All was good
Nothing we were very happy
Located 20 minutes walk away from the centre of York ;the hotel is excellent value for money. Staff are all very friendly and courteous. Breakfast is very filling but don't expect a full slice of fried bread (we got a quarter of a slice). Not a big thing just being picky. We would definitely go back again in the future as we believe EVERY hotel has "niggles". On a whole BRILLIANT stay...........Thanks
Room 5 has a very large ominous fire bell in it due to the fact that it is the main thoroughfare for the fire escape. We dreaded the alarm going off in the middle of the night because of the noise it would obviously cause. Worth asking for a change of room if you are allocated this room for that reason only.
MY WIFE AND I( PATRICIA AND ALAN WILSON) STAYED AT THE ST GEORGE'S HOTEL FROM FRIDAY THE 17TH OF OCTOBER TO MONDAY THE 20TH OF OCTOBER. WE FOUND IT A VERY NICE HOTEL A VERY NICE ROOM, AND A COMFORTABLE BED, WITH FRIENDLY STAFF AND A VERY NICE BREAKFAST EVERY MORNING. WE SHALL CERTAINLY BE BACK AND WE WILL RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO OUR FRIENDS AND RELATIONS, SHOULD THEY PLAN TO GO TO YORK. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FROM ALAN AND PATRICIA.
THERE WAS NOTHING THAT WE DIDN'T LIKE.
The staff at st georges guest house were most helpful in my hour of need, would recommend to my friends and anyone else who is looking for a 1st class welcome stay.
Friendly welcome, large room with sofa which was an added bonus, extra large TV! Bed was comfortable, shower was quite small for size of the bath room but not really an issue, tea coffee etc replenished every day, good breakfast choices, excellent cooked breakfast, 10 minute walk from the race course (one of reasons for visit) good 20 min walk into city centre, we found it quicker if you walked along the city walls (left side walking into centre) Parking at the back, enjoyed our stay, thank you.
Never had much luck at the races Ha Ha!! no faults or complaints!
closeness to York racecourse. Good sized room. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Breakfast times. Cooked breakfast only served between 8.30 to 9.15. A twenty minute walk into the city centre but bus stops near.
It was handily placed to walk into the City centre. Also, because my wife feels the cold the owners very kindly gave her a portable heater for the room to make it even warmer for her. Nice secure parking. All in all a very nice place to stay.
Clean rooms, decorated with style. Excellent service. In walking distance from the rail station, it has also good connection with the bus. Breakfast with imagination, very well served.
We loved kitson. He was beautiful
Location Breakfast perfect Room spacious
Very cosy hotel. Great breakfast. Lovely cat. good location. Perfect place for anyone.
Nothing bad to say.
Room was very tidy, breakfast excellent, staff amicable.
Very accommodating of me being a coeliac and was even given gf sausages especially :)
Character of the the house, cleanliness and good breakfasts.
There was nothing to dislike.
The st George's guest house was one of the most comfortable and friendly places we have stayed in for a long time so much we had breakfast in bed for two days. Our room was really big with a 42" TV. The only down fall was the fact it was a 15 minute walk to York city centre but plenty buses go by but the friendly welcome outweighed that and not to mention the breakfast it was gorgeous so well done all the staff
We liked the location, the friendly staff and homely feel, and the ginger cat lovely
It felt like i was staying in a family place, with everything provided. I loved it.
Excellent location easy parking clean and friendly great breakfast not to far from city centre will certainly go back was made very welcome
Helpfull in locating specific needs.....great breakfasts.... great English setting.
Comfortable, very hospitable and welcoming. Superb location in very quiet cul-de-sac, yet only 20 minutes walk from the centre of York and two minutes walk from a bus stop. Extremely quiet nights, so great sleeping! Good breakfasts.
Nothing, though a lounge would have been nice.
Situation, very handy for a walk or bus into town Useful to stay with a dog, good walking areas nearby Nice friendly place to stay, Adam was most helpful and friendly Service was excellent, no complaints Food was very good Room was comfortable and fairly quiet, even being at the front
The staff were very good, the breakfast was excellent with a good choice, it is about 20 to 30 min walk to the town centre (very slow 69 year olds) buses just around the corner, room 6 & 8 very nice but a lot of stairs to the top floor. Would defiantly recomend
nothing to dislike
Breakfast second to none whatever your taste Very friendly staff/owners nothing to much trouble Parking on site. Beds very comfortable nice relaxing rooms. Very large TV. Gentle stroll into York Centre Will definately be returning.
Easy to get to and very obliging staff especially Andrew. Excellent breakfast nice and quiet location but easy access to the City, just round the corner (if you require) from regular buss route.
Nothing except Guest House bedroom were a little tired
