On the rugged Northumberland coast, this former chapel has been converted into a charming 200-year-old B&B, offering award-winning 5-star accommodation. St Cuthbert's House keeps its own bees, so guests can enjoy delicious honey as well as jams and marmalade made in a local monastery kitchen. Alongside the buffet table's light breakfast options, free-range eggs and award-winning sausages and bacon from the local butcher are served each morning. Warm bread is freshly delivered from the nearby bakery, and oak-smoked fish is also available. St Cuthbert's House boasts traditionally furnished rooms with a flat-screen TV, DVD player, and tea and coffee making facilities. Free toiletries and a hairdryer are provided in each elegant en suite bathroom, and there is free Wi-Fi throughout. Bamburgh Castle is just a short stroll along the beach, and Alnwick Castle and Garden is only 15 miles away. The bustling Seahouses Harbour, where boats leave for the Farne Islands, is just a 15-minute walk from the building. Beautiful building, lovely people and amazing breakfast Double bed was 2 singles locked together and I kept getting the seam!

It would be easier to say what we didn't like. Superb. Friendly. Helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Nice fluffy towels. Great food... Nothing...!

We were very impressed with the owners and facilities of St. Cuthbert's House. The emphasis on good food on the web page gave the impression that an evening meal would be available - our mistake.

The friendly atmosphere, the comfortable, modern, and well equipped bedroom, the excellent freshly cooked breakfast, and the very reasonable cost. Nothing whatsoever: one of the nicest places we have ever stayed at.

Happy and well run BB, modern and clean rooms, 10 minute walk to Seahouse centre, best I have ever been too :)) I had to short of a stay, longer next time !!

Beautiful and sympathetic restoration of an old chapel on the beautiful Northumbrian coast. Fantastic room with great attention to detail - spare toothbrush, past, etc in desk drawer. Great hosts with good knowledge of local area, in particular, eateries - we had a great Indian meal at the Spice House. Have already recommended to friends.

Attention to detail throughout - beautiful rooms and facilities, extremely hospitable and helpful hosts - lovely breakfasts (didn't eat until tea-time!!) - nothing was too much bother. Lovely ambience - the perfect getaway. Will definitely be going back soon. Absolutely nothing to dislike!!!

Jeff and Jill were wonderful hosts, this was a homely and comfortable bed and breakfast (with plenty of hot water) in a very peaceful setting. A garden to rest in after a long day's sightseeing would have been very welcome.
