Just 300 metres off the A38, opposite Menheniot Railway Station, the Sportsmans Arms offers traditional rooms with modern bathrooms. Liskeard is only 3 miles away, and Looe is a 15-minute drive. All bedrooms at the Sportsmans Arms are en suite, and have a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee facilities, and a hairdryer. Some rooms also have scenic views across the valley. The Sportsmans Arms inn features a large car park, a beer garden with magnificent views, and a quiet guest lounge with TV, books and board games. The traditional bar serves an excellent range of ales and beverages. Full English breakfasts are served daily, with vegetarian and continental options also available. lovely friendly landlord and landlady, very welcoming and not at all intrusive. Free house so very good selection of beers/ciders etc at excellent prices. Rooms were clean and tea/coffee making in all rooms also hairdrier and tv. Pub was easy to find, just off A38 so very accessible for the rest of Cornwall. Pub does not serve food, except pre ordered breakfast but Hayloft up the road has a good menu. I have stayed twice and would reccomend it for good clean cheap accomodation. Doesn't do food, breakfast is pre ordered and served at 8.00am only.

Christine and Rob are very welcoming and friendly. They have a fantastic knowledge of the area and were able to point out places of interest to visit. The homemade breakfast in the morning was a great way to start the day and the room was really clean and very comfortable. I'll definitely be visiting again in the future.

The Sportsmans Arms was friendly and comfortable and very convenient with the pub and Sky tv just downstairs. The only diisappointing factor was that they didn't provide evening meals but there was a lovely English/Italian restaurant at the end of the road which you could walk to that was very good and reasonable too. The breakfast, which was not included in the price, was great though and very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this to family and friends.

We only stayed for one night but enjoyed the experience very much, there was live music In the pub that night which was fun-joining in with the locals. For an evening meal we ventured out to a local restruant within walking distance. Excellent.

Wifi signal is weak even though I was near the access point. Location is remote and a little bit difficult to find.

Easy to travel to Plymouth. Fantastically friendly staff. Good choice of beers and ciders. Plenty of parking. Cosy atmosphere.

A very clean and comfortable hotel, with very welcoming hosts, Christine & Rob. A lovely quiet location but still close enough to Liskeard and also the South Cornwall coast for days out. We stayed in the fabulously big Family Room, which had a large bathroom, and both a double & single bed. Breakfast was great, again very accomadating of our vegetarian requiements, nothing would be too much trouble! Sky Sports downstairs in the bar/lounge...what more could you want! We will definately stay again next time we are in the area.

Kristin and Robert was very good hosts, kind and helpful at any time. The price is very good comparable to quality. When you find quiet place you must visit the Sportsmans Arms. There is an information that the train is near the hotel but don´t panic - it´s not audible. In our room (No. 1) there was no table and only one chail. You can still use the Lounge but it´s not as private as you want. Everybody can use it.

Very friendly and accommodating with a modern, well decorated and comfortable bedroom. Also, although not included in the room rate, there is an excellent cooked breakfast available at a time to suit.

Christine and Rob were wonderful hosts and a joy to talk to. The room was beautifully appointed, comfortable and airy. Convenient location just off a main road in Cornwall. After a long day of sightseeing, a couple of pints downstairs at the pub capped things off. Very good breakfasts. Staying here was one of the highlights of our trip.

The people were extremely friendly and I could come and go as I pleased, no questions asked. I was warmly greeted and looked after throughout. My room was adequate and very clean. I have nothing really to complain about, all I would recommend is a slightly wider cereal selection for breakfast.

Made to feel extremely welcome by Christine and Rob the owners which, as a single traveller, I find very important. Both were very friendly, couldn't do enough for you to make your stay perfect and were happy to sit and talk to you without being intrusive. Nothing that I didn't like as it suited my requirements for the three nights I was in the area.

“Het hotel lag voor ons precies op de juiste locatie. We hadden een familiekamer. Dat was voor ons gezellig. We hadden voldoende ruimte ook al waren we met 4 personen. Het hotel was boven de pub. Dat was 's avonds gezellig, even beneden een pint drinken. Parkeerruimte genoeg. Kamer was voor Britse standaard goed schoon. We hadden precies wat we nodig hadden bij the White Hart.
