Surroundings, fabulous hotel with attentive staff. Would definitely go back for another stay. Price was excellent.
The fan in the bathroom needed a clean. I thought they could have provided a bottle of complimentary water in the room.
Fridge in room is great. Free wifi is good but signal is weak and bobs in and out. Food in restaurant was lovely.
No phone signal at all in hotel is just unacceptable. Pay a phone contractor to get a signal booster put on the premises for your guests. Re restaurant: They could fit me in for an evening meal on Thurs but not my two guests. So we ate out instead.
Peaceful rural setting, quiet and comfortable room. Beautiful architecture, just like living in a country manor from a PG Wodehouse novel.
The 11am check-out is inconvenient on a weekend for a hotel specialising in wedding parties and late evenings. Noon would be better.
Location, location. Beautiful spot really handy off main road and lovely Highworth village near to visit if you need to get out which you don't really need to for a one night stay. I didn't eat at the restaurant so couldn't rate the food.
No wifi but not necessarily a bad thing just be aware. Or no reception on my phone anyway. Also, there was a wedding when I stayed so bit of additional noise from that, but minor thing.
I booked a solo room by accident, they didn't have a double room available but still let us stay! Which saved us as everywhere was booked!
Can't say I made good use of the hotel as it was a quick last minute stay but it seemed very nice! Wifi doesn't work in every room (I went to the lobby if that is an issue for anyone, and it could have been my phone) but I'm sure they will accommodate this if you book in advance and ask etc!
Shame we were staying only one night. We have already recommended this excellent hotel to friends.
I liked the choice of japanese or english menu.
Overall, the hotel and staff mainly cater for the Japanese market - to the detriment of English customers.
Excellent location. Good facilities. Staff helpful.
Slipped in bath as no bathmat, spent 4 hours at A & E. Neice also stayed in single room in same date. She was unable to use shower as control did not work (this was repaired soon after reported although too late to have shower before going out). Also TV in Neice's room did not work.
Room was small, hot, no wi fi, and was the third room I had as the other two were awful
Quiet location set in country landscape with access to lakeside walk in parkland. Very comfortable mattress. Japanese cuisine alongside English. Those with laptops could plug in to workstations provided. An additional computer was available in private situation. Superb air conditioned conservatory with bar. Full Afternoon tea available. Fridge available in room.
Wifi went down after day one and failed to be restored over the next two working days and the weekend. However this was not the fault of the hotel. Restaurant could be chilly when air conditioning was working.
Location, comfort and the lovely walks round the lake.
Wifi very bad
The terrace and gardens are attractive and relaxing. The Japanese menu makes a nice change. Stanton Park (one of several excellent Swindon council managed facilities) is just next door for walking, running and generally soaking up some woodland and countryside.
Shame that the old outdoor pool isn't maintained.
Food, Buildings, breakfast, staff, location
No Vodafone signal in the room (maybe room too close to side of hill/embankment?)
Easy access. Staff
Lack of gym and pool
Great location, lovely hotel (owned by Honda) authentic Japanese restaurant.
The room was very luxurious and the bed very comfy.. staff were friendly and helpful and the service during the meals was second to none.. excellent all round overnight visit.. the grounds and views were amazing
the toilet area of the room was very tiny, narrow and next to the door, right next to the door.. I hate to think how an above average size human would get in it if honest.. everything else was fantastic..
bed fridge grounds no breakfast option
small room poor ventilation / no aircon /windows difficult to open (had to stand on the desk, which isnt good for health & safety); no fans available for guest use (I asked for one) no digital tv
Beautiful and quiet surroundings.
Boring restaurant. Too much focus on Japanese guests. Unengaged restaurant waiters.
perfect place for us, everythig was good, nothing too much trouble and good value for money
Good quiet area, excellent parking.
Food quality could have been better.
Very poor Wi-fi, worse than dial up!
Settings and surroundings compliment the hotel's welcome and peacefulness. Friendly calm and efficient staff and we thoroughly the Japanese supper , which was excellently cooked !!!
Great hotel with superb grounds. Photo opportunities great especially for weddings I would thibk
The restaurant was sparse and unwelcoming.
everything was very pleasant, and friendly
i found not having any phone signal a bit awkward as most of my jobs need tel calls, but other than that it was a very pleasant place
