Lovely hotel in a picturesque setting, we stayed in the apartment at the back of the B&B, it was nice and warm with a nice kitchen set up(although we didn't use it). The breakfast was great and we got a beautiful handmade heart with mine and my partners name on. The gentleman that owns Staden Grange is a proper gent and works very hard to make sure everything is great! We will be back!
My en-suite single room was stylish, well-equipped and immaculately clean. The cooked-to-order breakfast was excellent with a well-judged menu. The car park is big.
You may perhaps not want to arrive on foot, as it is down a long, unmade drive. Don't expect to be able to take a stroll to the pub of an evening as it's a fair way out of town (but does have its own bar of sorts).
Lovely location and the staff did everything possible to accomodate us. Nice rooms with a comfortable bed. Would deginitely come back in the summer when the farm is open!
Lovely owners. Good location. Great breakfast. Owners made a personalised wooden heart with mine and my girlfriends name on, nice touch.
Heating on 24/7 - turned our radiator off and opened window but still too hot at night. Creaky floorboards and wooden stairs.
A warm genuine welcome. Spotless and comfortable room. Room that was quite separate from the main house so if you were late coming in you did not disturb other guests.
One slight complaint about the drive up to the accommodation. It was full of potholes and could be improved by Tarmac!!
Beautifull view was a little put off when we drove through the industrial estate but it wasn't a problem at all
Location was good for being rural but very close to Buxton - handy for my work the next day and my photographic hobby. Excellent breakfast. Lovely room in the courtyard (handy for late and early comings and goings for dawn light etc). WiFi fine for my work needs; nice shared lounge area available.
Kettle didn't fit under the basin tap without emptying (slightly flooding the floor) on removing! But then found there is a handy jug provided for the purpose..! So entirely my fault!
Friendly welcoming staff, extremely quiet and relaxing location and being woken up by farmyard sounds is what you want in the Country. Good seperate room with kitchen for our 3 boys.
shower very confined, but not a big problem.
Location even in winter was good . The breakfast is first class with plent of choice and all prepared when ordered , we stayed in room 9 and had a childs room adjoining it . The main bed was very comfy for adults . The couple who run the house are very freindly and helpful . would stay there again and recommend it to any folks visiting Buxton or the Peak District area.
One of us slept in the childs single bed and this was not very comfy for an adult.
Friendly & helpful staff Great breakfast Very clean Comfortable bed Tea making in room
Expected more "rustic character" for location Room very clean - but also rather motel like - open onto car parking, square with small bathroom, electric shower, no bath etc
Friendliness of the proprietors
Long unmade drive
All rooms had a diff theme and were very tastefully decorated. Wifi strong. Breakfast tasty, hearty and coffee excellent. Roomy shower, Lounge not used but looked cosy and inviting and there was a real fire! Real fire in large dining room.
Nothing except maybe the farm track to the accommodation. Although we had to negotiate some holes in track, it would not stop us from coming again,
Very friendly, helpfull could not do enough for me
Friendly service value for money Great breakfast
The Grange is well located just a mile or two from Buxton. The owners are helpful and friendly, the buildings and grounds are maintained in good condition and all necessary facilities are provided. The breakfast was good and we enjoyed our stay.
Access to the grange is slightly unprepossessing- through an industrial estate, but I guess that's a very minor issue. The long driveway to the Grange could really do with a bit of re-surfacing- but I have little doubt this will be attended to in due course.
Room Bathroom Parking Breakfast room Warm welcome
Front porch Bar room Smelly toilet Thin walls - could hear other guests TV all night Low pressure shower
We really loved our room, warm, clean, comfortable and a couple of nice little touches, like the furry hot water bottle and slippers ! The host's are super people, really friendly and helpful..oh, and a fantastic breakfast !!
The shower was a bit on the weak side...but that was it to be fair !
Great welcome, very nice room, all you could need, spacious dining room with lovely log fire, home from home. Will come again.
Great size room for two adults and two teenagers (room 9). Boys had twin beds in adjoined room, nice change from a sofa bed which doesn't go down well anymore now they are fourteen. Very nice breakfast and extremely helpful owner who recommended restaurants and booked our taxi. Will stay again.
Price Access to Buxton is easy Staff were helpful Breakfasts good Rooms comfortable
Sat nav by postcode ends up in nearby industrial estate. Look out for signs, turn right just before Howdens.
We loved the comfy bed, the substantial breakfast and attention to detail.
Lovely staff, really clean room. Slightly off the beaten track but well signposted off Staden Lane.
Bed was a bit hard,
Comfortable room, lovely decor, helpful staff.
Everything from the room, breakfast was amazing, really friendly, location is 5 mins from the opera house, great place.
