We had previously stayed at St Georges 29 years ago so it was a very pleasant experience the second time around as was the first. Comfortable beds and well appointed room with a large screen TV. Very clean and the breakfasts were very good indeed...in fact we were in the same room as previous only now there is an on suite.Location is great with only a short walk to the city gate.
Cleanliness and comfort. The standard of decoration was first class. As was the breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and plentiful. Frequent bus service into York.
Location set on a quiet road, bus to York 2 minutes away. B&b clean, off road parking to the rear friendly staff, dog friendly.
Friendly staff,good food
Nice helpful staff - dog friendly which was the main reason for our booking - lovely breakfast - would recommend and stay again
Brilliant family run bed and breakfast nice and clean can't do enough for u
Excellent location, superbly run. It was so thoughtful of them to leave a card, balloons and a scatter of tiny hearts in our room for our wedding anniversary. We enjoyed everything about our stay at St George's and look forward to another visit. Really enjoyed the breakfast too:-)
Far away from town shopping centre
I really enjoyed my stay, the room was very comfortable and the staff friendly. I will definitely be back.
Friendly staff, great breakfast, good room and facilities
Super clean rooms with friendly and witty staff. Very good position relatively close to the centre with enough space for parking. Freshly cooked breakfast made to order from a lot of choice to choose from.
Loved free breakfast in bed every morning and my girlfriend loved the cats that frequented the hotel
carpets were a bit drab, could do with renovation
We were upgraded to a large room - great wifi reception and tea-making facilities with real milk (a treat for Canadians). Excellent English breakfast and very friendly staff. A short walk to old town, the wall, restaurants and shops.
Everything exceeded expectations.
The location was great - a short walk into the town centre. Breakfast was very good and the room was comfortable and quiet.
breakfast and staff, Kittson the top cat
Comfortable room. Staff were very accommodating. We had an early train to catch before breakfast hours. They made us an early breakfast. Room was lovely.
It was a bit of a walk from the city centre but certainly within an easy walk or short bus ride.
>Kitson's beaviour, managing this guest house. >Joanne&Andrew's kindness. >Sausages in breakfast. >Well linked with the city centre by bus. It takes only 2 min walking to get the bus stop. > Perfectly detailed explanations in a written dossier in your room. It takes only 5 min to have an overall idea of what to do in York, how and when. Venues, attractions, bus lines, a city map... >If you're a smoker, they provide gently an umbrela to smoke outside. >The overall cozy atmosphere. >The parking inside the Guest House and the possibilities of parking for free in the neighbourhood. >The neighbour's multicoloured cat. >The matrisses and pillows make you have a good rest after wondering round the downtown and city museums. >Spatious bathroom.
>Kitson deserves a girlfriend and contequently a heir!
Friendly staff, quick walk into town, spacious & comfortable room.
Very clean and comfortable lovely breakfast, everything we needed.
Our room was lovely, very clean and spacious. The staff we're very helpful and breakfast very good, would stay again.
We are couples from Thailand. We had a great time staying here. It's not far from the city. If you don't like walking, just take Number 4, 12, 13 bus at the bus stop near the hotel. It will take only 3-5 min to the city.
St. George's is an older building kept nicely and updated well. Staff very accommodating and eager to please. Good breakfast served in very nice surroundings. Location is very convenient - a short drive into York and an equally short bus ride to city center.
The car park was off-limits when the dogs were out.
Right by the racecourse. Not too far to walk to the centre of York. Safe secure parking onsite or in the street outside the B&B. Lovely breakfast with a good choice of options. Would definitely return and recommend to others.
Staff really friendly - room fantastic. Staff go out of their way to help.
Parking will be poor on racedays. Car park locked and only room for few cars in B & B
Friendly and helpful staff Good value Nice cooked breakfast served in bed
