I stay at Southview roughly every 6 weeks and am usually satisfied with everything however, this time albeit the holiday season it seems as if the hotel is catering more for famlies and after having a lovely meal in the restaurent my friends and I went to sit in the bar / reception area for a relaxing drink. This was not to be - young children and babies running around and screaming ( obviouly ready for bed ) and this was 9.45pm !!! I have also stayed at the Royal hotel and have never had this experience.I Do hope the management at Southview take on board the criticism as I am sure they will be glad of mine and other business peoples bookings come winter time.

Beds, location, things to do, clean, parking, entertainment, When we arrived we got booked into a room that we did not order, it had one double bed in and we asked for two double beds, and I think we were put in this room because ther was a deligation on with some company and they were in and out of the rooms all night going for a smoke under our window were as I had to close the window as the smoke kept blowing in! (Not good). The next night we got put into our origanal room that we ordered (same price) and also the staff were not english and you could not tell what they were saying at times and they would take your meal away before you had finished it. Other than that our stay was ok, had it not been for them putting us in the wrong room to start with. We booked two nights not one?

This is a very clean, comfortable deluxe double room with lots of space which we now need. Some staff unfriendly. The clearing away of used crockery should not be done until all persons have finished eating.

We attended a wedding reception and found the venue to be very good including the Blues Brother. Our room was a standard double which we found to be very comfortable, and clean. I found some of the staff to be unfriendly and unwelcoming. It is important as a guest that we are made to feel welcome and a friendly face with a pleasant smile would not go amiss. Also whilst eating breakfast the waitress was busy clearing the table before we had finished eating. I find this to be very bad manners.

very comfortable rooms, good breakfasts, most of the staff were pleasant not all. the two ladies on reception were not very polite or helpfull, not a smile to be seen. i booked an evening meal with them but when we turned up at the dining room no booking had been made for us and had to wait untill they could fit us in.as the whole trip was to celebrate my wifes birthday this put a damper on the whole break.

The room was excellent, we had a family meal in the Orangery and everybody enjoyed it, the food and the service was good. We had room service for breakfast and that was very good as well - we would highly recommend this hotel. We could have done with biscuits in the room.

Room excellent, very light & airy, bed comfortable. Lounge nice, access to daily newspapers. Facilities could be used at adjacent Park Resort if req. Ample parking, nice outlook. Not far from seaside. Spa facilities not within hotel, swimming pool was shut on the saturday ? why. Continental breakfast could perhaps have included cheeses & cold meats. Perhaps more variety of fresh fruits?

“The staff at the Royal were welcoming and friendly. The Royal ticked all the boxes for myself and my family. Although ours was only a weekend break we were sad to leave and would have loved to have stayed longer as we felt relaxed and comfortable at the Royal whilst we were also enjoying what Skegness had to offer.” Susan, Tamworth, staffs |

“me and my fiance went to the grand for the first time for a three night break over the bank holiday, although the hotel wasnt modern or fancy our bedroom was big and clean and had everything we needed in it, the owners were lovely and very plesant the breakfast is buffet style eat as much as you want bacon sausage eggs beans mushrooms and more it was tasty and enjoyable.unfortunatley due to unforseen circumstances we had to cut our trip short and the owners used there discretion and didnt charge us for the third night which was very kind of them as they wouldnt of been able to book the room out that evening and lost money.i would definatley go back to the grand and the location of it is fanrastic right by the pier but far enough away from the hussale and bussal of the town noise.would return and i thank the owners for there kind hospitality.caroline@brian” Caroline, Melton Mowbray |
