very convenient location, the kitchen staff are polite and nice girls for those who spend much time in the hotel, probably best to choose a more expensive hotel, where old furniture, small room, but everything is clean

The location was good for us. Cost of room was value for area. High ceiling in room. Wall mounted flat screen TV in room. English breakfast ok. The hotel flattered to deceive from the outside. Internally it looked tired and grubby. The handle to our room door was loose. The bed duvet cover and pillow cases were heavily creased (surely would not take much to run an iron over them). The toilet / shower room was small. The shower head was very dirty, so much so, I chose not have a shower. The room had patio doors leading to a shared balcony. The lock on the patio doors was broken and replaced with a heavy duty bolt at the bottom. No window in room so had to leave patio door slightly ajar to allow air to circulate the hot room whilst sleeping. Room furniture was very cheap and had seen better days. Had to pay £5 deposit for TV remote that I later discovered had no batteries. To be fair they provided batteries. No choice of breakfast. We were given cheap orange juice and were asked if we wanted an English breakfast. No cereals. One cheap sausage, rasher of bacon, fried egg and spoonful of beans. Tasted ok. Glad we were staying for one night only.

Breakfast was ok, at least it was good to start off the day (considering that most other hotels do not provide an English breakfast). Staff were ok especially staff at the dining room were very friendly. Location was good, just around 5 minutes away from Victoria station. Heating in the hotel and room was good too. Nice hot water in the shower...and bed was cosy. Don't expect a lift to go to your room. Just prepare your legs to go up the stairs. After a day running around in the city, the least you would want to have is to go up those stairs! So I don't recommend it for old couples for sure. Room is very small, not enough space for luggage's (ie. we had 2 small hand luggage's and 2 large ones)..so you need to see how you're going to keep yourself a bit organised. Shower is very small. Although I didn't like these things I mentioned, considering price and location of the hotel I would not make a fuss on these, especially if you're going to use the hotel just to sleep. Sincerely, if I had to go to London again I would try to find a better hotel, but if I don't find one, I would have no objection to stay in the same hotel again.

Great location, not too much noise and traffic. We had a nice view to Big Ben and London Eye from our room upstairs. The room was clean, though worn out with furniture from maybe 70's...but bathroom was renewed and modern. Breakfast was basic but ok! Wi-fi was off at first but they made it work next morning. The staff was helpful and nice. Very thin room walls, so if you happen to get noisy neighbours, you might need ear plugs...

Located close to Victoria station, 24 hour reception, has good wi-fi signal even on the 3rd floor. English breakfast is pretty good The smell in the bathroom (really strong), the shower is stupidly made and not convenient at all. No special room for luggage storage, you should live it in the open room with TV near reception. Very noisy from the street, windows don't protect you from the noise

Location is everything and the Stanley has it. I have stayed there several times before. It feels safe and the staff is accommodating but it is expensive for what you get. London is not a good city for budget hotels--only if you are willing to spend more than $400.00 a night do you get anything decent and I am just not willing to spend that much money- it cuts into my shopping budget--. So I will endure the mold on the shower ceiling (which does has good pressure with plenty of hot water), never go barefoot on the carpet, and wait in line for breakfast because it is the best of the other poor options. When I noticed a price drop on their website I e-mailed to ask why I was paying more than the advertised price--no reply. I e-mailed 3 more times only to get a "we are fulling booked for the dates you requested" answer. I don't think they pay attention to any details that are on the website and only want you to pay up and keep quiet. Because I have stayed there numerous times some of the staff remember me so I am able to chose my room and pay upon leaving but I'm sure it isn't that way for everyone. It's London and that is just the way things work there in the hotel business. I keep going back twice a year so what does that say about me?

The only thing we liked was the location of the hotel. The beds were very uncomfortable, the hairdryer didnt work. The toilet didnt flush, the bathroom ceiling was covered in mould, there was no hot water, it was a very bad experience and I wouldn't recommend it at all.
