I read all the positive reviews on the Sportsman's prior to booking and I agree with them. I stayed in the single room for 7 nights. The room was very comfortable and it was apparent immediately that it had been recently decorated to a high standard. Rob and Christine are genuinely concerned to ensure that your stay is as pleasant as possible. The breakfasts were excellent and due to my job they were able to accomodate early breakfasts without any problems. I disagree with the negative comment on the size of the bathroom to the single room. I was staying for business purposes and so normally avoid hotels that have a fully functioning bar for fear of noise, however, my stay included a Saturday night with a disco and I could not hear a thing. |

Attentive staff. Very clean and comfortable room The en-suite bathroom was the smallest I have ever come across. I am told that other rooms had much larger ones. |

Very friendly hosts, and locals made us feel very welcome. Unfortunately the landlady has stopped serving evening meals which we were unaware of until we arrived. Because of the hotels' location we had to drive somewhere every night for a meal which was the last thing we planned to do as one of us couldn't have a drink with our meal. |

A quiet pub in a quiet location, conveniently only 1/4mile from A38. Rooms are of an unusually high standard for a B&B and kept meticulously clean and in good order. Very traditional welcome with big effort to call everyone by their names. Genuine choice of a triple room and a single room to suit more flexible permutations. Very large car park with plenty of available space. Tidy breakfast with quality lean bacon. 10am check out is a bit retro these days, but on the up side you can check in at 1pm. |

Very easy to find and get to off the main a38 from Saltash. Look out for the right turn exit to Menheniot and 'kartworld'. A very quiet pub. Very crisp and clean rooms, pleasantly decorated. Small flat screen tv with excellent choice of channels. Large free car park with loads of space. Very close to station if arriving by train, check times well as the ones that stop here are extremely infrequent. Excellent for trainspotters out of bedroom window (they aren't particularly disturbing). The premises are good but sadly you start to feel they are valued as far more important than the customer simply being left to relax without being told what 'not' to do from the word go. 'Its your last night do not leave after 10a.M.' greets you on your bed (you will also be reminded in person to be sure you haven't forgotten!) Do not block the private toilet system. Do not move the tea tray as the kettle must point in a particular direction. Do not set off the sensitive fire alarms or you will be asked to leave. Do not be late for breakfast at 8.30a.M. sharp (no choice) whatever day of the week. Do not forget to lock the front door behind you. Building works at the moment - not a problem. Can only delete from a set breakfast. No menu. |

The kindnesss and attention from Christine and Rob Stock who were kindness itself when we got lost on the first night in the pouring rain and darkness after a delay in our flight by three hours and came out at 11pm ro rescue us and made sure we got to the Hotel. We shall never forget their help and highly recommend the Sportsmens Arms to everyone The place is spotless and the food excellent always served with a smile. |
