Fantastic breakfast with a huge choice of options (including vegetarian and gluten free). Very clean, well run b&b with the friendliest owners you could hope to meet. The location is great for touring the lake district and loads of great restaurants are within 5/10 minutes walk.

Would love to stay at this b&b again if in the lake district.The room was beautiful and very clean with all mod cons.it was warm and comfortable and the owners were so friendly and helpful.The position of this b&b could not have been better as it was within easy walking distance of lovely Winermere and Bowness, and the breakfast!!!! Every taste catered for, couldnt have been better. Thank you so much.x

First time we have stayed at St Johns Lodge and without doubt we will be returning - everything we had expected and more - the hosts made us feel immediaitely welcome the minute the door opened.The room was spotlessley clean.I Can only describe the breakfast menu as astounding ! - what a choice !..My partner and I styaed for 3 nights and were there New Years Eve - we returned to our room on nye to find a small bottle of bubbly waiting for us - really nice touch ! Thanks Barry Sue and the team - you made our stay the perfect start to 2012 !!

This was our third visit to St John's. Outstandng as alway's. Beautifully refurbished. Excellant Cumbrian breakfast. Hospitality second to none. We shall definately return.

Very friendly atmosphere, rooms and public areas very nice, lots and lots of choice for breakfast, just need hot chocolate (light) at bed time to make perfect!! Just a little short on parking places but no complaints.

The hos[itality and the choices available for breakfast is excellent. The owners are lovely and have a great sense of humour. The atmosphere was quite peaceful and we able to rest and recharge. Just the lack of lifts, anf car parking

The management and staff were friendly.The room was spotlessly clean,spacious.Having never been to Windermere before,the manager gave good places to eat,see,shop,taxis etc.What was the icing on the cake so to speak,was the little extra touches that the management gave to our stay.The prices are not over budget.We recommend this place to stay,and are definetly going to return there again.There's a great choice of breakfasts to suit most pallets.Well done Barry and Sue for making our stay enjoyable.This was a special birthday treat for my husband,and you both made it even better.Thankyou from v and J.c

The Owners of St Johns were exceptional, very friendly and keen to assist. The breakfast was excellent with many home mode products which added a very personal touch. Room was very clean and comfortable. The location was within easy walking distance to both Windermere and Bowness with many great walks on your doorstep. The ferry service at Bowness also gives a quick connection to the other side of the lake which had very beautiful walks including the ability to walk to Beatrix Potter's Hill top residence.

A lovely guest house, very clean, really friendly helpful staff, We had a lovely relaxing break, a good location between Bowness & Windermere shops, close to the short ferry crossing towards hill top, somewhere safe for our cycles to be kept, lovely kingsize room and bathroom, delicious breakfast.

The lady who greeted us was lovely, very friendly. The hotel was emaculate and very very nice bedroom. Cannnot comment on the breakfast because we didnt make it due to lyin in bed. Would defintely stay again.
