The uniqueness of the Hotel was fabulous the staff were friendly and helpful I thought the prices at the Bar were very expensive, even more so than London hotels, also if a little more attention to detail was applied the Hotel could become a **** Hotel |

The breakfast, staff. We were told that we were upgraded to a 'traditional' room, however this was a small room under the gables of the hotel - we were bemused as to what the standard of the original room was for the money! |

Spa was really nice, and people friendly. Yes far too over priced and not enough choice in bar and just could not get over the prices, Have stayed in 5 star hotels and the prices where much lower. £8.95 for one cream tea !!!!£10.60 for two bar drinks where in the public house next door they where £6.25 for the same drinks. |

The staff were very friendly and accommodating Lovely old world hotel. Room 4 was very small - could hardly move about. Poor lighting- just two table lights, one not working.. Not clean - pubic hair in bath. Dusty. Left note for Manager. Not heard anything so far and stayed there last Friday 21 August. |

Quiet, well run, couteous service, excellent Spa facilities. Dinner was pricey and the service at dinner on the Friday night was very slow. I expressed my disappointment on this matter to the Matre D' who blamed the kitchen staff. My view was that for each course when I spoke up the food arrived as if by magic. This indicated to me poor supervision of the waitresses who were failing to keep their eyes on the patrons. The Thursday evening with a different Maitre D' everything was fine. |

I was very impressed with the efficiency, friendliness and warmth of the staff, the breakfasts (which were outstanding) and the pool/spa facilities. I have wanted to stay at the hotel for a long time, but it had been rather expensive. The rate I obtained via bookings.com enabled me to stay for 2 nights with my partner to celebrate my birthday. I have already recommended it to a friend who is likely to use it for leisure and business purposes. There is nothing to dislike about the hotel! Although we went out for dinner (as we enjoy exploring country pubs and there is a plethora in the area) the food being served to diners looked amazing. I didn't have the opportunity to try the wine list, but as the restaurant is Egon Ronay recommended, I can't imagine that it would dissapoint. |

Amazing breakfast, excellent friendly and helpful staff. Room was nice, very comfy bed and nicely decorated. Excellent spa facilities. Some noise and some wear to decoration in room. Room quite hot as on ground floor (with windows opening on to street) so could leave them open at night. |

The Spa facilities were very good - the pool a pleasure to use. The cost was excessive for what you got. I have had far better value for money at the Goodwood Park |

The staff had a quiet friendliness about them with an eagerness but quite helpfulness. The pool temperature was lovely and warm and the air conditioning in the room was amazingly quiet. We will be back, probably with family. |

We enjoyed the time we spent in the leisure facilities and the fact that we could sit outside and enjoy a pre dinner drink on the terrace. The staff were friendly too. We felt that the majority of the staff could have looked far smarter than they did, that the interior decor was tired - both something that we would not have expected from a hotel of this standard. Also felt that the dinner in the restaurant was overpriced. |

Beautiful hotel with interesting history, tastefully furnished and decorated - historic but with all mod cons; friendly, helpful staff; comfort and good food. I was surprised and a little disappointed to have to pay for internet use - which has been free at most of the hotels where I've stayed in the UK on this visit - all of which were cheaper and less luxurious than the Spread Eagle. |

the actual building itself and the history.Bed very comfortable. Easy access to various locations. The lack of variety in the menu, certainly not good value for money, lack of monitoring in the car park when functions are taking place making it difficult for residents to park. |
