We had booked two beds in a four bed dorm for three nights through booking.com. Upon arrival, we were told that this was an overbooking, and supposedly an email was sent to booking.com to inform us, however we never recieved such an email. We were told we had been "upgraded" to a twin bedroom for the first two nights, but they didnt have any free beds for us on our final night. Additionally, we were to pay the same price that we were going to pay for three nights, for the two nights in the twin bedroom. We reluctantly accepted this, as we didnt want tOohave to spontaneosly find a place to stay for that night.
Regardless of this, the room was definetly below standards. Terrible lighting in the bathroom, only one of the three windows could be opened a little bit, and that window wasnt lockable. There were no bins, and only one powersocket. Beds were uncomfortable and loud. Doorframe was badly damaged, could have easily been kicked through from the other side. Walls were stained from previous guests. And windows were so thin, it was impossible to sleep longer than 8am due to the noise from the street. And wifi was only available on first two floors. Staff was also not very helpful in finding a place to stay for the last night, we were just directed in a general direction where more hostels can be found.
We're not normally the type of people to complain or write comments on pages like this one, however we felt so badly treated, that we found it neccesary to write this.
The last night we stayed in the yha hostel next door, which was absoluetly brilliant and we'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place in a similar location.
Seafront Location, the only reason this hostel gets any points at all.
