On 44 acres of land right on the coast of the English Channel, this 4-star Victorian hotel features a spa and a 9-hole golf course. The Dover Ferry Port is only a 20-minute drive away.

very poor breakfast ordered scrambled and toast and smoked salmond for 2 no salmon toast poor tea not good reported to receptionist not usuial standard for great wesstern
It is good value for the money but this hotel badly needs a facelift. The room and bathroom were clean and tidy and there was plenty of hot water.
The room was on the small size and only had one armchair for two people. Also, in this day and age, surely it is not beyond the wit of man to have the full spectrum of Freeview on the TV. The bar food that we tried was dire. The central heating did not seem to be working, however, an electric heater had been provided.
The split level room with a view over the town and sea. The friendlness of the staff and the excellent location of the hotel by the sea with an easy walk into the main part of the town.
the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the quirkiness and charm of the somewhat faded old style decor and layout, and the amazing location. The rooms at the front have fantastic sea views.
we have stayed in this hotel many times in many different rooms both as a couple and singly. some of the rooms at the back of the hotel can be a bit stale smelling, but at the same time we have generally been paying a very cheap rate for these rooms. and once you open the window its fine...
Good facilities, friendly helpful staff, excellent breakfast and prime location overlooking beach.
Older property with several doors and corridors to negotiate.
The bed and the lift.
Well kept room
Room 212 - WiFi kept dropping out.
The hotel was in a good location. Weather was awful so couldn't go out,(gale force winds!) but were made v welcome in the bar followed by a delicious meal. The best steaks we have eaten in a v long time. Our waitress was both friendly & efficient
Thin walls. Noise from next room.
Staff helpful and courteous
free parking and location
Bin in room had clearly not been emptied for two days (old newspaper)
Will definately liked the location. The room was very roomy but in need of modernising. Breakfast not tne best we nave evrr jad.
Staff were not very helpfull at breakfast had to keep asking for Things.
Staff seemed helpful. Good location.
Once you get into the corridors and rooms there was a really musty, damp smell, which was really off putting the decor looks like it hasn't been updated since 1950.
Afternoon tea very nice and attractively served but only one scone when menu said 'scones'. Staff pleasant and helpful.
Given a double room instead of twin on arrival but this was rectified. Breakfast was chaotic as there was a coach party and not enough staff. One older member of staff in dining room was useless and left all the work to two youngsters. Tables not attractively laid. Rooms not very well serviced, again didn't seem to be enough staff.
This hotel is located opposite the beach and has lovely view of the sea. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room. Everything was clean and tidy. Breakfast was plenty and varied.
The lift, it will only hold two people and very tiny. The car park is very small and only has room for 6 cars, although there is room to park in the street.
had to ask a member of staff to clear the table. Had to ask for tea/coffee. Breakfast was awful. The staff were unpleasant and not 1 smile. Overall awful stay.
food was good and staff were pleasant and helpful
I had to have my key card reset every day always after housekeeping had been in the room
Its location, right on the seafront: a reasonable sized, standard hotel room, clean and functional. ALL the staff very friendly and professional. Buffet breakfast excellent and evening dinner quite acceptable . . . with a reasonable variety of dishes available, including curries. Handy stopover to/from Channel ports.
Hotel is a little bit of a maze and the lift, while serviceable, a tight squeeze for 2+luggage ;-( Car parking somewhat restricted. Would recommend booking ahead.
Lovely location and clean spacious room
Duvet tog 13.5 rediculous in summer! We were told to ask for a fan next time - as tho' this was our problem. Only two couples eating at dinner and we were let know at 9.15 when inquiring about dessert that cook wanted to get home - although restaurant supposedly open until 9.30!Staff at table untrained in basics. Rather 'Fawlty Towers' with residents and maintenance guy walking through restaurant as route to rooms.
Location, we were attending a family wedding close by otherwise we would not have stayed here.
This hotel needs a total makeover. Carpets on stairs threadbare, smelly corridors, bathroom cleanliness non existent, felt cleaner going in than coming out!! Curtains hanging from tracks. The list could go on..
The location which was excellent.
The quality and comfort of the rooms. We each stayed in a single room, one of which was adequate but the other was shocking, it was inconveniently on 2 levels, cramped and dirty. We would never go back or recommend it to anyone. The staff were poorly trained and lacked any knowledge or customer care skills. A very disappointing experience.
staff very helpful and cheerful ..
We liked the proximity to the channel tunnel. Hythe was quieter and felt more secure than Folkestone. Hotel was right on the sea front. Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was clean with tea making facilities. As we were leaving early the hotel provided a breakfast grab bag.
Bit pricey for a three star hotel. Public areas looking a bit tired.
Seafront location, spacious room, good restaurant with sea view, breakfast and dinner both of a high standard. Staff all polite and helpful.
The special menu had no choices.
Dated fabric and furnishings. Indifferent staff. Mattress poor - springs pushing through fabric. Carpets old and stained. Breakfast buffet poor quality. Nowhere near expectations from previous Best Western experiences. Hotel needs updating and redecoration.
