I needed a hotel near Victoria Station and the hotel was very conveniently located.
My and my friend were staying there for five nights and we both agreed that the location of the hotel was great and the staff was very nice. They were very helpful and wanted that we have the best possible stay in London. Also, we enjoyed our breakfast a lot. We would definitely recomend the Stanley House hotel because of the location and the breakfast.
The problem was our room, the floor was covered with carpet and on it you could see short blond hair that none of us have. That was a bit disgusting. Also, we had a really tiny sink in our bathroom situated just beneath the cupboard so it was really hard to brush our teeth and wash our face. And there were spots of mold in the shower as well. I also think that for the price we payed the hotel could be much better.
Great location (5 min walk from Victoria Station) and staff! Very nice rooms - comfortable and clean! Higlhy recommended place for staying in London. Good price!
Central and comfortable
location, staff very good and pleasant
there was absolutely nothing that we didn't like
A friend and I (2 girls) booked somewhere to stay near Victoria station and relatively near the RAH, which we had tickets for. Location was superb for both venue and travel. We didn't require anything particularly flashy to sleep as just needed to get changed + sleep. Room had a shower and toilet in which I'd say for couples may be too small but for 2 friends was plenty for what we needed. Also let us leave luggage in TV room during following day while we did a bit of sight seeing. Perfect! Thank you
Handy location for railway and coach station, it really is walking distance even with heavy trolley cases. Breakfast included in room price. Small convenience shop over road.
Room small and no complimentary toiletries apart from small bar of soap. Only towels provided, no face cloths. Breakfast adequate but no choices.
Breakfast was nice.
The room was really small, down in the basement, so didnt want to open window.the floor was really uneven and the wardrobe was on a slant. The bathroom was hardly big enough to get in. There was quite a lot of dust on the top of things and the carpet was really old and ripped.
Breakfast was included
Wifi was horrible
Close to Victoria station 5 min walk
The room was on a lean and lots of stairs
The location is good, it is only a short walk to Victoria Station, - so easy to get anywhere in London. But then again, I would rather recommend picking ANY of the many other hotels in the same street instead!
Got a room which stank of sewer, it was obvious they were aware of this as the tiny bathroom contained 4 air fresheners. In addition there was mould several places in the bathroom. After complaining they moved us to another room the next day. This room at least didn't smell like a sewer, but had a bed so lumpy you could feel every spring in the mattress. (the bed in the smelly room was ok) Something was wrong with the shower in this room, the mixing tap didn't work. So you either got scolding hot water or freezing cold water. The bathroom door was difficult to open, and it was obvious that someone had tried to force it open with a crowbar or something similar, as big chunks of it was gone. It would have been ok that it was old and shabby if it had been clean, but unfortunately it wasn't even that... There is no air condition, so we needed to have the windows open all the time, which made it hard to sleep due to the traffic noise. Honestly, - it's hard to find anything positive to say about this place.
Location is excellent close to all you need 7mins from coach station and 5mins from the underground. Room is clean and change towels everyday. I would recomend it if you plan to stay all the day out.
Not to much is wrong thinking of what you paid for the location. Room and en suite is a bit small but not a problem if you just need it to shower and sleep. You might end up eating the break fast with other people at the same table in the breakfast room.
Location is perfect, staff s got a really good sense of humour, and you can leave your luggage there for free which is also really good
Price and location close to Victoria station (bus and train), easy walk to Palace, Parliament and Thames. Hot breakfast included. Reception helpful and stored luggage after check-out while we went out before our departure from London.
Rooms are pretty small and aging (standard for Belgrave Road). Stairs are steep and narrow, no lift (again standard for this type of hotel/B&B).
Sheets were a bit dirty
The location and the size of the room was a plus. We also had access to a balcony (the top of the hotels awning) which was quite pleasant.
The hotel didn't have any A/C, so we had to open the windows that meant a lot of noise in the morning! Plus the shower handle was a bit difficult to get used to.
Excellent location, near Victoria Station and this means in the middle of everything. It was a clean room and a good bed. Very good TV.
I didn't like the bathroom. Extremely small, the wash basin cannot be used for washing, because it's less than a half of a regular one and the shower is for skinny people. Everything is old and there are three types of furniture inside, three different colours. The balcony was dirty, the English breakfast( one piece of sausage, one slice of bacon, 2 spoonfuls of beans and one egg) was good but little.
Breakfast was fantastic and location great for walking to tourist destinations
Internet barely worked, bed was hard and pillows lumpy our window would not stay open. Bathroom was very small (could barely move in the shower) and shower tap felt like a hose.
Good proximity to sights we wanted to visit. Close to tube.
Ideal location for this visit. Facility for leaving luggage. Friendly staff.
No teamaking facilities in room. Shabby generally, although clean bedding.
room on the basement
Excellent location. Very friendly staff. Basic but very clean and comfortable. Our second floor room was quiet. Breakfast adequate with plenty of coffee.Luggage storage after checkout a great help. Would definitely stay again.
Not really a negative but decor and furniture a bit tired and en-suite a bit small.
Mould in open bathroom sink drain Mould in shower. Ver poor quality bed linen. Ver y miserable quality breakfast. No remote for tv. No reception when remote obtained
Nice price and good location 5 min. walk to Victoria station (but will not come here again)
A lot: hairdryer made rattling sound/smelled burned so did not use it, window was held open with coffeecup, remote tv was missing, socket for electric razor not working, tiny bathroom: sink too small for normal use/wash.
-The bed was very hard and uncomfortable -Loud noises outside the room -No plug socket -Rude reception staff -Tired decoration -Horrible smell in the room
