The staff were so very welcoming and helpful. I arrived early and was invited to wait in their tv lounge and have a pot of tea until my room was ready. The wifi was free and the signal was strong enough to use Skype. The breakfast was hot and served by a friendly group of girls. I was offered top ups for coffee and toast. Then when I checked out, I still needed to do some shopping - no problem. I was invited to leave my bags in the lounge until I was ready to leave. I will definitely stay there again. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for their help and hospitality.

The space in my single room was enough with quite a small bathroom, though. Bed was comfortable. The free wi-fi advertised was available 24 hours and with reasonable quality. The English breakfast offered was really poor. There is no kettle in the room. All the furnishings in the room except for the bed were extremely worn out. There is no possibilty to make phone calls neither from the room nor from reception. The staff at reception was not polite and helpful enough. There is no lift and guests should keep in mind they should be strong enough to carry luggage up and down a narrow staircase.

I choose the Stanley House Hotel primarily for its location and secondly the price. Only minor comment was the noise from the pigeons early in the morning!

Good location English breakfast was just half of size of normal English breakfast, have to stay in queue and wait for breakfast, not enough tables and very small place. There were not cups and glasses in the room, no kettle where to boil water and no tea, coffee, sugar......

Excellent place, kindly staff. 1) Extremely small place in the room - the trunks of four of us occupied all place; 2) Absence of opportunity to prepare tea of coffee in the room, absence tea and coffee, soup and shampoo (standard thing in ALL hotels!).

We paid 210 pounds for 3 nights 2 person and we never expect it would be this good for the value we paid. [Since its over the new year the last night would be more expensive, but still :) ] Breakfast is nice as well. :D

Location was great. Very near the Victoria station. Service was OK and rooms were small, and musty, as expected. It's a case of location and price vs comfortability and cleaness. Take your earplugs with you. Walls are very thin.

Location is close to the majority of London tourist spots. Walking distance to Buckingham palace. Hotel offered everything we needed but it was at a lower level of quality. Price seems good for basic London accommodation. It was like staying with elderley poor relatives - nothing has been replaced or upgraded for 50 years. The carpets are almost threadbare, the beds are basic (but still comfortable to sleep in). Breakfast room is extremely small and eating time was limited. Stairs are narrow, uneven and potentially dangerous.

A clean, quiet nice sized room at a budget price for London. Within walking distance of Victoria rail/underground/coach stations. Polite friendly staff. Will certainly stay there again on my next visit to London Blanket on the bed was very thin, although an extra one was provided in the wardrobe I personally would have preferred a duvet.

Very good location- proximity to Victoria bus station (5 mins) to the centre 10 mins. Very helpful staff. Otherwise rather budget accomodation. No elevator. Crowded dining room in the morning - some people waiting 15 mins to grab a seat. But no major complaints ohetwise.

We came late, after ashow. No problem with booking in. Fast, efficient and no unnecesary fuss. Breakfast excellent. There was a coffe/tea machine in the corridor. Would prefer coffee/tea facility in room. Otherwise excellent.
