The staff were fairly friendly. We stayed as part of an evening wedding reception. The buffet food was very nice the wedding reception rooms were decorated very nicely. Car parking was very handy. At £85 b&b we found the room extremely small... When we went to the lounge bar a member of staff said she was not serving, even though she was just stood there, which we found bizarre as people were tyring to be served, not good customer service at all. There was not enough room for the luggage holder to be put in place, just enough room to walk around the double bed. We had the worst nights sleep ever as our room was located near a busy fire door, the walls are far too thin. The bathroom was not very well cleaned or appointed one of the lights worked at some times and not at others, the bath panel was ageing with mould. Only a velux window, we felt like we were in a prison cell with no natural light, it was not a good experience. The breakfast was very disappointing, we had to serve ourselves tea and coffee...which is unusual for a b&b, once we could find a clean table to sit around, eventually someone came to take our hot food order, which when received wasnt what was ordered and was a very tiny portion. We did not feel it offered value for money at all, we would not stay again.

The hotel is in a historic Georgian building set in well-kept grounds. The main claim to its reputation is the building and its use as a centre for business meetings and weddings. It has recently been updated with contemporary wallpapers, and upholstery and pale paint over the original wood panelling which gives a veneer of being up-to-date. A selection of food in the bar gives an alternative to the Dining Room for the business traveller. The veneer of being looked after with the contemporary updating is not reflected in the rotten window sills, broken sash cords and bathroom faucets that swivel when you use them, or shower controls that are not controllable. Which is a shame, given the other assets of the hotel.

The room was very nice but when its only required for 1 nights sleep i think it is rather overpriced at £95 B&B!!

We attended a family wedding at the Hotel, the ceremony was lovely and the food extremely good. The Staff were very professional, courteous and attentive. The standard room that we stayed in was nicely decorated but very small, very little space to move around the bed, a small chair was in front of the wardrobeso you had to move that in order to open the wardrobe. In all honesty just because you can fit a double bed in a room does not make it suitable for 2 people. As we were only staying 1 night it wasn't an issue.Had we booked in for a few days we would have been extremely disappointed. We have stayed at 3* B&Bs and had bigger rooms. It isn't just us that felt this way other guests in rooms next to ours all said the same. I would understand if I had booked the room at the last minute but I booked this room 7 months ago.

food excellent was at a wedding and it was well organised parking the function room friendliness of most staff room very small and shabby for the rate charged some staff were quite scruffy - lots of tattoos and dirty looking shirts has to ask for lots of things at breakfast, not very organised: glasses, serviettes, sugar, milk ie basics

The bar area, gardens and restaurant are fantastic, we had a meal in the restaurant which was excellent and excellent value for money. The rooms are terrible, small, cramped, we booked a suite, yet there was n't room to swing a cat.

Staff very friendly and welcoming, Breakfast was accomodating and very good. I thought the bathroom could have done with being a lot cleaner, tiles over the bath and shower full of mildew.

The staff were very accomodating and were good at their job, pleasant and smart. Although I booked a standard room I was upgraded to a suite for the same price and found the room very comfortable and quiet. I attended our firms Christmas party and found that the area used by our firm had at least 4 other parties using the same room as us and it was very overcrowded and although the food was good due to the numbers it was a long time in being served.
