Location , Commando Museum
The cleanliness of the room and comfort of the beds
Ni wifi , the food at the restaurant
Good breakfasts. Spacious room.
One son found top bunk bed uncomfortable. Shower unit did not work well.
We found this a good hotel for getting away from large towns. It was a 40 mile drive to Loch Ness. The hotel is fairly old and sad, but the room was comfortable and the staff were lovely and helpful. The food was okay, but overpriced for the quality.
Quiet place, near to the mountains.
Bunk bed was in poor condition, noisy and unstable. Food overpriced (Ł10 for one box take away fish and chips).
Location is good for fort William. We stayed one evening and had a quiet pint in the bar, can't comment on breakfast as we didn't have it but the cabin was clean, shower good, and heaters work well. Would recommend for a couple of nights but wouldn't want to stop there for a week unless you were just using it as a base .
The locals use the bar and if you have children you probably won't want to go in after 7 as it started to get rowdy. Not a child friendly bar really but then again it's for adults I suppose.! Didn't bother us as we only went in for one and sat in the comfy lounge out the bar area where it was quiet.
All seems a bit tired, needs some investment.
Very comfy room (34) Spotlessly clean. Quiet. Very helpful Good food.
Rather scruffy and open car park. Wasps in the area of the Fish and Chip area.
Good place to spend a night or a couple of days in the heart of spectacular country
Tv didn't work. We were in chalets and all ok for that but cant cook no hob, no cutlery... But did have a oven mot but no oven!
Breakfast should be included
Saggy mattress; uncomfortable night's sleep.
The cabines are rather youth hostel style, than hotel rooms. The beds are really poor.
Liked the chalet.
Difficulty in comunicating with some of the staff as their English was not strong
Interesting commando exhibition.
location.accomodation was nice and comfortable.staff were friendly at check in and out.didnt have much to do with them as we were in a chalet and not a room.
no fridge in chalet.we thought it was self catering so brought food with us that went to waste.no cooker either just a microwave.this may have been an oversight by me and not checking the fine details though.
Plenty of space in the room. Everything you could want provided. Staff extremely nice and helpful especially the young man who served breakfast each day all alone, he worked very hard indeed and was still pleasant friendly and polite
Decor is very tired and nothing matches. Could do with a face lift and bringing into the 21st century
this hotel needs a lot of money, time and love spent on it.Too be fair a new owner was just taking over at the end of July 2014.
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were polite and courteous .
Very limited transport links to Fort William. Breakfast not included in price.
Good location and atmosphere.
A bit in need of an up-lift. Quite a few chipped plates in use and various trialing cables which children might pull.
Excellent beds Quiet
No wifi in the rooms Pricy for the services offered Not a family friendly bar Restaurant was empty and did not look welcoming. Better to eat somewhere else for breakfast and dinner. Old train station restaurant and the cafe were very good options!
Two of us were there to climb the local hills for three days, and it was an excellent base. The staff were friendly and the service good. The menu was simple but adequate for our purposes and the rooms clean and again suitable cfor our needs.
Nothing, given the price and location.
Superb location. Friendly, helpful staff. Tranquil location.
Restaurant closed during weekdays, however bar meals were very good.
This place only good for stopover for a break of journey because nothing much in this quiet small town
Lodges where excellent for our group of charity trekkers of Ben Nevis £99 per night, still don't belive we got excellent lodgings at such a bargain price .
The toilets next to the bar, reception and restaurant are in a terrible state and so is the enclosed area visible from the restaurant with the wrecked wishing well. Bar had some noisy drunks in about midnight, hold up that was us!
