Stansted Airport Lodge  

The staff were professional and polite. The room perfect for a stop over. I would recommend this stop over to anyone.

Stansted Airport lodge exceeded my expectations, it was as comfortable as the hotel we stayed in London city and its surroundings were more luxurious. The owner was friendly, took us to our room and set our alarm clock. Continental Breakfast was provided, this was a pleasant bonus as it was not provided in the more expensive hotel we stayed in.

It cost us £12.00 in a taxi from Stansted on the evening we arrived and £4.50 each the next morning returning - expensive for families. A charge of £2.50 each or a £5.00 overall charge for a journey - regardless of numbers, would make it more appealing

Bed was not long enough as I am a tall person. Uncomfortable mattress. No own showers in room. Had to leave room.

Pretty basic no cloth hangers in cupboards etc poor sleep as could everything from other rooms

Near Stansted Airport with cheap coach which starts a 4am, just what i was looking for.

Price and Location. Room is clean and large enough. Free wifi connection is good. Airport shuttle came to pick me up just 10 min after my calling.

Airport shuttle is 4.5 pounds for each trip. (Roundtrip is 9 pounds) I don' t know why this basic information is not written anywhere. I have sent e-mail a couple of times but no reply at all. If hotel is not going to reply, the should not provide their contact e-mail address. Customer always except some reply information.

Cheap and good rewievs, cheaper is to use taxi from and back to airport, not shuttle bus. Really interesting region, old english houses and good pub

I arranged to be picked up at 0430 in the morning for a 0625 flight to Berlin. I specifically asked the staff if that was enough time in regards to the fact that it was snowing. I started to try and call the number on the desk at 0440 as there was no transport. I could not get any answer and there was no one on the desk at the hotel. I tried to raise someone from the hotel by knocking but no reply. Finally at almost 0500 the transport arrived. Sorry I am late it took longer than because of the snow. We arrived at the airport and it took more time than usual to clear security to get to the gate just as the aircraft was pulling away. The lost 30 minutes would have prevented that. The airline was less than helpful with their only suggestion that I rebook for the next day and pay another 120 pounds as the fare was not refundable. I was also told that I could pay 300 Pounds to get to Germany that day but not to Berlin. I chose to go direct to Berlin by train. Overall this cost me 600 pounds extra and a lost day in Berlin just because a taxi driver could not get to his destination on time. If he had left with time for the conditions which were well expected the night before then he would have been on time. I called the hotel and they could not have been less interested. The room also did not have heating that was working and it was very cold as it was snowing. We were given cold wet towels with snow on them. A big thank you for nothing and wasting a day and 600 pounds. Other travelers need to know.
