgable reguarding eating out things to do. Just a wee point nothing major said we booked for romantic(honeymoon) break Nothing said to us on arrival like congratulations which makes me think didn't read our comments on booking form.As I said nothing major and would not put me off booking hotel again lovely small hotel

After a long drive we arrived to a very warm welcome from Kate and Barry. With parking proving difficult Kate showed us to our room then went and moved our car into their carpark. The room and whole hotel were extremely clean and well decorated. The breakfast was cooked fresh with a variety to suit all tastes. Access throughout the day was not a problem providing us with a good base to return to. A great guest house with very friendly staff.

We had a lovely two days break. The hotel was very clean and welcoming.Tony provided excellant cutomer service and welcomed us with some lovely carrot cake and fresh milk. The breakfast was lovely with plenty to choose from, including fish if required. We could not fault the hotel at all, the only thing that let the trip down was suitable eating places on an evening. We had a very disppointing meal on both nights at two of the local restaurants. If the Southview guest house provided evening meals we would definatley return.This is definatley not a bad reflection on thr guest house. All we can say about Southview is that it is good quality, exceptionally friendly service and a great location for a gentle walk to the lake. Service was top class

Great location for central Lake District. Enjoyed swimming in the pool every day especially before breakfast. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly and added that personal touch during our short stay. The excellent weather was an added bonus and we found lots of different things to do even though we visit the area frequently. The parking is a little tight, but was adequate for our stay.

Car parking was no problem at all and it was a lovely walk down into Bowness (only 1 mile) where we took a boat trip to Ambleside.

Great place...immaculate, comfortable and an excellent breakfast. Owners were really nice....and the added bonus was the swimming pool.....lovely. Would definitely recommend this guest house to friends and family. None.....would stay there again!
