top hotel, good area, friendly crew,

that was a small negative point, the vergot to clean up the room, in the evening the lady of the house-keep offered me to do it as well, but i was in the room and want to stat there to work. a pitty

The Location was ideal and the room size was important to us, they are quite generous compared to others. But the best thing of all was the double glazing of the windows - no noise at all - superb! - and they opened up to let in fresh air when we needed it, perfect!.

The room we stayed in was so stuffy from the air-conditioning. Even though we turned ours off, we would get overheated during the night. The duvet was way too hot and the blanket provided was also too warm. I ended up requesting two top sheets because one was not enough - a lightweight summer blanket would be ideal.

Sliding door of bathroom did not provide sufficient insulation.

The location was perfect!

Location : 5 minutes walk to china town, Piccadilly tube, regent street... Safe to walk at night after theatre.

The room a bit small. No view even for high room rate .

The new decor to the restaurant is disappointing and does not seem quite in keeping with the rest of the hotel

Room was not cleaned when we got back at 5.30 but they cleaned it at once also gave us a free drink while we waited sorted thanks.

Everything was perfect.

Stayed for six nights over Christmas at the Sofitel St James. Effortless check-in after which the receptionist gave us a personal tour of the hotel and showed us to our room. The room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable - tea and coffee making facilities, iron and board, safe, Hermes products, slippers, robes, sensational shower pressure! Location is fabulous, within walking distance to many attractions and a short cab ride if wanting to shop Harrods. The tube is just a five minute walk and GBP7 buys you a daily commuter ticket. The staff have been exceptional - friendly, efficient, helpful. (I dropped my serviette onto the floor and the waiter swept in with a clean one to replace it in a flash!) There have also been added touches......the beautiful chocolate bauble left in our room, the extra attention from housekeeping. The Balcon provides sublime surroundings for breakfast to start your day and the bar is a welcome reprieve at the end of a busy day. Although we didn't use them, there is also a tea room, where a harpist entertains in the afternoon, and a day spa. Overall, a wonderful experience as the first part of our holiday and I would definitely recommend.

The hotel is beautifully decorated. I liked the display of sculptures in the foyer. I'l allergic to feathers and asked that all my bedding be changed. It was impreccably done.

The movie selection could have been a little richer, more interesting, with a wider variety. Moreover, the movies we watched bugged.

I was so impressed by the hotel, the visit was perfect and it was all down to the staff. From reception on arrival, room service, bar and restaurant excellent service throughout. Loved our visit and look forward to returning.

1. friendliness of the staff, specially Juliette who checked us in, showed us around and help us reserve a table at The Rose Lounge for the most wonderful afternoon tea. and she sent up my very own espresso machine which made mornings a delight. 2. the helpfulness and courtesy extended to us by concierge staff. they made going around london a fun experience. 3. the room is comfortably spacious, the bed and linens perfect for a good night sleep and the the toilet is beautiful. not to mention the ammenities, which were very very good.
