A lovely approach, a stunning foyer, beautiful décor, great staff, very well equipped and comfy rooms. The terrace bar is a lovely setting and the main bar has a good choice of areas and seating. For Westminster and Buckingham Palace it is an ideal location.
The Caxton Grill was very disappointing. We had eaten there before and enjoyed it very much but on this occasion I was served raw fish and had to wait for a replacement meal so my husband had nearly finished by the time I was served. The flavours were also quite overpowering.
Welcome Room service Concierge
Hotel décor, friendly staff. Quiet rooms. Helpful staff with booking plays. Buffett breakfast was fantastic with lots of variety, but a bit expensive.
Nothing not to like.
Close to main attractions. Great staff. Close to tube station. Close to theaters. Starbucks close by.
Location, ambience of the hotel, great food at the restaurant, croissants were unbelievable, taxis always available, concierge very helpful, room crevice was great.
A lot of noise from adjoining rooms and hallway. Better sound insulation is needed.
The hotel is beautiful; the service is excellent. Had a nice work out facility. Very convenient location.
The Wi-Fi was a bit inconsistent. You had to constantly log in as you were dropped often.
liked that we could all stay in the same room and that there were 2 small bathrooms
Check-in took a long time, as our room was't ready until around 4pm
Lovely atmosphere, staff all very nice, not too big.
The bed, not their fault though, I'm used to a very soft bed and this one was quite hard.
Perfect location Stylish hotel, beautiful surroundings Polite and friendly staff
Concierge was really helpful, greeted by door staff with umbrella due to rain which the 10 yr old really enjoyed. Close to Victoria Theatres and Buckingham Palace, generally an ideal location for anyone wishing to take in the sites of London. Couple of tube stops from Harrods.
Although I travelled for business, it is worth mentioning that this hotel is in a fantastic location close to a lot of London's top 'attractions'. It was an easy walk to Buckingham Palace, Knightsbridge and Big Ben. The hotel was also very clean and comfortable and the restaurant was superb.
Not a great deal to dislike. It was quite expensive but given the location and standard I think the cost was appropriate.
Location of this hotel is perfect for seeing all the sites, it is right around the corner from st James' tube station. Good sized room and bathroom. Beautiful looking hotel.
Check in time was a little hectic, crowded and staff all spoke English as a second language and were a little hard to understand, didn't do a great job of welcoming.
It was a lovely hotel with great atmosphere and staff. Walking distance from Buckingham Palace and the sights of Westminster. Fantastic rooms with lovely decor. Spotless.
Location and restaurant was good
I paid for a Junior suite which I expected to be quite a lot larger than a standard room, but it was very small for the extra money paid.
Service was excellent. Room was comfortable. Building is beautiful as are gardens.
Restaurant was expensive. View into the property is lovely with the gardens. View from the property looking out is dreadful. Our room was above the front door and looked out onto the gardens but beyond was a very ugly modern building. Unfortunate.
Quality, helpful staff. Clean, comfortable, classy rooms and common areas. Will definitely go back for longer.
Location was perfect for me as I was traving weekdays from Victoria Station via St James underground. Close to both Westminster and Buckingham Palace. My parents came along for holiday and took advantage of the concierge service. They were also very pleased. Beautiful hotel, gardens, rooms, tea area and the breakfast included in price was great! I will most definitely stay here again.
Price- but I understood. That's life :)
Very nice hotel in a convenient location. Great place to enjoy afternoon tea!!
Overall the hotel is very confortable.
The Window shades allow a lot of light to enter into the room. If you have problems sleeping with light, forget, you will not sleep.
Our room was 449 and it was facing the new Scotland yard. We had a king size bed and was very comfortable. The room was very quiet. Excellent location to visit London. The St-James tube was 2 minutes away. It was easy to access from the airport for $1.50 each.
The only thing was the Wi-Fi. They didn't reception in my room. I would have to pay extra to get better reception.
History of hotel
Poor quality and over priced food. Service no better than regular budget hotels.
Poor lighting in bedroom and bathroom. Only an overhead shower and had to reach through shower to get to the controls. I felt that the design of the lighting and bathroom had been done by someone who had not actually lived in the space.
Excellent stay - made very welcome from arrival to departure.
Great location and experience .
Location close to Westminster, St James Park, Buckingham Palace, the river and the Underground. The garden either side of the entrance drive.
Décor in rooms.
