Close to the town centre and Ayr Racecourse, this small, family-run hotel is just metres from Newton-on-Ayr Railway Station and within easy reach of Glasgow Prestwick Airport. The well-appointed and comfortable en suite rooms provide good, clean accommodation at a competitive price. In the mornings, breakfast is served in the comfortable lounge bar. This area can seat up to 20 people, and is used for showing live sports and hosting darts competitions. Bar meals are available during the day. The St. Andrews Hotel has a convenient location between Ayr's town centre and Prestwick. Ayr Racecourse is just 0.6 miles (1 km) away and Northfield Bowling Centre and the many world-class golf courses in the area are also within easy reach. The station offers direct rail links to Prestwick and Glasgow. There is also a direct bus service with a stop directly outside the hotel. Free private parking is available on site. The warm welcome, and friendly helpful, the warm room, big bathroom, right next to the station Forgot to realise I had to be up at 430am and was put into a room on the groundfloor next to the bar it was a saturday night and a bit noisy til late, to be expected though but will remember next time!

Very friendly staff and willing to answer questions and help you along if needed. Near to beach and easy to get down to Ayr centre and to Prestwick centre. X77 from and to Glasgow stops infront of the hotel: very convenient. Slept ok, but matresses on beds were quite soft.

It was very freindly, curteuos & reasonable. Good food & service. The room was very very cold. I had turned the heating up full, when I went to bed I woke up during the night & had to take a duvet cover off one of the other beds to keep me WARM.

I liked the staff and liked the fact everything we wanted was in our hotel. They have a bar and do meals that are lovely and cheap. I have stayed at this hotel twice now and recommend it to anybody. perfect!

great bar that was very well stocked up. good breakfast , newly refurbished rooms and bathrooms damp smell in room when we first arrived, mybe airing the room before guests arrive would help but only noticed it at first.

i was as traveling alone and at st andrews i felt secure and quite at home and relaxed . i would return. cant complain it was all i expected for one nights stay ...and more . yes i was looked after .

The land lady was most accomadating as we were leaving about 6 oclock and the breakfast only started about 8 oclock (sunday ) she made up a big pack of sandwiches for us and fellow travellers.

nothing really, bed was to small hard and uncomfortable breakfast was good, but a member of staff was cleaning one of the tables while we were having breakfast, he sprayed cleaner onto the table and the smell was lingering over our table. this should be done after the breakfast is finished.the member of staff was also taking dishes away from another table 3 times while we were having our breakfast

Stayed in room 8 and the wind noisely whistled through windows all night so didn't have a good night sleep! That is my only complaint.
