The breakfast is probably the best you would find in the area and great value. This is the third time I have stayed here and all of the rooms have been very quiet and comfortable.

Breakfast was good. I arrived with a heavy bag the owner did not offer to help woth my bag and only opened a small door. The room was in the attic with a small window a tiolet that refilled constantly and genrally seen better days; yet they had vacancies and we were allocated a room in the attic!

We stayed in a superior room at the top of the house, it was really big and bright and very quiet. The breakfast is excellent with lots of choice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The Hotel is very close to the seafront and it is a lovely stroll along the promenade, you can walk all the way to Portsmouth old town, however Southsea centre is close by. Close to Albert Road in Southsea which has every type of restaurant/takeaway you could want and a great selection of bars, be careful in the bars though as the door staff sometimes ask for ID from everyone not just the under 20's.

We liked the location of the hotel. It was always heated nicely. It was a peaceful area. About ten minutes walk from local high street and round the corner from the bus stops to town and Gunwharf quay. The manager was nice enough and knowledgeable. The morning breakfasts was lovely, a beautiful fruit platter and a very nice cooked breakfast (maybe could do with a radio in the breakfast area so its not so silent). The room we was in was fine, clean, warm and very spacious with a digital tele and tea and coffee making facilities. It also had a hairdryer. Ultimately we had a nice time and enjoyed our stay.

Being February and outside temperature being a 'bit nippy', the hotel was excellently heated: also open solid fuel effect fires in dining and reception area to sit and read the papers. Oh, and the breakfast was very very good and generous. Had no complaints what-so- ever. Recommended.

I found the landlord unsmiling and so not friendly enough. My friend and I had a twin room supposedly superior but we found the beds too narrow with the insidebed much too close to the radiator which felt quite chilly in the middle of the night. A bulb was blown in the ensuite bathroom which was replaced when we brought it to the landlord's attention. The cooked breakfast was very ordinary, the bowl of branflakes (Lidl?)tiny - with only two slices of toast for two people, and we had to remind the server about the orange juice. The coffee was good though.

Lovely B&B, charming old house neatly renovated. Good breakfast, very friendly staff. Will recommend it to anyone who is staying in Portsmouth. Close to the seafront and the charming Canoe Lake, and the Pier. God value for your money. The bus for city centre was ok but if you want to go somewhere else there are not many buses to choose from.
