Very good,
Score from 153 reviews
“ For foreign travellers like us, the most important point is how sincerely the hotel stanff listens to us under different linguistic situations, trying to accommodate our needs as much as he\she can. In this respect, the staff was very kind, warm and cooperative. ”

Very helpful staff, great breakfast, good location close to Buxton, immaculately clean, friendly and homely feel. Lovely lounge area, peaceful, facilities in room excellent. Driving through industrial estate to get there!! Shame there is no alternative access road.

All the family that run Staden Grange were helpful and friendly, We knew it was located a little way outside of Buxton itself, but that means it is peaceful and a taxi into the centre of Buxton only costs about £6. It is very handy for walking up to the Midshires way, and from there west, through Buxton, to the Errwood Reservoir, or east to Deep Dale nature reserve, and beyond that to the Penine Bridleway and the Monsal Trail to Bracewell. It isn't the cheapest... :)

Very clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. Very comfortable rooms. Beds comfortable. Breakfast was very good with refills provided for coffee and toast. A good meal to start the day. Was exactly as advertised. Would return for certain. Only problem was finding Staden Grange. The map could be more specific in directions. The roadway signage in Buxton was not clear at a couple of round abbots to the proper highways.

Very clean, (which seems hard to find these days), very friendly, lovely details to each room. Modern and up to date. Well kept. Very comfortable. We traveled with our two little kids and they had hot chocolate, tea and cookies and gummies in our room for us to have. Great blackout curtains on our room where my husband and I slept. The boys were in a another room off of ours. Breakfast was yummy. Would stay here again. Some yummy Chinese food in town. :) Wish they had black out curtains in the kids room as well, so they would sleep longer and not wake up when the sun came out. :) But that is only a very small detail. I would not change anything else. They have done a nice job with the place and we really enjoyed our stay.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful when I arrived in snow... and more snow. I could see the long drive to get my car up it so they came to collect me and also dug my car out of a drift the following morning. Breakfast was fab - the first time I'd tasted a Derbyshire Oatcake! The room was clean and comfortable and Sarah kindly gave me a lift into town to the opera house that evening as my car was going nowhere! Would recommend. I felt a little exposed due to the window having just a thin curtain overlooking the courtyard which could do with being lined, but as I was the only guest that made it there due to the weather conditions, it wasn't really a problem.

The Four poster room was a good size, included a leather sofa, looked great had wonderful views of the Derbyshire countryside. The bathroom was very luxurious. Alastair (one of the owners) was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was just right. Yes the road leading to Staden Grange is through an industrial estate and is very bumpy I quite liked that because once you get to Staden Grange it is lovely inside and has such great views. A taxi into Buxton was just under £6. Walls were rather thin. The four poster was very squeaky but comfy.

Friendly staff, good facilities and enjoyed seeing the resident donkeys and rabbits - made it unique! Breakfast was excellent. Some dust on skirting board etc but potential guests should overlook what I'm sure was a one-off - everything else was superb

The room was clean, newly decorated and a reasonable size. The en-suite bathroom was small but clean and well appointed. The room was quiet - albeit there were few other guests.. The access from the main road is somewhat 'industrial' and off-putting, and the track up to the house is rather lumpy. The main house - reception, breakfast room, lounge etc needs to be upgraded to the level of the rooms.

Hotel staff very friendly. Very homely. Clean and natural surroundings. Breakfast had variety of choices. Ample parking. Reasonable wifi in the room. Out of the hustle and bustle of town. Wifi dropped out at times. In an industrial area, so the access to the hotel bit odd, although well marked and sign posted.

Clean, friendly staff, good food with plenty of choice. When we were in our room we couldnt hear other guests. The drive from the main road to the hotel felt like we were driving through an industrial estate.
