Sofitel London St James  

The location for London's famous iconic venues in the West End, parliament, Buckingham Palace, Museums and galleries was perfect for us. As well as this we could walk easily to bars & restaurants. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and dealt with all our queries efficiently and effectively, however at £285 for one night without breakfast, I would expect them to!

We ate in the Hotel restaurant, which was nicely presented although not the most flavoursome I have had, but then having a son who is a chef, I may be biased! Also the food could have been hotter; despite being on warmed plates, it was lukewarm - this needs to be addressed. I have only stated that the hotel was 'fair' as far as value for money goes; this is a general statement and not specifically targetted at the Sofitel in London St james'. I have been a guest in your hotels in many parts of the world including as far away as Melbourne, where the room rates were about 50% of this booking but with a much larger room and included breakfast. I therefore would question any such venue to truly justify such pricing, but this a personal choice and I understand that the location, facilities etc in central London do attract a premium rate.

breakfast ridiculously expensive

We ordered full english breakfasts and waited half an hour for these to arrive, but unfornately they brought waffles for one of the breakfasts sent them back and waited a further 10 mins, still no breakfasts. In the hotels defence they did offer complimentary glasses of champagne, but the damage had already been done!! The shower over the bath is quite technical, 4 levers to activate the shower!!!!!

Location is excellent and hotel room was beautiful with luxurious Hermes toiletries. Staff were excellent and very accommodating.

Hotel room was a bit small, none or limited phone reception in the room we were put into and internet was a bit slow.

The location of the hotel is excellent. You can get easily to several attractions by foot. The staff is highly motivated and eager to give you a fabulous holiday. Especially the staff in the restaurant and the concierge meet every expectation of yours and even more. The room service does a great job and the beds are extremely comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to everybody with high expectations in a hotel.

We have asked for a city view while making our reservation on booking.com and were lucky to get a superior queen room on the fifth floor with a city view. Complementary mineral water and cakes/fruits every evening were also very much appreciated. The recently opened renowated bar is gorgeous. Breakfast at the Balcon restaurant is a nice experience although we recommend the a la carte selection as buffet breakfast is not worth the money spent.

Delightful staff. Chic atmosphere.

This was my second time at Sofitel St James,I was still surprised by the amazing treatment as the kindness they treat their guests.I had been to some other Sofitel Hotels in Europe,I do find this one from far the best one of any other I had been before.Regarding the team attention to any guest's needs,trying to give us the best confort we could dream.Every single evening a musician plays beautifully bringing the most romantic atmosphere..As a frequent traveller,I do recommend it for an unforgetable scape in London.

The staff were excellent - very personable, friendly, and looking for ways to enhance your visit. The location was superb. The room was fabulous. Beautiful and luxurious fittings. Wonderful shower! The reason I chose Sofitel was because my Mum, sister and I all wanted to share a room and there were few hotels that could accommodate us - we had a junior suite at Sofitel and it was very comfortable for the three of us. I would definitely recommend Sofitel to friends. It was pricey but the service and overall experience was second to none.

We were disappointed to find the restaurant was closed for refurbishment when we got there. If I had realized that when booking, I possibly wouldn't have booked this hotel, but in fact they did a reasonable job of coping without it.

Friendly and Warm service

Well appointed hotel and great location for theatre and shopping , we went to the o2 and the hotel was easy foe that venue also , 5 minute walk to the tube and 6 stops without changing . The hotel was having minor refurbishments , which we were aware of , and the bar was temporary and disappointing , very good Gym , and as my wife doesn't usually eat breakfast , I can't comment on the food as we didn't use the restaurant . Unusually for a 5 star hotel it had tea and coffee making facilities in the room

Due to it being part of the Accor group , there is a heavy French influence , eg the hotel information book in our room , didn't have an English or other language section , luckily I can read enough French to get the basic information , I did inform reception , but it was no corrected by the time we left

Pleasant staff. Extremely comfortable bed. Proximity to London sights... Buckingham Palace, St. James' Park, National Gallery as well as shopping in Regent Street, Oxford Street and Bond Street.

オペラ座の怪人を観るために、一番近くて便利なホテルで利用しました。 パリで４泊した後、ユーロスターに乗り、できるだけ荷物を少なくして、案内された部屋は４階の一番端で狭い- 部屋でした。身なりで判断されたのか… 残念です。ホテルの場所は三越のある通りに面しています。 次の日、観光するために荷物を預かってもらいました。
