This 4-star hotel is just a 10-minute walk from Dover’s port, and 5 minutes’ walk from the centre. It offers tours of Dover, charming Regency decor, and many rooms with picturesque waterfront views.

Nearness to the white cliff
Noisy, lots of young children.
Rooms were very good and great value for money. Ideal location for ferry terminal. Staff friendly. Despite probs with loo, would stay again
After arrival we had to move rooms as the toilet became blocked, as it did in the room we moved into. Not very pleasant or acceptable and staff agreed, and we were refunded part of stay. It would appear they having probs with low pressure.
The staff were friendly, the entertainment was very entertaining and the food was good value for money and good to eat.
This is the second time we have stopped here within a few months. Our first visit was great and had no complaints but this time round was not as good. The Staff were friendly but didn't succeed in helping us with our bathroom problems which meant we could not wash properly(bath or shower) as the water just about came out the shower head and couldn't get it to come through the taps at all. We reported it on several occasions and we were told that someone had been to fix it but there was no difference.
Room and bed was comfortable
There were no stairs. I'm disabled and can do stairs with difficulty but a lift would have been lovely
Comfy room, nice bath. Great pool, sauna and hot tubs. Nice quiet site. Beautiful St. Margaret s Bay.
Pool changing rooms need deep cleaning .
The swimming pools are great, the bed was very comfortable and we found the food in the restaurant surprisingly good. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.
Just one member of staff could do with some training on customer care. His bad attitude was noted by several diners at breakfast
Clean, friendly and a beautiful location to stay. Lovely place to stay after a long drive from Shrewsbury. All I needed was a long, hot bath, a chill out in front of the telly and a good night's sleep before a long drive the other side of the pond. All of which was available and was great fully received!
The only thing that annoyed me slightly was the signal on the telly was a bit dodgy at times and needed resetting at the plug (which meant getting up).
Great for an overnight stop when waiting for a ferry.
Rooms tired and dated. . Mattresses lumpy thin and old
excellent value like premier inn or travel lodge
Everything at the resort..Room, Parking,Leisure Facilities, Food Breakfast & Dinner. Value for money. Staff at bar and meal service top class. Leisure Centre Staff very helpfull.
The location of St Margaret's is ideal for those travelling from Northern England (or beyond) who wish to get a good night's sleep before an early morning ferry. It is located within a Holiday Park containing Mobile Homes, a Clubhouse and so forth, but don't be put off as it is infinitely preferably to any of the budget hotels in Dover itself and yet so close - 5 minutes' drive. The main thing is it is nice and quiet at night. The rooms are clean, comfortable and contain all one requires for an overnight stay. We have not stayed more than a single night.
We tend to arrive late at night (about 1030ish, so well before midnight) and finding no-one on reception after a 5 hour drive when there is no automated, 24 hour, check-in facility and all you want to do is get into your room and go to bed was momentarily disconcerting. I had to telephone the number posted on Reception's door and was doubly worried when I had to leave a voicemail message in default of any reply. Nevertheless, we were quickly located by a member of staff and attended to very cordially. The speed bumps getting into the Holiday Park are pretty vicious for a fully laden car!
comfort of the room, location ,staff& food but overall excellent value.
no air conditioning to hot in the room, Toilet pan could have been a bit clean.
Clean great size room easy to get to
Nothing to dislike could not fault anything
Apparently recently refurbished. Rooms were OK. Bed was not really nice.
Location on holiday park
Ideal location if you need somewhere quiet to stay before going to France.
Would be helpful to say the Hotel is within the caravan park, as I had to ask several people where it was. Had it been dark this would have been difficult. Staff however were really nice.
Jacuzzi was out of order. food was poor quality
Mix of Bungalows, static caravans and a hotel offers a wide range of accommodation to suit a wide variety of needs. The bar was friendly and the restaurant was good offering a range of pub meal type food. There is a swimming pool and an amusement area and an entertainments lounge.
Sound proofing between hotel rooms was a bit lacking
Good, very cheap food literally next door. Conveniently located for Dover car ferry.
Very thin mattress and hard base - like sleeping on a towel on a sideboard Quite a bit of noise well into the evening from children playing and later from the bar and from people returning to their rooms from it. Staff a bit offhand - not rude or unhelpful exactly, just nothing special
Staff very good and helpful..
The mattress on bed was very uncomfortable you could feel every spring in it couldn't sleep on it.
Relaxing well kept holiday park very friendly staff laid back vibe and very clean rooms. Responded well to our requests.
Laundry was closed.
The leisure facilities (pools)
The furniture is very worn.
I needed to change arrival times which I was still unable to keep but there was no problem on arrival at 2.30am and we were shown to our delightful and very clean room in the hotel.
Nothing to report
Stayed here in august 2014 for an overnight stay before getting a ferry from dover the next day. Arrived late - security very helpful letting us in. Good breakfast the next day. Room was clean and bed fairly comfortable.....
Unfortunately our room was by the bar and some children were playing football outside until 1am we were exhausted the next day! Shower randomly switched off throughout use and the toilet didn't flush.
A really good spot to stop over before catching early ferry. Nice rooms and good bar and food available at sensible prices.
One minor point..no hair dryer in the room... forgot to bring our own.
- Cleanliness of room
- Water flow in shower was not much more than a dribble. An electric or power shower is needed with such low water pressure - Reception closed before 9am - Only 1 chair in the room
