Cheap, Basic, 25min walk from the centre (£5.00 taxi ride). Includes cooked breakfast.
Bed/sink/toilet/shower were clean, side board, cupboards etc very dusty. Fixtures and fittings worn and a bit dated but perfectly adequate for the price charged.
Cheap price. Has everything you need if you are off for a night out in cardiff and need somewhere to crash.
Place is dated, nothing wrong with it though. perfect place to crash after a night out.
hotel good value for money in very good location, friendly staff , good breakfast
Very friendly, great breakfast, close to the city centre
A nice simple place to stay within easy reach of town.
No mattress protector, mattress was creaky and soft, base of divan bed was ripped. The room was probably the worst ever visited, not at all pleasing to the eye, mirrored chest of drawers, dali prints, polyester bedding, dark wood frieze ... dreadful. No lock on the bathroom door, not able to lock bedroom door from inside the room.
Ok breakfast, £5 taxi ride from Central Cardiff
Very very old fashioned b&b type property. Never been anywhere and had a 4 poster bed with a single alongside! Dark decor, quite claustrophobic room, however, was comfortable and very clean
The location was good and the staff was friendly.
The room had not been hoovered or dusted properly, there were no extras such as shampoo, soap or hairdryer, and the cost was high. The biggest negative was having an interrupted sleep because of the front door bell being rung during the night 3 or 4 times, with the bell being rung for 10 minutes at a time before it was answered. They need a better system!!
The woman running the hotel was very attentive and helpful.
The room was very cramped and the wifi very weak. There were a lot of young rugby fans and at breakfast we listened to another couple complaining about doors being banged on through-out the night.
The place has a lot of character - it reminded me of the old traditional Guest Houses and I liked that. I would definitely stay there again.
Some of the other guests were talking loudly and making a noise until the early hours- This was no fault of the Hotel Staff.
Location, comfort & cleanliness of room, good breakfast
Wi-fi was poor from the top floor room I was in (reception only possible by lying on the floor!)
Everything, so much we stayed an extra night!
wifi isn't available on the top floor, but we didn't need it anyway
Exceptional price for a Saturday night in Cardiff, lovely welcoming owner, location is reasonable for the City Centre.
Shared bathroom, noisy guests, creaking floorboards in the room above at 2am in the morning waking me up.
Staff very friendly.
Tv had no sound. Shower room way to small had to dress on the shower tray.
The lady who ran the hotel was excellent, very friendly and hospitable.
The tea making facilities could of been better. Kettle looked old.
-Easy location to find and close to a few food places.
-A leak in my bathroom meant the floor was soaked my entire stay. When I arrived there was still a note in my room about this leak, when I mentioned it to the owner he put some bath mats down and said it shouldn't be a problem, it was. -After asking for the wifi password the owner said he would come and tell me when he found it, after 30mins I went back to ask again, he said sorry but he couldn't find the piece of paper with the password.
Reason price for a budjet B&B
Confusing where to go as there is a lodge and a hotel I had exams at the university so needed to leave early and missed b'fast as this began at 0800. Shower by rooms 1,2 and 3 was either scolding hot or freezing cold. It suited my needs but I wouldn't stay there again
20 minutes walk from City Centre Reasonable rates for single room
Wi-fi did not work in the room only near the dining area
It was a good value budget b and b. Landlady was extremely friendly and happy to help at all times. Lovely breakfast. We wanted a b and b for one night at a very reasonable rate and that is what we got. It was clean.
Decor a little tired. Could do with updating.
Homeliness and friendliness of the proprietor. Nothing was too much trouble.
The time to walk to city highlights was a little exaggerated - the ten minutes quoted was more like twenty minutes.
The breakfast The hospitality.
Warm friendly greeting on arrival, room clean, bed comfortable. Good breakfast, lady running hotel was extremely helpful and made you feel welcome
Decor was a bit outdated although bathroom was lovely and modern but nothing to complain about or put me off returning
It was cheap and reasonably close to the centre.
Staff weren't terribly sympathetic or responsive to complaints about the heating not being switched on. The wifi was also out for a week according to one employee.
Hotel was superb, staff friendly and marvellous, couldn't do enough to make your stay wonderful
