It was warm and clean
Location was good but that was the only thing
Everything. No staff presence. No presence of cleaning staff. Wall paper moldy and some starting to come off the walls. Freezing cold rooms. Shower was broken. VERY HIGH PRICE AND NO BREAKFAST INCLUDED!!!!! Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. It was disgusting. And for the price we paid I am a very disgruntled customer!!!!!!!!!!!!
bathroom outside room
Close to town
Towels werent changed. Cleaning person left key in the door after cleaning the room. A bo0it over priced for what it was like
The location and the tartan carpet
Our room was a modern extension to the Victorian house, it was far too small for a twin room for two adults. The beds were good enough for kids but poor quality for adults to get a decent nights sleep. There was not enough space to move around the room comfortably and nowhere to put our luggage. The TV did not work either in the room or in the sitting room. Fixtures were falling off the wall in the shared bathroom and the tap on the hand basin was so loose we expected it to come away. . We expected to share the bathroom with the guests not with staff at 5.00am in the morning as they noisily used a laundry room and discussed how they were knackered and only wanted to get some sleep. On the morning we left I spoke with the cleaning lady who was very kind but no one from management was around to talk to. The most expensive nights of our 3 week holiday and we stayed in hotels most of the trip not just guest houses.
I thought it was pretty expensive and then discovered it didn't include any breakfast !! Most folk booking a B&B expect to have breakfast.
No private facilities and the family was separated - one room upstairs the other down stairs. Downstairs room bed very cheap.
We were told we would be in St Anns Guest house at the rear of the property overlooking the garden, we were put in a property next door at the rear of the property in a very small room overlooking a brick wall & a flat roof littered with building debris, the curtains were trailing on the floor by 12 inches & would not slide on the runners, there was no building plan on show to let us know how to vacate the property in case of an emergency & I did not see any emergency exit signs,
The room itself was very clean.
Shared bathroom between approx. 4 rooms. People coming back from the pub, noisy and drunk at 2am. The room was very small. It was very expensive at £74 for the night - especially as breakfast wasn't included and you shared the bathroom.
The Continental Breakfast was very nice The Location was great
No Hot water in the Room
+linens clean and plentiful +parking nearby
-shower either really cold or really hot with poor water pressure -remote did not work -had to move car at 9am
My partner and I got a double room with shared bathroom for three nights. We were worried about the bathroom but it turned out to be very clean, and rarely occupied. The lady who showed us to our room was friendly and welcoming, and the sheets were clean and changed daily. Fab location.
We booked to stay at St Anne's, but on arrival were told we were next door in Glencorms. The room was tiny, with only a bed and a sink, no shelves, cupboards, drawers! This was tricky for us as we were touring Scotland for two weeks and so had loads of luggage. There was very little space around and under the bed, so most of our clothes ended up on the floor, where we noticed quite a lot of hair around the bottom of the curtains. We were unable to access the wireless throughout our stay, and when we asked a member of staff about this she was very rude! This was incredibly inconvenient as we had a number of online bookings for excursions.
Location . shower good.
Room dark and dingy. No wardrobe and nowhere to hang clothing.window broken. Tv lounge awful. Old furniture badly set out . wouldn't want to sit in it! no facilties for breakfast.
Availability in an otherwise booked out Oban.
Though clean, much in the room and adjoining bathroom (no ensuite) was stained or broken. Locks on doors were in poor condition. Stayed two nights and room servicing was substandard. All this for £85/night. Book early and elsewhere. This property needs attention.
Comfy bed, good Central location, good shower.
The owner was very curt bordering on rude, however the young woman who seemed to be doing all the work was more polite and welcoming!
- When I arrived my room hadn't been cleaned and I had to complain and switch rooms. - On my 3rd night it was only partially cleaned and tea/coffee not replenished. - Very poor value for £119/night
Very central location in Oban, ideal for trips to Isle of Mull, Isle of Iona, Glencoe, etc. It was very clean and well maintained
The room was very small indeed, but I'd still consider it good value for money The breakfast option seemed rather expensive, so we just paid for the room and had breakfast in a local café, which was cheaper
Ideal location for where we going to catch ferry to Isle of Barra
Guest House itself did not feel welcoming
the owner is friendly but has left the hotel in poor decorative orders
the family was very cramped and not very good decorative order
Nice big room. Close to town.
In town, convenient if no car, quite quiet
Disorganized, small room , dirty carpet, nobody was availing themselves of breakfast. Wonder why? Manageress was not welcoming , seemed out of her league, never saw her after first encounter. Showers were dangerous. Water would run hot then cold alternating every 10 seconds or so. When it got hot it was far too hot .
The location to the downtown
When we got to the hotel we were two couples. The girl at the desk was so business like and unfriendly we were discouraged and if we hadn't prebooked with booking.com we would not have stayed there. We knew we would have to pay because of the cancellation clause. She didn't look up at us and kept going through sheets of paper trying to find our bookings. She found our friend's and not ours. I tried to show her that I had a reservation but she quite frankly said that was no good to her. After looking through more papers she did find ours and said she had no room at St. Anne's but we could go next door. We were so insulted by her attitude that we told her we would stay only two nights rather than the three we booked because we thought we could cancel up to two days. She said we could only do that if we contacted booking.com. We went to the room and tried to cancel the third night but could find no where on your site to cancel part of a three day reservation. We decided to stay there and use it as a lesson. We were put on the ground floor where we had to go out into the foyer to get to the bathroom which had a toilet and sink. To have a shower we had to go upstairs and share with five guest rooms. This may sound trivial to some but it wasn't what we expected with cleanliness or hospitality. If you are looking for a hostel St. Anne's would be great but you pay hotel prices.
Didn't get room we booked. Were taken to another guest house two doors along from St Anne's. Room was reached through a disused lounge and kitchen. had no curtain on window, light fittings hanging off ceiling and no mirror in bathroom. When pointed these out to staff member all she said was "well I'm busy just now, what do you want me to do!"
Good rooms and clean room.
No breakfast included in price and parice was 7 pund for continetal and 9 for full breakfast per persion no reductuion for family or childeren. Price to high for the stay as it is a small town in the countryside. free wifi exists but does not work in all rooms.
Location excellent. Clean and all the services you could need. Parking nearby, pay and display from 9.00am to 6.00pm but not expensive and we were out and about at these times. Room only but an excellent breakfast at Rubens Cafe just down the road for £4.00 with tea. Overall excellent value for money. We will be back next year.
