Superior room was bright and clean and a good size, location - depends on where you want to be in London but walking distance to tube and Oxford Street.
Our room was next to reception and could hear everything being said.
Great location at a reasonable price. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
Quite noisy due to the traffic and the sink & shower only produced a trickle of hot water on the top floor :(
Fine for a one or two day stay
Small for five or six day stat. With not enough draw space . Having to live out do your luggage. To obtain fresh air or movement of air one needed to open the window and the street noise of traffic seemed never ending. Too may stairs were a Surprize. If this was a first trip to London, your info should be user friendly to all . I didn't know your terminology for the type of accommodation. Thank you
Not very much
The only plus is the location but this sole feature is not worthy the price.
I don't remember the last time I was so disappointed from a room. The window frames need desparate change, the toilet was not flushing properly. By far not a 4-star experience. The price range is close to the Radisson's down the street and oh my, how I wish I'd gone for it. Instead I decided to experience the traditional UK way. Next time I know, go for the large, faceless, gigantic hotel chains but also without problems. Also, there was no bathtub and wifi was on only on a tiny spot in the room.
location price baggage support to room
room was four flights up (but receptionist gave me a hand with my luggage) my bed was very poor quality - very old and spring had totally gone
Central location of the hotel.
I am lucky enough to travel to different countries on business and I can safely say that this was one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. We were placed in room number 1, reasonably nice and comfortable we thought when we arrived. The room is next to reception at the front of the building and we were assured that the traffic noise would not be an issue because the room was fully double glazed, total rubbish. My partner and I were kept awake for nearly the entire night by buses, heavy vehicles and high performance cars being thrashed down the road outside. To make matters worse we were subjected to extremely loud guests coming and going throughout the early hours and engaging in very loud and totally inconsiderate conversations with the female staff on reception, who, quite frankly made no effort whatsoever to keep the noise to a minimum so the levels of professionalism were non-existent. All and all we were totally disgusted with the way we were treated and had to drive home early Sunday morning and go straight to bed for most of the day, which wasn't hangover related as we weren't drunk the previous evening but because we'd had almost no sleep and were unable to visit a number of Galleries that we had planned to attend during Sunday. I would rather sleep rough then spend our hard earned money in your establishment again so NO!! I would never consider staying at the hotel again, not in a million years and will be sharing my experience on Trip Advisor so that others don't fall foul of Room 1. I hope this was helpful
