The hotel was very clean and maintained at an excellent standard. It is clear it has been refurblished recently. We booked a budget room at £60 which was non refundable. For this price the room was excellent and I would have been willing to pay a lot more, the room was big, spacious and very nicely decorated. Hotel staff where very friendly and helpful, quick and easy check in.

Location was good. Food was also o/K. I thought the bed was a bit hard, but that's a personal preference.

Super room, very clean and comfortable If you take a look at the glass shelving over the food counters they were extremely dusty, they could nnot have been cleaned for a number of days. Very noticeable and you would be surprised if you looked yourself!!! It did put me off the food I'm afriad. Shame. Attendion to detail is vitally important.

A good modern hotel about ten miles from Chester but 20 minutes in car so not an issue. Rooms modern and a little dark but good quailty overall. Not sure I would have paid full rate but good value at 80 night discount rate. Breakfast good. Reception wand bar service not the best but when we complained they did sort and gave us a free round of drinks so happy in the end.

It was my wife's 50th birthday. I booked the hotel as a surprise. My cousin recommended it and I booked it from her computer. The meal was lovely in the evening and we watched a video in our room later which was relaxing.

Friendly staff When I phoned to confirm my booking I specifically asked if all the spa facilities were available this weekend. To which the answer was yes. When I asked if I needed to book anything in advance, I was told to book the restaurant, which I did. When I arrived at the hotel, all spa facilities were fully booked up.

The location suited us and the place was clean and comfortable with good food and pleasant service We didn't like the way the hotel has been refurbished. It no longer appeared as a family friendly hotel and smacked more of a travel lodge than a four star hotel. Having enjoyed a number of breaks there in the past we were rather disappointed with the development and will not consider it for our short break in future.

Staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was very good Even though we booked through Booking .com when we arrived we were told our booking had not been made. The hotel reception was dirty, the carpets stained and this gave a very poor impression. The room was also very tired, scratched furniture, air con not working, buttoins missing etc. very dissapointing as I booked with Village hotels because their standards in both Bury and Hull were excellent.

From the moment we arrived the staff were very attentive & knowledgable of the surrounding area. The hotel was lovely, modern & clean. We had a room to the rear of hotel which seemed to be the quieter area. Room was spacious & very clean.Husband & I had a weekend away together but suitable for families too. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Location Lack of toiletries in bathroom. No tissues. Leaking soap dispensers ( some people prefer to use a bar of soap). Bar stocks inadequate:- No worcester sauce for Bloody Mary. No sherry, other than Bristol cream. Restaurant standards not good, limited menu, food preparation barely adequate. Restaurant not open for lunch. Unable to book in until 3.00 P.M., which is hard to understand given that most people book out before 10.00 A.M.

Good facilities, although our stay was for one night only to allow us to attend function at Connah's Quay. Consequently we didn't have much opportunity to sample your wares! Bathroom in room 316 needs attention to seals round bath and basin. Rather grubby with some black mould.

I thought that the gym was excellent, really well equipped and it had very helpful staff. The breakfast was very good indeed. I liked the fact that the wifi is free - it really annoys me when you have to pay for that these days. the place is like a rabbit warren and it is hard to find your way around as there are not really enough signs.

Room comfort & quiet. Both my wife & I were very disappointed with the evening meal. We paid top prices for fillet steaks. The steaks were only ok & the rest of the plate was not worth a penny & it very quickly went cold. We are accustomed to travel & we certainly know about good food, sadly DeVere ranks very low on our experience. In addition it cost us more than the room did, for that you really must hit the top every time.

The room was clean, tidy and a comfortable bed plus the breakfast was good if noisy and congested in the small serving area. There was no water in the room, no shampoo and soap dispensers plus a toast machine meant that one person getting toast for a family held the whole operation up. The checkout was slow due to lack of staff and whilst all these small points are not crucial the overall impression is that of a low budget hotel at a far from low budget price!!
