Good value Central location Friendly staff
Decoration a bit tired Good cooked breakfast but was given no options Had to put kettle on the floor - no socket ?
Convenient for the city centre, this was a relatively cheap hotel to stay in - half the price of a Premier Inn. It was useful to have free parking.
The decor is from the 1980s, with tired and peeling paint/plasterwork in my room. No bedside light. Cobwebs on the bathroom walls. Uninspired breakfast.
location is near where I gonna do my servicing work.
wifi service was poor and reception is not 24/7..
The central heating
Awful place, torn curtains, no bedside table or lamp, shower very very small.paper damp patches. Dismal decor, most unwelcoming. A run down guest house pretending to be a hotel. Awful.
Warm ground floor room. Above average size en suite. Comfortable lounge area. Easy walk to city centre.
Small car park, but parking available on street. Could do with bedside lights and glasses in room.
Bedding was stained rotton windows
Staff welcoming and friendly. Room clean and airy. Lovely hot shower, crisp clean sheets and towels. A great place to stay on a budget.
Bed was a bit lumpy
the room was warm, the breakfast was nice, and i liked checking out
the hotel is tired and in dire need of redecoration. The wall paper in my room was peeling from the walls, the window frames were rotten, the carpets were threadbare, the duvet was dirty and stained, I have also never showered in such a small shower before.
everything was ok on my stay there.
Accommodation needs a facelift
no manned reception, rooms were freezing, lumpy mattress also bed sheets were urine stained would never stay here again
Needs updating a bit rough around the edges
Good breakfast. On site parking. Warm welcoming.
Decor in need of updating. Bathroom window in need of blinds.
but I'm easy to please! Location was good. English breakfast was excellent. Pleasant receptionist allowed us to check in early which was convenient for us. Tea / Coffee making facility in the room and a good TV.
Tired decor but it probably requires a lottery win to refurb a guest house this size!
Large room and first impression. Nice to have a water cooker in the room. Nice breakfast. It served its purpose, crashing after a wedding reception. Would not stay here more than one night.
Everything has started to fall apart quite some time ago. Wallpaper pealing, bed cannot sag any further, hanging shower head, paint chipping, tv (remote?) not working, bin broken, etc.
freedom to come and go and excellent breakfast
The welcome was excellent. Breakfast very good. Staff very pleasant. Off road parking.
Flat, hard pillow and only one. First night cold as radiator turned off, no extra blankets.Toilet door hard to close due to carpet. Bed heads not fastened. Kettle hard to plug in behind unit, and had to use cup to fill it. Taps over wash basin very stiff. Shower very small. Rubbish outside windows. 2nd night kept awake due to rain falling hard from broken guttering.
reasonable for price paid - shame about decoration in our room. breakfast good.
although general decor of hotel was reasonable, our room had peeling wallpaper and curtains hanging off rail. Could also feel springs through mattress. Pity - for very little money could redecorate room and update mattress.
Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Good TV. Parking OK
My bedroom was a bit shabby and could have been a bit cleaner. Curtain had come off rail.
Welcoming pleasant staff. Reasonable choice of breakfast food. Good coffee!
Very poor mattresses on beds, curtains hanging off the track & dirty. Very small room for 2 beds difficult to pass the end of bed knobs. Carpet not clean. Nowhere to put things in en-suite ( no chair or surface or hooks on door).
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking was great and the room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely return.
Very friendly and responsive staff. Quiet location, a little walk from town centre well within the capabilities of 70 and 80 year olds! Good breakfasts. Good Parking Sitting lounge as well as dining room. Really enjoyed meeting the owners- interesting, charming and helpful
Little things like need for tooth mug and waste paper basket, but willingly rectified. Beds ok, but probably need to be replaced soon.
Everything about it was great, especially the kindness of the owner. I enjoyed a large double, quiet room with 24ins T.V. a good bed and fresh sheets; a shower room, fluffy towels and toiletries. Breakfast offered many choices and was well cooked - the scrambled eggs came up to my own standard. Dining room and lounge well furnished, I liked the 4ft. Chinese vases. Garden and lounging chairs available with views over the city, 15 mins walk away. Car park. What more could you for, at the price.
Lack of sufficient opening windows, but as it was ground floor room security was paramount. Surroundings could be tided up, garden improved, general maintenance, but I am sure these are all on the owners' list of "things to do".
the location, the room
the young man who was at reception was busy telephoning, he should have shown us to our room and should have helped with the luggage.
Lovely breakfast in a very pleasant dining room
Windows in bedroom could have done with a clean
