It was very convenient the staff were friendly without being in your face. The room was big It is not particularly beautiful. The dinner was ordinary. Disappointing wine 'list'. I noted however there was a good selection of whisky (but I don't drink it)

Great friendly staff, nice clean rooms, very easy to find, good parking, biker friendly with very easy access to the commando memorial & a great exhibition inside the hotel. Only 40 miles from Urquhart castle on the banks of Loch Ness. A cracking fish, chips & mushy peas - I'll be staying there again. Doesn't look great from the outside but appearances can be very deceptive & couldn't get my tablet to lock onto the WiFi - What i'm trying to say is that i really couldn't fault the place.

The history of the use of hotel during ww2. Commando museum. Friendly staff. Heating in room did not work. Only a small, noisy fan heater to use. No running hot water in the ensuite. No soaps, etc. No bicuits & milks were beyond date of use.

Clean, comfortable, friendly hotel. Great location, lovely village. We had rooms quite close to the disco that went on until 1am. Not an issue to us but maybe for others. We went for room only however had breakfast anyway. Every item was priced separately even though it was help yourself buffet style which made it confusing and pricy.

The hotel is situated right where I wanted to be, just down the hill from the Commando Memorial, and is next to the station. The staff are friendly and very helpful - a most enjoyable stay. The Commando Room is a 'must' to visit - thanks for that. It doesn't appear to cater for Remembrance Weekend like it used to - too quiet for this 60 year old during the evenings!

I was there to do a few days of Landscape Photography. it's in a great location for that, most locations are in easy reach. The hotel is badly in need of renovation. Th carpets were looking a little threadbare and the mattress on the bed in my room had it's springs beginning to come through. The bathroom, while clean, needs decorating and the shower would only provide hot water intermittantly. As the hotel was operating on 'WInter Hours' and I was out before reception opened and back after it had closed there was no-one I could complain to.

I reserved online but was not registered when I arrived. I was given a room without on suite and the bathroom had no hot water. This was all I wanted after spending 12 hours in the mountains.
