Don't be put off by the location when you first get there because it is a really nice place to stay! The rooms are modern and the hotel is undergoing further renovations at the moment. Great reasonable priced food at the restaurant! The staff was very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay here!

This is without doubt the worst hotel I have stayed in anywhere! The room was an ice cube, a large room true, but with both a tiny low powered heater in a corner where an equally tiny tv in this corner. Windows single glazed, double bed (two singles together) had damp sheets due to the cold. The bathroom was unusable without wasting 30 minutes of hot water from the shower to make it possible to use the room. Blocked an air vent that was partly blocked with old newspaper with a towel to stop an arctic draft coming in. Asked if could be moved to another room was told they were full but could have another heater, given this very reluctantly. My wife checked later on using her tablet and the hotel was not full. Room was not cleaned on the first night and was told by Booking.com after I complained that the room was to hot to clean. What utter nonsense and what an untruth! I hate complaining but please please avoid this hotel at all costs. If you have a large car, I have a small car, better to sleep in your car than sleep here. Staff were very unfriendly and not interested in anything except taking your money as son as you arrive and then letting you freeze. The breakfast as many reviews have said is equally appalling and useless. This is the most dreadful hotel possible and was so bad we left on the second night of three booked nights as we were so fed up with it. Avoid and please do not ignore this genuine review.

As was attending a course next door the location was ideal. The food was very good and the overall stay was very good. Price very reasonable, no complaints at all.

This hotel although basic is well worth a visit because it is quiet even though it is at a small airport, has loads of parking, the food choice and quality is good and reasonably priced. All the facilities in the room worked perfectly including excellent WIFI.

We wanted somewhere 'out of the way' for a quiet weekend away. This hotel was ideal. Excellent value for money, small, extremely friendly hotel. The service was excellent, the food was gorgeous, the room clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and attentive - and the owners dog is beautiful! Nothing was too much trouble. We were very late arriving due to the coach from London running late but the owner offered to cook for us even though it was almost 11pm. I would recommend this hotel very highly. Due to the location you need a car but taxis are available from Darlington only 10 minutes away. The hotel is situated next to Durham Tees Valley airport but the airport isn't very busy and we weren't affected by the noise. We would definitely use this hotel again.

Nice and quiet,lovely staff who were very helpful,we ate there oin the evening and the food was good. The breakfast in the morning was good with plenty of choice. We liked our room....which was a decent size as was the bathroom. Shall definitely stay there again

good sized spotlessly clean rooms, friendly helpful management, great evening menu with lots of choice, well stocked bar. Ideal base for walkers. Visit High force waterfalls and saltholme a fairly new RSPB site, it is excellent for children with lots for them to do. Will definately stay there again

Easy to find, pleasant reception, room very tidy and clean, easy to use and powerful shower!! Breakie could be upped to do full english for the price but still good, will stay again if still doing the competitive price! Thank you

The hotel was ok. The staff were friendly and efficient. Continental breaksfast was reasonable. Room was clean and beds reasonable. Nice hotel for a budget overnight stay.

Well it was the right price,comfort friendly nice staff ralaxing love to return in three month time,food was good,execellent marvellous.

Although the hotel is on an airport, it is surprisingly quiet.Rooms were clean and comfortable. Not the most luxurious, but it has everything necessary for a comfortable stay and they only charge £30 a night, which I think is a bargain. This includes breakfast, although this is limited to a few basic items. There is a bar and the hotel is run by a nice couple, with a friendly and cute Alsatian dog. It's a place I would recommend as a great value, restful stop over.

For the money it's hard to criticize.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Spa Hotel, the staff was very friendly, the food was very nice, and the rooms where spotless. All in all the Spa hotel is a very nice place to stay.

Uitstekende prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. Schone kamer, goed en fris bed. Kamer netjes, niet echt luxe. Gratis wifi. Vriendelijk ondernemersechtpaar.

Ontbijt: weinig keuze, karig buffet. Maar op zich voldoende, dus niet om over te klagen. Het is passend, gezien de prijs van een overnachting.

Basic but suited my needs from a location point of view, I needed somewhere to relax after a day's work and be near to where I wanted to go the next day. Having food available was good as I didn't need to drive anywhere for a meal.

Curtains were not dark enough or covering the window fully, approach to the hotel was not welcoming.
