Score from 3268 reviews Fabulous
Incredible view over Edinburgh, Directly across from Edinburgh Waverley train station, easy access to Royal Mile
Room was on 5th floor and lift was broken (and apparently that way for quite some time) and being in this room would be hard for some if they had trouble climbing stairs to the 5th floor.
WiFi and shower roon is awful
Location, views, staff
Cleanliness, services to be improved, the room was too hot and on top floor(the roof was quite low!)
Proximity to station and central Edinburgh. Good breakfast. Kettle hairdryer and towels in room. Warm room.
Quite seedy decor. Shower did not work very well. Noisy plumbing.
the staff, the bar, the rooms even had chairs in them. location overall very nice
it would have been nice to have hooks to hang your coat or shirt on for convenience.
Very convenient location for New Town and Old. Clean and condition OK. Good views.
They have an optional online booking system. Regrettably, it charged me £2.33 more than my original booking (also stated on the online booking print out). The receptionist did not know the answer and would ask the manager later. Unfortunately I hadn't time to see them again.
excellent Location and very friendly staff
Staff and cleanliness
Lift was out of order
I had to pay GBP102 for a tiny room on fourth floor no elevator in a youth hostel environment. This was the worst value for money I had for a hotel in my life.
Amazing location from both the train station and to access the sights and shops of the city. Good value for money.
The hostel looks tired and slightly dated inside but has everything you need. The lift was out of order during my entire stay so be prepared to carry your things up several sets of stairs. Generally clean and tidy. For the cost I wouldn't expect much more.
Wifi only in chill room and level 1. No lift
The location was excellent.
The radiator doesn't work enough.
cheap price, good location, free breakfast were good.
I can't use mobile in the room.
The location of the hostel is perfect, 15m from the city's main train station, 2 minutes walk from the old town. Perfect for a short stay. The staff is nice and welcoming. A special thanks to the bolivian cleaning team which was leaving, they were amazing, lovely and very helpful.
The place is situated directly over the train station, so in the morning, expect some noise. The windows of the room I was in did not open and close properly. Property was okay, no perfect but it's a hostel, what do you expect.
The place was clean, tidy, I stayed in a 10 bed female dorm, everyone was considerate, quiet, the bed was comfortable and it was warm
Nothing, no complaints
The only thing I like was the location
It is an awful place. Very dirty, Thers is no ventilation, lack of space and light. Everything is dirty, they dont give you clean sheets. Breakfast looks also very dirty. It is not nice decorated. I felt very uncomfortable all days I was there.
The staff was really helpful and friendly. The location was perfect, close to the train station and the old town.
The breakfast coffee was not really good. Cleanliness was an issue, too.
It was perfect!
All kinds of age groups, so everone fits in. Great place to meet great people. Short distance to everything. Helpful staff! (They help you with quite alot). Simple and good breakfast.
The bed was to short for my boyfriend, which is 190 cm tall. Some of the toilets just did not work.it should be more showers to choose from, so you do t have to stand in a line.
location is really good and it is value for money
what you get from what you pay for
I only took my student ID which as I hale from the UK is never usually an issue when I stay at other youth hostels. However, I got a lecture about how it wasn't a valid form of ID. I ended up having to put down a deposit and them keeping my student card as colateral, which puts a dampener on a visit when that card saves you money on your trip around town. I can stay at 4 star hotels with just a bank card, however this lot want my blood type and genome sequence!!! Why????
The inns said the breakfast next door started at 7am. Then when I was there at 7am, it was not ready yet until half an hour later. Please be punctual. It ruin my whole plan. Half an hour is precious to me.
near rail station
small room, no wifi in room
Just because you have 24hr reception- put pub crawl people in the room after 11pm. At one point I was using room by myself, sleeping- suddenly at 12 pm 6 drunk people came in talking and dancing. I know I in hostel but it wasn't fair.
