Downstairs and breakfast room very nice.
Encouraged to pay extra £10 for a quiet room which was fine but room nothing like photos on website and very old fashioned room which was ok (timber panelling everywhere and not what I was expecting) but bathroom horrible and in desperate need of a makeover, water flowing through the actual shower housing unit where electrics were and awfully dated bathroom.
the food was excellent and the staff could not have been better
The room to small and grubby the bed like a brick to sleep on small bathroom couldnt close or open window unless u got up on a chair
Friendly staff all in all a great experience
Room was clean, great and quite
Breakfast in the morning was a shambles. Food not cooked properly, waitress would not take your order and also forget things. Cutlery was not the cleanest. We were also informed at the Wedding, from our friends that the std of the food was poor and also some marks on Cutlery.
bed rock hard
Likes the friendly of most of the staff and the food was lovely
They never had and decaff coffee and the waiteress at breakfast was miserable also we were told at evening meal that we couldn't have a pudding as the chef had gone home !!!!
The staff were very helpful and polite. Breakfast good too.
Really friendly staff. No complaints
great food and service
room and bathroom were small and dated
Staff were helpful when room was unacceptable. keys were lost so could not get into another room...
Not enough staff Needed to wait a long time to book in wandering around looking for someone to help. long time to wait for the one meal I had. others could not be served at the bar - no staff available
the sex was better than I expected in a small hotel. Lady friends tend to prefer the flashier branded hotels - Premier, Travel Lodge, Breakfast was pretty much what I would want to see - but no Tiptree jam. Windows were more for looking through than opening.
Breakfast was better than expected for a small hotel
Hotel is a little worn in places
The hotel could be good but needs greater attention to detail. For example beds should be properly made each day.Staff wish to be friendly but they must also be effecient. Too many errors occur and was a feature throughtout my stay. A shame with strong leadership the hotel could be a pleasure to stay at.
Tha bar staff were friendly and helpful along with the night porter.
The matress in the bedroom was awful, you just roll into the middle which is not great when you're sharing a bed. The loft rooms do not have proper blinds on the skylights, allowing all daughter to enter your room at 5am!!!
The food was very tasty
The bed was very uncomfortable - the mattress should be thrown away & replaced. Main room needs a mirror preferably near a socket and be full length. They need more than one music album in the restaurant
Friendly & helpful staff. Breakfasts were first class
Uncomfortable bed. Insufficient wardrobe hanging space. Wardrobe key missing so had to leave door open
Staff were very friendly. Good Breakfast.
Room 27. Near some sort of water tank... gurgling and water flushing noises all night. Kept waking my wife and myself up so not a good nights rest at all. Travelling with friends who had shockingly substandard rooms and we ended up feeling sorry for them.
Very quaint property good location
Hotel is a bit dated and in need in the rooms of some updating bed was uncomfortable but the staff were good
Lovely room; very spacious and comfortable. Lovely comfy bed and great food. Service was excellent and the owners were very friendly and helpful.
Radiators a bit noisy in the evening but were ok overnight (reported this to helpful owners).
Was presented with a very warm welcome when I arrived and that same level of hospitality remained during my stay. My room was clean, tidy, comfortable and very quiet. The free wifi was a bonus although for some reason it seemed to stop working after midnight. The location was perfect for exploring the local countryside, although if you're planning a night on the town a taxi would be necessary. Next time I'm in the area I'll definitely make a point of returning.
No issues at all, although a choice of ales (even bottled) would have been nice.
All the staff seemed to go out of their way to make sure everyone had the most fantastic stay. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We really enjoyed the whole experience.
If anything, perhaps it was a little bit pricey for our double room, but having said that, you could say....'you get what you pay for'.
Staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was excellent. Good location. Had a lovely big garden which would have been great to sit in but weather had other ideas. Really large room with separate sitting area and TV. Great for solo traveller. Lots or free on site parking too.
The wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss. Fine in the bar area but signal strength not brilliant in rooms and wouldn't stream film to my iPad. Room was large but decor in need of modernisation, clean enough but a bit tired around the edges.
Lovely friendly staff, and great food
Good choice at breakfast
Low beam in the bedroom
