Location is central, makes it easy to explore brighton or whatever you need to do. The staff are helpful and nice, and room was okay. I got what i paid for, which is fair.
The bed was a bit too small and the room was hot and stuffy, but there is a big window so just open the window and let cool air in.
Stayed in a 6 bunk female dorm. Small and clean. Good value for money.
The view from the window would be awesome if the window had a wee clean :)
Heavy renovation work. Basic items missing in bedroom (lamp or switch accessible from bed, garbage can, soap). Comforter on bed clearly not changed at every change of guest. Overall building in decadent conditions.
Great location for closeness to everything, the staff were friendly and very helpful, the rooms and beds are also very comfortable
The only thing I didn't like was the noise, there's street noise at weekends due to location, and a really annoying bang from a fire door that people were passing through, sometimes every few minutes which is not great when trying to sleep
The guy at the counter was very helpful and lovely. The overall state of the hostel was great. And it was lovely that it was located almost right on brighton pier.
The fact that 2 of the guys coming in late in our dorm smoked pot in the bathroom, had a loud chat out there and wasn't very respectful of others staying in the room. But I guess thats just how it is to stay at a hostel.
I stayed just one night in 6 females domi room, the room is small but i just stsyed with 2 more girls so it was totally fine. The wifi supposed to work just in public place but I had a signal so I could use it which is very good! I think it is defenatelyworth compare with prices.
1.They threw my food-bag away from refrigerator. There is new butter, new jam, clean lunchbox in my food-bag.my English is out very well,so I can't speak quickly. When I had a complain with the reception stuff, She just said she's not the boss. Don't speak to her, and she alway said "go out"2.They have lift but I never saw that's turn on. 3.They have vending machine, but sometimes that's broken. 4.The carpet with some hole. 5.One day they was painting the house door so I should closed my nose.
Price Tidy Bathroom
Excelent value for money, great room with four individual beds and room was clean and tidy would recomend an would stay again.
The location the wifi and facilities.
the bar downstairs is quite noisy, really noisy and lasts until early in the morning...
In front of the beach and next to the shopping zone. Everything is close.
The lift wasn't working.
Great location and amtosphere.
The location is excellent, right opposite Brighton beach. For a young traveler, this place is just perfect, since there is a pub and nice music during the night. Staff is good, and the breakfast also quite filling. Rooms are clean and tidy
When I arrived for the check in, my bed was occupied by another guest, so I was given another bed without any kind of apology. The worst happen during the night though. I paid for a bed in a female dormitory, and the girl who was sleeping in my bed brought a man in the room, who slept over the night and stayed there in the morning. I wasn't able to do my things comfortably, since there was a man in a supposedly female bedroom. When I complained with the staff, the guy was really comprehensive and sorry, he went in my bedroom asking the male guest to leave, but then when he realised that the two of them were usual customers he didn't do anything. I still don't understand where the difference is and why a usual customer can do whatever he wants. Anyway, I hope they will be more careful in the future, because if they don't have the control over their guests, anyone can enter and create more serious issues.
- Best location possible. Room had a seaside view, really close to the Pier and the Esplanade; - Good breakfast; - Spacious room, clean beds, nice building; - Great bar downstairs.
It's a nice place to stay in ressionable money
location is awesome, just right in front of Brighton Pier. One of the cleanest hostel I have stayed in, the bathroom is big too. Like the colour match of the room, especially the burgundy coloured bed sheet. Also, there is heated towel rail in the bathroom!
The pillow is a bit flat to my liking. The shower drain is clogged. It costs 2 pounds to rent the towel, a bit more expensive and the price wasn't mentioned anywhere. Don't like that the staff placed me in a room with no other people, even though some may take this as an advantage, but I would prefer to stay in a room with other people so that I wasn't bored throughout the night.
Located very close to the Brighton pier. Breakfast was quite okay for this price.
The staff was not very motivated. There was nobody in the reception when I needed it.
Great location, right opposite the pier and around the corner from the lanes. We were on the 4th floor so didn't hear any noise from the bar. Elevator didn't work on ground floor so we just took the stairs each time as didn't have much luggage. We were in private room which had own bathroom, towels, linen, tv, desk. Couldn't fault it for price we paid - booking.com had advertised a very low price so I booked it, only to be emailed by the manager of St Christophers a couple of weeks later saying the price I had booked at was a mistake and the actual price should have been 10x more! After a few emails back and forth I would like to give full credit to the staff at St Christophers for their professionalism and honouring our original booking and price.
Only problem was that the radiator couldn't be turned down. We were in a room right at front of building and it was really windy and rainy so couldn't open windows - so ended up being so hot in room!
not a lot,breakfast OK
NOISE, not enough showers
Hot showers, wifi, breakfasts, location and staff
Little bit noisy for me but then again I am 65 years old and have been there and done that
The staff were all very welcoming and friendly, especially Paul! We didn't get moaned at for noise as you in a hotel...there was a big group of us away for a birthday. The rooms were simple but had everything you would need and the hostel is right next to the pier and clubs. The bar down stairs was very cheap and had a good atmosphere and was good to drink at before we went out.
There was nothing we didn't like, excellent stay at a bargain price! :-)
Discotheque on ground floor, I could sleep well though
Staff were excellent
The doors kept slamming. Building maintenance was very poor
