Southview Guest House & Indoor Pool  

Facilities at the Guest house were excellent, Kate & Barry were excellent hosts with a wealth of knowledge. Rooms excellent and breakfast superb.

The staff were friendly and accomodating. They even offered us a different room for my children without us even asking. Fantastic customer service and very friendly.

Our only niggle was the pool temperature, it could have been a tad warmer.

My fiancee & I(we're Chinese) visited the lake district last week, we stayed in Southview for 2 days. Staff Barry and Kate are very nice and patient, and the full English breakfast is superb there. We enjoyed our time very much .

We have some problems with Wifi at the beginning but Barry helped to fix it later

In our room No1 shower was a bit small but would still go again

Quite a walk to bowness and the lake

Guest House location

I missed out on the point that South view Guest House has only stairs to the rooms and no lifts & it was really troublesome for us to carry & lift those heavy bags all the way to the room. I was unable to change or make alterations to my booking (unlike a hotel who would have readily acknowledged or altered the booking to suit the customer requirements)

Both my husband and I loved this guest house. The breakfast was the bets we had ever had. Who ever doe sthe cooking is very good The rooms were very clean. We are definately going back

Very friendly staff and good breakfast, got the attic room, which was fine for me and has the added bonus of nobody walking around above, but it is quite small and only suited for the solo traveller. Very comfy double bed and I slept for much longer than I do at home, it's also lovely and warm, no freezing at this location, speaking of which, it's a great location for Windermere train station and Windermere shops, but a good 15 mins downhill to get to Bowness and the lake, 20 mins uphill at least (I got the bus which was £2.15 and took about 3-4 mins). All in all a good guest house, good location, good staff and good breakfast. Would I stay there again? Yes.

As mentioned the attic room is quite small, but that's about it really...

Our lovely welcome and carrot cake! Comfortable room . clean swimming pool. Close to the town. Beautiful area, and just over a mile to walk to Bowness for the boat trips.

Shame I never got to see Kate to thank her for the homemade cake she gave us on arrival.We stayed 3 nights.

staff are very nice and helpful. Breakfast is good. Location is very good. Just few minutes walk to station. also just around 25 minutes walk to Bowness. Got a swimming pool as well.

We're only there for one night but the room and facilities were more than adequate. Breakfast was delicious and the location was perfect .

Extremely friendly staff and super comfortable beds

We received a very friendly welcome and the carrot cake on arrival was superb. Lovely clean and comfortable rooms, loved the added extra of the pool facilities and was very close to the town.

My partner was ill on the first night and as we'd paid for two nights it was non-refundable so we lost quite a lot of money. No-ones fault though and the owner did offer to give us a refund if he re-sold the room.

Comfortable stay, hosts very hospitable and helpful also knowledgeable of the area. Food was good and plenty of it, rooms were spacious and good facilities in the room. Close to local pubs which have good beer and food at reasonable price's. just a 15 minute walk to Bowness were there are more pubs/restaurants. also just a short drive to Ambleside and a good cinema/restaurant which do cinema meal deals recommend it.

Some people inconsiderate slamming doors although there notice's in the rooms asking you to consider others. Pool little small but relaxing having a long day
