With an 18-hole golf course and AA Rosette Restaurant, this county house hotel has a quiet countryside location. Its outdoor pool, sauna and grounds make it ideal for a relaxing break. Springs Hotel & Golf Club is a Victorian Tudor-style house with grounds backing onto the Thames River for coarse fishing, and the Ridgeway Walk Lakeside Restaurant has lovely lake views and serves lunch, dinner and a lunchtime carvery on Sundays. The friendly Club House by Spring Golf Course offers bar meals. At Springs Hotel you can use the putting green, croquet lawn, or the hotel's mountain bikes. good food in the restaurant...although there was a mix up with our starters with another table. the staff dealt with the mix up well. the lounge area was very dark and a bit dingy and needed updating.

Spacious Bedrooms close to Wildlife Reserves. Breakfast although buffet style was hot. Dinner fully justified AA rossett.

The welcome at The Springs is always fantastic - friendly and efficent. We were staying as a surprise treat for my other half before going west into Wales. We took advantage of the curry evening at Bar 19 in the golf clubhouse which was delicious and filling. The full English really put us on until late in the afternoon too. There were a few minor maintenance issues that I passed onto the hotel reception on leaving which were taken in the spirit in which they were made. All in all all a very nice stay indeed and a fabulous start to the holiday. We will definitely be returning.

The room we had was exceptional. It overlooked the lake and we had a private terrace with a table and chairs. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of fluffy pillows. The lounge was nice for a late night drink or lager. The breakfast was a buffet which consisted of cerals, fruits, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit juices, tea, coffee, croissants, pastries, etc. Very nice buffet. The restaurant at the hotel was formal. Men were asked to wear a sports coat and tie. We didn't travel with any formalwear. We had a really nice meal in Oxford which is really nearby.

The staff are so friendly and the room and food are excellent, we were travelling to Wales and this was half way to where we were going so a nice relax before continuing the next day.

The location The windows were dirty in the room. The meal was average and considering it was our wedding night and the hotel knew that, we had nothing special done for us. When we went to dinner the flowers on the table were dead and we had to ask the staff to remove them. We were then served the wrong meal. The hotel location is lovely but the whole experience was of a hotel past its best.

quality is what we are after - that is in staff, service and bar/restaurant. All achieved to a high standard. a card swipe system for the "controlled" door to the bedrooms would be a step forward. A couple of times it took a while to get through

Good hotel. Would have been very good for a little effort sorting the details issues out. It was a good hotel let down by some small points. No plug in the wash basin. Asked if one could be fitted shortly after arriving. A plug didn't fitted, but nor was there any feedback, which make s you feel that no-one real cares. Bedside light switch wasn't working. The switch itself was broken which just adds to the overall view of the details not being sorted.

Beautiful location, relaxed friendly atmosphere. Not at all stuffy. Well kept interesting golf course with very good value twilight (after 2PM) green fee!
