Fantastic breakfast with a huge choice of options (including vegetarian and gluten free). Very clean, well run b&b with the friendliest owners you could hope to meet. The location is great for touring the lake district and loads of great restaurants are within 5/10 minutes walk.

The guest house was welcoming, warm, clean, modern, have off road parking for three cars based in a lovely location and a stones through away from the shops, bars and restaurants. The owners were very hospitable and informative. The breakfasts were to die for. They had many, many choices of hot and fresh produce.

Sue and her team were amazing. Sue spent lots of time helping my partner and I decide where to visit in the local area and she lent us maps and walking guides which were so helpful. All of the staff were extremely welcoming and the location was ideal - close to shops, restaurants and accessible to Windermere and surrounding area. Furthermore the breakfasts were to die for!

The bedroom was very comfortable and clean and the food was of excellent standard and the choice was amazing. The shower/bathroom was very clean and soft clean towels daily.. Top of the list - subtitles on television which is rarely available in hotels. The bathroom was small but okay for us as we were out and about all day.

First time we have stayed at St Johns Lodge and without doubt we will be returning - everything we had expected and more - the hosts made us feel immediaitely welcome the minute the door opened.The room was spotlessley clean.I Can only describe the breakfast menu as astounding ! - what a choice !..My partner and I styaed for 3 nights and were there New Years Eve - we returned to our room on nye to find a small bottle of bubbly waiting for us - really nice touch ! Thanks Barry Sue and the team - you made our stay the perfect start to 2012 !!

“The guest house was nicely situated to the local town and Lake Windermere. Our room was spacious, clean and tidy. The ensuite shower facility was second to none along with the King size bed which was very comfortable. The English breakfasts in the mornings were very generous and set us up for the day nicely.
