staff really helpful and kind. They were very attentive and met every request we had. Hotel really charming and clean.
Service in the bar a little slow and continental breakfast expensive especially when we went for breakfast room service the next day and narrowed the choice down to what we actually ate and made the bill more reasonable!
it was very good
The hotel alone is impressive enough.. They have paid attention to every little detail.. The inside of the hotel is beautiful.. We visted for our 1st year anniversary in October 2014.. I mentioned this on the comments after booking and we was upgraded to an executive room and greeted to champagne and chocolates on the desk when we walked into our room.. This wasn't asked for the hotel did this on their own accord, which was really really amazing and such a lovely welcome and surprise. The room was immaculate.. The maids turned down our duvet and left chocolates on our pillows in the evening. Our stay was truely perfect in everyway.. We will be booking with St Ermins again.. Thank you for making our anniversay so special & memorable..
Food in restaurant of hotel
Well positioned, stylishly decorated, good amenities (love having an iron and ironing board available!), great selection of teas and coffees and enough milk to go therewith.
The fact that the toiletries were fixed to the wall, not enough shelf space in the bathroom
Great location. Outstanding staff. Very comfortable rooms!
Not very much
Not efficient services. being seated for breakfast, a long drawn out unnecessary process, checking out process, tedious. It just seems that the intent is to appear snooty and haughty taughty, rather than being effective and efficient. Extremely over priced.
Everything was absolutely fabulous. Very elegant hotel, very friendly, personable and impeccable staff and the bed was a dream! Pricey but definitely worth it.
The entrance and foyer are most attractive, as are all the public areas. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Continual banging all night long. Under stuffed pillows didn't help.
The comfort, Quality of service
Only one restaurant though good, was always very busy
Location was perfect for showing my husband around London.
Bottles being thrown into the dumpsters below us late at night
We have stayed at the hotel before and thought it was excellent. On this occasion our room was nicer but everything else was not quite as good. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment - was v good the 1st time we stayed.
The front facing staff are not as friendly or polite as they were previously and this is something we definitely noticed.
Great location with many of London's best landmarks within walking distance. Colourful history and striking interior. Courteous staff. Good breakfasts.
Not very good for business travellers as the WiFi connection is terrible!
The hotel was classy, luxurious, teaming with staff who wanted to make my stay an experience to remember and they succeeded. Even my odd request for a plain, straight backed chair was met with a smile and "of course Madam".
Loved the room and the hotel's ambiance. The location is also amazing: close to the subway and to the Big Ben.
Excellent location, beautiful period hotel.
Cost of breakfast.
Good Location, loved the entrance to the hotel and the attractive lobby. Staff were helpful. The bed was amazingly comfy. Interesting to see the bee hotel on the third floor, unfortunately didn't get to try their honey!
There was very little to dislike but if I had to be picky..the view from the room looked directly into an office so I couldn't open the blind. The cocktail menu was a bit limited though the bar staff did attempt to make one suggested to them and offered an alternative to one they couldn't.
The concierge staff was very helpful. They gave us good advice about restaurants and made made reservations for us at several places. We were unfamiliar with the area and had a party of fourteen, so this would have been difficult otherwise. The entrance and lobby are beautiful; all our family members were pleased. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abby, St. James Park, and the houses of Parliament. There was lots to see close by.
A lovely approach, a stunning foyer, beautiful décor, great staff, very well equipped and comfy rooms. The terrace bar is a lovely setting and the main bar has a good choice of areas and seating. For Westminster and Buckingham Palace it is an ideal location.
The Caxton Grill was very disappointing. We had eaten there before and enjoyed it very much but on this occasion I was served raw fish and had to wait for a replacement meal so my husband had nearly finished by the time I was served. The flavours were also quite overpowering.

Hotel décor, friendly staff. Quiet rooms. Helpful staff with booking plays. Buffett breakfast was fantastic with lots of variety, but a bit expensive.
Nothing not to like.
Close to main attractions. Great staff. Close to tube station. Close to theaters. Starbucks close by.
Location was excellent; walking distance to Big Ben and Westminster Abbey; very centrally located Hotel had London charm but was recently updated and in a modern English style with no outward connection to Marriott hotels which is the current owner. Luxurious feeling with bathrobes and slippers and turndown service Free internet access Staff very knowledgeable and helpful Lovely breakfast Nice terrace and porch and sitting areas Quiet location but in hub of city Near St. James's' Tube stop Beds were very comfortrable and felt very clean and crisp The family room was a excellent option for three older kids boy (18) girl (15) and boy (11). My daughter had her own bathroom and side of the room which gave her privacy. Very unusual to find in a London Hotel. We liked that the hotel had the old world London charm that we were looking for but was also modern in terms of amenities and didn't have the homogenized Marriott chain hotel feeling. This is part of the autograph series and it appears that with this group of hotels Marriott leaves its name out. We would stay here again in a hearbeat. We loved the St. Ermin's and it will be our "go to" hotel in London.
The Deluxe room was a tight but yet well layed out but to be expected in a London hotel Not a lot of shelf space in bathroom but right outside bathroom was armoir unit/coffee area that I used to dry my hair and store some toiletries However, the hotel felt ver luxurious and these were minor issues. The gym is very small but tastefully done and had quality machines. Could use medicine balls and a bosu.
The room and bed, the breakfast
The shower regulator ( heat and pump) on 6th floor was not up to hotel standards. Caxton restaurant food was on heavy side, a bit too complicated as well, wagyu burger was tasteless and cooked from frozen not on for £25
